I am probably as conservative as most, but I take exception to some of what you posted. A true conservative believes that the government should stay the he11 out of our personal lives, and that such decisions as are personal morality should not be legislated unless it is a danger to others. For this reason, we support laws against murder, theft, and assault, but do not support laws against gambling, drinking, and personal ownership of firearms, for some examples. Let's take some of your points and allow me to present my thinking:

This is such an oversimplification that it is hardly worth comment. You would have the right wing pass laws that limit medical procedures such as abortion? Give me a break. It was illegal before. How did that work? Did it stop girls from getting abortions?

What is the difference between us and totalitarian regimes? It is that our citizens have rights. I tend to agree that we need to limit the rights of convicted criminals. This is not the same as what is being done in Gitmo, is it?

Why do you care what two consenting adults do? I could care less about whether two flamers want to get hitched. How's about doing something to save social security or do something to make our borders secure? To me this is a total non issue.

Prohibition really worked well. Ask the mafia how much it did for them. Legalize the stuff, tax the he11 out of it, and take criminals out of the equation. Use the tax money raised to deal with the health issues.

Stay the he11 out of such a personal decision. Who do you think you are to tell me I can't check out when I want to?

Save me from more tax cuts. Every tax cut we have had increased what I pay. They reduced the rates and then eliminated the deductions. Neither party has been very good in this. Where is that balanced budget the republicrats promised us during the Newt revolution? A conservative does not like debt.

What a bunch of bullpuckey. If god left the schools, it was not on my watch. Nobody prohibits prayer. We had a group of students who met before school every day to study the bible and pray. Nobody did a thing to try to prevent it. What the right wing wants is to establish their brand of religion as the "official" religion, and not to allow any other religion to be practiced. Jews and muslims should be forced to say the Lord's Prayer (protestant version only, thank you).
If you don't consider these things "evil" then, by all means, cast your vote for the democrat party.
I won't be voting democrat, but I am having problems making myself vote for such as Rick Santorum. If it doesn't bother you, enjoy.
