sometimes you need to robert moses or baron von haussmann in order for anything to get done.
nimbyism has its limits.
look at history.
bid @ .0013. ask @ .0030. wow.
you could send him an email. he's incredibly cordial and will email you back (usually within a day or two).
price went up after the PR.
price went down after the company issued more shares tuesday.
very simple.
there are also people who believe in unicorns.
don't say i didn't warn you.
Nice. A Bible theme park. Maybe thats what can go on the old mill site. I love community brainstorming.
truth is a mobile army of metaphors, metonymies, and anthropomorhisms.
in order to purchase something you need money, don't you?
Agreed. Good news (plural) is imminent for longs. Have a good weekend.
The "opposition" here has some strange oranizational tactics.
Shouldn't they be rallying the troops (10,000+ lol!), signing petitions, sitting in trees, etc. rather than posting monotonous, recycled, and dubious "news" on a message board devoted to investors? go outside, man.
Sí, se puede!
I think its gonna happen.
why did Ihub change this link on the page?
"LLEG Quote-News-Trades-Chart"
it used to go to a page where i could view the L2 action.
can anyone recommend where i should go?
nice close by the way... news on the horizon?
The "flaky rhetoric" is part of any agreement its just Laidlaw's sucky PR firm included all of it in the press release. Luckily, they've been fired.
The upcoming news however, will be so good it'll be hard to cloak in verbiage.
See you tommorow.
No, but the existing facilities sure look like a good place to put a biomass plant.
Have a good weekend everyone!
i agree. but what if you HEAR it?
http://www.nhpr.org/node/12983
the "huge industrial monster" that has been there for over 100 years? the one that the town grew around and provided jobs for a century?
Suddenly, the industrial zone is envisioned as the next Paradise Island, though the "residents" claim they're are "anti-biomass."
read through the rest of that depressing local newspaper.
thats a good question, though it appears from the PR the financing is only for Berlin.
i agree.
the next two weeks should be telling.
obviously not.
what's to investigate!? do you guys work for KDPaine's chop shop or what? what's the incentive? 'cus i'm not buying the argument you're here to "save" us, the misguided investors.
two problems (among many) with the anti-Laidlaw movement are-
1) what do you propose for the site in lieu of a biomass plant? if you say "hotel and marina" realize most people will laugh at you.
2) there seems to be the feeling that "we're not against biomass, per se, just the location in the center of town. we support it outside of town." the only reason Laidlaw is there is because of the existing industrial facilities which include a rather expensive boiler necessary for Laidlaw to operate. its been an industrial site for 100 years.
stop being NIMBY clowns.
I love this fictitious revolution you're talking about.
Why do only two or three people show up in opposition to Laidlaw at Berlin's city meetings? Perhaps the proletariat are at home writing manifestoes and posting on Ihub.
Where are the troops, Che?
Next Friday is Day 59.
(in case you're counting)
"With respect to our New York project, we are awaiting a decision
from the Court on the motion argued on March 4th and we expect that
consistent with the guidelines of the NY courts, a decision can be
expected within 60 days."

A less precise date to look forward to is "approximately six months" from January 24= July 24th (isn't that a long time to look at a "draft?".. note characteristic Bartozekian use of "very near future").
"With respect to our progress on moving to the OTCBB, we have draft
of our 2006 and 2007 audited financials in hand and expect the audit
to be completed it in the very near future. We will then turn our
attention to the preparation of a registration statement. Our timing
for the completion of the process remains approximately 6 months."

(losing) Patience.
unfortunately, paine is an example of the worst kind of entrepreneurial liberalism, a crunchy old hack who went to connecticut college in the 70s and now gets funded by (who knows?!) to attack sustainable energy companies! what a joke. Mam, open your eyes to the hippie contradictions. in an public radio interview about the berlin site she advocated "demolishing the factory" to put up "a hotel and marina."
i like this quote from her page:
"This might be one of the best written albums ever made. The guy is a poet and genius. My favorite is the concept of "I wish that love was as simple as Pi, 3.14 .. Pi never resolves.. There are dozens of great messages and concepts here."
thats deep man. maybe laidlaw willl never be resolved either. just like Pi.
katie paine wants to "tear it down and build a hotel and marina"
check it out!

Berlin: One Year After The Mill Closing
By Laura Knoy on Wednesday, May 30, 2007.
In May 2006, Fraser Papers shut the facility for good, ending a long chapter in North Country history. Now, one year later, a new chapter has begun. We’ll look at how things have progressed, from use of the mill site itself to new, broader efforts to diversify the area economy.
Guests
Barb Tetreault, Reporter for the Berlin Daily Sun
Edith Tucker, Reporter for the Coos County Democrat
Pam LaFlamme, City Planner for the City of Berlin
We'll also hear from:
Norman Charest, Economic Development Director for the city of Berlin
Katie Paine, CEO of KD Paine and Partners in Berlin
Charlie Bass, Senior Advisor for Laidlaw Energy Group and former six-term Republican Congressman from NH
Paul Hodes, Democratic Congressman from Concord representing NH’s Second District
i do think the chatter on this board changes the share price, however, in the long run, it doesn't matter. it will naturally react to news of a business plan being successfully (or not successfully)implemented. for example, if laidlaw is online and producing energy in dec. 2009 (as it says it will be), it won't matter what bashers on this board say.
further the number of posters is way too small to change anything significantly, even for a company this small and with so few investors (about 11,000 according to last count).
expect it soon.
a draft is a draft. not a final copy.
the whole process for uplisting, including the completed audit is in process and on schedule to be completed sometime late Q3 or early Q4.
yeah, he's right it does say "without" NAD on Dow Jones and on Laidlaw's "breaking news" section of its site.
i'm sure its a misprint.
unless something radically changed in the past 24 hours, lol!
"We have about 250 megawatts of new projects in the pipeline."
Berlin, NH= 65 MW
Eville, NY= 7 MW
can't wait to hear about the other 178 MW
Thanks Tom,
Great post and even better news.
no one cares. are you here to enlighten us?
i second these comments:
skunksyard & reversetaxman -- Thanks for your words of wisdom...
jackface

oilcan, i agree there's been some pumping,
but there also have been posts by respected members like veritas-twj, cyclone101, recognizer, and others (look how many membermarks they each have) that have confirmed with the CEO that news is indeed imminent.
unless the CEO is a complete liar, which i don't believe he is, your buy @ .0047 should be safe.
isn't todat thursday?
PATIENCE...
