Laidlaw Energy has altered the future economic trajectory of Berlin, NH. That is huge! Some will say that is not good for the shareholders. I say it is a GREAT thing! When the grey sheet is lifted we shall see how correct I am on this subject. How many tiny companies the size of Laidlaw Energy have succeeded in such a manner? None that I can think of.
I have been correct in almost ALL my predictions regarding Laidlaw Energy so I will venture another: The grey sheet will be lifted within 3 months and the PPS will move upwards of .02 almost immediately. Bank it.
They gave birth to the Berlin Power Plant and should be given due credit. Along with a pile of cash!!!
The first huge impact on Berlin was the Browne Company, now we shall see Laidlaw Energy transform the proud City of Berlin. Real estate prices will start to rebound as more and more progress is made to jumpstart the City's economy. It is a glorious time to be a resident of Berlin thanks to Laidlaw Energy!
Laidlaw's legitimacy can no longer be questioned. After todays news of the financing we should hear less talk of fraud and more talk of Laidlaw continuing an upward climb to Nasdaq. It will take time, but their flagship project will become quite busy with 400+ CONSTRUCTION WORKERS AND THOSE STEEL TOE WORK SHOES SAY ALOT!
Now we need to graduate from the greys. It seems all good news will have to be banked until that time. I was talking to a fellow shareholder over the weekend and he wanted my opinion on the current situation. I told him that it was similar to a prisoner winning the Megabucks. Winning means nothing until he can get out of jail and enjoy the money.
WOW! I was ridiculed when I said years ago that the Berlin plant would be paying around 1.5 mill a year in taxes to the City. Now we find out it will be more than that. How things change!
The Berlin power plant will be a HUGE feather in Laidlaw's hat. And the cash coming to Laidlaw sure won't hurt!
It was a negotiating tactic, plain and simple. This tactic has been used for thousands of years. It is strange that it took some by surprise.
LOL Renee!!!!
Renewable energy in general has gotten a boost since the nuclear disaster in Japan. Now Vermont has a nuke plant that should be closing. The monster (1000 megawatt) nuke plant in Seabrook NH is getting old fast. There are alot of positive factors going forward. Laidlaw is in the perfect field at the perfect time.
Are you still buying shares Berlin? I hope so! You were VERY positive about the longterm viability of Laidlaw and I hope you still are!
I hear Buffett will be here soon to rectify the situation. He is scouting renewable energy in New England and is coming heavy. Hold onto your shorts tight!
Yes. The Berlin plant will be built and will be added to Laidlaw's resume. The remaining payment will be made and Laidlaw will continue to grow. There are huge obstacles when entering the power generation field and Laidlaw has hurtled each and every one so far. This current situation will be considered a minor irritation a year from now.
Why didn't you sell them at .0050 when we all were advising you to do so? Whats up?
One tiny biomass plant in Whitefield is not going to stop the Berlin project from going forward. Bet on it. They HAVE delayed it, but that is all. They want their piece of flesh and have gotten everyone's attention. But the pressure is building on them.
WOW! HOMERUN!
This is a tried and true negotiating tactic. If it works all the power to them.
I think that there will be less to this suspension than most believe. 2 years from now we will all forget this unpleasant situation.
Negotiating tactic plain and simple! Some who are panicky have never seriously negotiated in the past. Even the mundane art of buying a car mandates that the buyer be ready to walk to insure the lowest price. What is so hard to understand? This step could save Cate St. millions! I have walked out of negotiating sessions to save 500 bucks!
The Berlin projest is not dead, just another delay which all longs understand is the norm for power plant development. I assume the constant hurdles and banana peels are the reason the US gets so much energy from foreign countries. Streamlining all these processes would go a long way to energy independence.
You are correct! Classic negotiating tactic. Walk away and let everyone think you may not be coming back. The best deal usually happens when using the "walk away" technique.
Why are you asking Matt? Call Laidlaw with your questions. They are accessible and treat each inquiry with respect.
It is very risky to trade fetal stage companies like Laidlaw. They need time to grow. Holding longterm is the way to go. This allows holding during the normal setbacks which ALL companies go through during this stage. If you have picked a survivor like Laidlaw the profit potential can be staggering!
You are completely wrong about what you just stated. Electronic trading works great!
Things are really looking up! Laidlaw will continue to progress as we work through this temporary setback. The extra publicity afforded by the SEC should help in the longterm when we put their questions behind us. Uplisting to OTC:BB will bring even more eyes to bear on Laidlaw and there will be more accomplishments for those eyes to see.
Why not wait for .04??
Bear, you may be getting caught up in the details of each and every transaction. Try stepping back and look at the big picture and you will become much more positive about being a Laidlaw shareholder.
A few short years ago the stock was at .0003 and they had conceived an idea to convert a papermill boiler to produce electric power. Now look at them! You are missing the forest when you focus on each tree. There is plenty of money to be made in the biomass electric power field and Laidlaw's share is just beginning!
I like the sound of that! Thanks for posting!
The beauty of pinks is that they do not have to share each and every transaction with their shareholders or the general public. If pinks and greys were 100% transparent I would not be investing in them. The secrecy is a huge draw. Laidlaw may still be holding a few more things close to the vest and that's good!
I can picture "you know who" chained to the remaining Berlin stack and screaming at all the construction workers!
I am glad this thing was fully approved before the Northern Pass project had a chance to sway more minds. Northern Pass has been running alot of TV commercials lately pushing Canadian energy for NH. Foolish idea to buy energy from foreign countries, even if it is Canada. Laidlaw can help wean us from this addiction.
5-1 when Laidlaw hits a nickel
Some would say that Laidlaw has no options. Seems like new doors open every day. Just the beginning to a very strong longterm investment.
I disagree. Some are stretching the truth to suit their own wallets.
Business is business. A local company in my town declared bankruptcy for the sole purpose of ridding themselves of pensions. Now they are financially solvent. All the pensions are now being paid by the Feds. Brutal but effective! All is fair as long as money is being made. The CEO of Laidlaw has every right to use ALL THE TOOLS at his disposal to build the Company.
I think that CEO MBB is the strongest buyer of shares the last two days. He does not have to announce these purchases. He should let us know when he is finished and shortly thereafter a PR will be released.
The Feds are trying to wean the US of foreign energy and these grants are supposed to help. They welcome any and all news pertaining to them. The Laidlaw PR was correct in mentioning the possibility of qualifying for them.
If you are adding shares, the boring PR is perfect. It does not instill confidence and allows the PPS to float down to a solid buying range. If you are not buying shares the PR is a nightmare. I would think that MBB was under pressure to release a PR, any PR, and that's what he did. Probably should have saved his money. But it was the type of PR I wanted.
Scammers do not get involved in highly regulated industries, unless you are as big as Enron and actually write the regs like they did. Laidlaw had constant government eyes on them pertaining to the development of power plants BEFORE the suspension. This is old hat for them.
I say we close at .0052 and everyone goes home happy!
