BTW, I think they could have made a better choice for the name (Hard On) of the device shown above the jukebox.

I don't agree
Acer's revenues are larger than Gateway, and they are growing very fast (that says something in this economy). They are at the forefront in technology (like e.Digital). I'm considering getting one of their tablet PC's.

Acer would make a great client wouldn't they?
Just wishing.

BTW, Wistron used to be Acer's design and manufacturing arm before they went public. Some here had speculated that Wistron might be the large Asian OEM.

Concerning PortalPlayer
Who knows what technology they developed before Apple came along and what was developed during for the Ipod? Who knows what their contract says about ownership and license rights? One thing is clear though. PortalPlayer was involved (as was Bantam Interactive) with the Samsung/Napster device to some extent. Did they use any technology that was developed specifically for Apple? The screen shot is one of many within the indicated folder installed from a download of the Samsung/Napster device web page.
Maybe you should call PortalPlayer and ask them if they are being "unethical."

Dell IS Creative Technology Ltd.
I am 98% sure that the Samsung/Napster device is Bantams (post 48915), because their name is embedded in the software you could download from the Samsung site.
I am 99.99% sure that the Dell DJ is Creative's. I downloaded the Firmware from the Dell site and invoked the "properties" dialog box on the firmware file.

But it is still there on edig.com (gone on edigital.com)
Edigital removed the picture from their site
The picture on the Oritron site looked identical to the picture of the O-1000 in the flash .gif containing the 6 or so devices. Edig removed the .gif from their web page. I wonder why they don't want the obvious connection anymore?
PS. I saved the .gif on my work computer
I knew I'd seen that picture before
It's on the edigital web site on the leftmost device (of the several which expand). If you look real close, it looks like the same name.

60 Grams? I don't believe it.
A typical 1.8" 20 GB drive alone is around 60 grams. A typical 2.5" 20GB drive is around 100 grams. It looks like the dimensions of this player are more like that of a 2.5". Then you have to add the battery and the other electronics and the case. No way this can be only 60 grams with a hard drive in it.

New PR
(SAN DIEGO, CA - June 10, 2003) - e.Digital Corporation (OTC: EDIG) announced today that it received over $1.1 million in funding through the sale of approximately six million common shares. The shares were sold at $0.19 to 18 investors. Many of these investors have purchased e.Digital shares on the open market and participated in prior equity and debt offerings. This transaction terminates the offering of shares by the Company pursuant to the prospectus dated April 23, 2002, as amended.
"We are on track to complete and deliver on three major OEM contracts (Softeq/Hewlett Packard, Eclipse by Fujitsu Ten and APS) this summer, with the Softeq/Hewlett Packard product scheduled for completion and delivery this month," said Fred Falk, CEO of e.Digital. "We and our customers are very excited about the function and look of these three state-of-the-art electronic products. All three contracts have the potential for larger follow-on orders and further product and business opportunities."
Falk continued, "We are also working on important new business developments. A rapidly growing number of companies are seeking a domestic solution for new product development. This financing improves our competitive position and we believe it will yield major new OEM business, increase corporate visibility, and support increasing quarterly revenues."
The Company also announced the appointment of Jo Ann Platt as Marketing Communications Manager to replace Wendy Ravenel. Ms. Ravenel resigned for personal reasons after almost nine years of service to e.Digital.
"We appreciate Wendy’s many years of dedication to e.Digital," said Robert Putnam, senior vice president of e.Digital. "We wish Wendy well in her future endeavors and we welcome Jo Ann to her new post with the Company."
Prior to joining e.Digital, Ms. Platt served as Director of Corporate Communications for Verance, the leader in digital audio watermarking technologies and broadcast monitoring and verification. Prior to working for Verance, she served as Director of Public Relations with CollegeClub.com and as Marketing Manager at InterVU. Ms. Platt’s tenure at InterVU began in the early days of the company and extended beyond its public offering and subsequent acquisition by Akamai Technologies. Ms. Platt is a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.
