All of market is down this day, Nasdaq down, biotechs crushed, talk of rotation out of performing growth stocks into *safer* stocks.

It seems to me that if it was all biotech, then Abbvie would have been down today (well...it is while I am writing, finally)

I think that if it were an ENTA issue only ...such as ABT 450 or 2nd gen 493, then Abbvie also would have been down, or down a lot.

I think it is that people are skittish about the markets in general.
Specifically biotecs as of late,
focus on pricing issues (like the $1000/pill controversy) and perceive less income, market share.

Generally..... today is a very bad day, but what do the fundamentals tell us?

Affordable Healthcare Act has brought many people into health coverage, specifically folks who did not have coverage before (maybe HCV infected demographic).

Gilead will be advertising bringing more people into being diagnosed and treated, some of which will fall to Abbvie /Enta.

Actual cost effectiveness of new DAA treatments are easier on payers than older lowerr efficacy treatments, transplants, liver failures. Much of the cost issue is smoke and hype. Plenty of payors are NOW paying for Sovaldi and Olysio at premium prices. Might there be some of that money for a lower priced, higher efficacy treatment? (both or either Gild or Abbvie 3d treatment)
I think so.

I don't see that the fundamentals have changed, and perhaps they have improved. I don't see either Gilead or Abbvie folding up and going home. This strikes me as a worst time to sell, not a good time to get out.

Why is ENTA down so much? The same reason that it rockets up so much; not the drug, not the company so much per se..... but rather the people who buy and sell it. It is far less of a buy and hold than some stocks. Low float plays into that too, I think.
I'm new at this, but that is my perspective.
