What a valid point you raise. If you were paying attention, you would notice that all of my comments pertain to the current version of Zicam that is on sale to the public. I don't see any point in discussing the original version of Zicam, which contained much higher levels of Zinc.
Let's stick to the here and now. The fact is that the current version of Zicam is labelled as a homeopathic product and it does contain active ingredients 'Zincum aceticum' and 'Zincum gluconicum'. All of this information can be viewed on the web site and on the product packaging. Your inference that all homeopathic products are placebos/plain water clearly doesn't fit in the case of the current version of Zicam. It therefore isn't a theory that holds up as a general statement. For this reason, it isn't reasonable to apply it to Emesyl, especially since the active ingredients are not even known to the public.
Then there's the fact that (current) annual sales of Zicam are estimated to be $150M. But it's just a placebo ? Are you serious?
Please don't confuse allopathic drugs like the original zinc containing Zicam formulations with homeopathic medicines (such as the latest version of Zicam) that are currently being sold successfully today.
