You're not getting it. Intel did not hold back AMD, and whatever drivers or software or tuning they used to accelerate Conroe.... GOOD! It will probably be available by the time the product launches.
As you can see, the overclocked FX-60 @ 2.8GHz outperformed Ananad's previous Quake 4 benches by a decent amount. So whatever graphics card or tuning was done on the AMD platform, Intel give them the full benefit here.
