Ouch! This is the first and only penny stock I own. I trade the bigger cap stocks and have never been in this position before. So my question is what happens now? My trading account shows they have value but I can't buy or sell. Who would be best to call to find out? My broker? Absolutesky? The SEC?
jeffreylmarshall. If you feel the need to beat your chest or whatever else find another board. No-one here is in the mood to hear " I told you so"
Does anyone know what Staples stores in Ontario are using ABSY's product?
I would imagine the test stores are still up and running as the ROI was based on a 5 year timeline. Other than some of the 15 stores are in Montreal I don't know where the other ones are.
Thanks for that
I find the comment "Then we have to request permission to announce publicly.. This has always been a problem amoung our customers" interesting. For one customers is plural. Are they saying that they have customers that we don't know about? Is it that RFID technology is still too Big Brotherish for some to advertise it publicly? I've seen some anti-rfid protests on youtube. And then there's spychips.com
Hi MrT11. Yes I'm still invested here.
I'd be interested in hearing the response to your email as the responses to my inquiries all seemed to come from the same cookie cutter. I think there would be less anxiety among their investors if they would just update us on their website every now and again. Good or bad.
Has the fat lady sung?
This thing just seems to be dying a slow death.
Look how fast the Market Makers got off the bid. They still don't want to own this stock but they want to sell it to you with a 300% spread. Dirty #$@&
I agree. Encouraging to see some upward movement for a change.
That bid price sure does drop fast though when there's selling interest in the pipeline
Hopefully this means they're too busy to reply
Looks similar to this from Feb 10 2009
The same news in a month story.
Thanks for your inquiry.
The performance at the existing Staples stores has been exceptional, with substantial savings exceeding expectations. So great prospects even during these economic times.
We have been installing at the Staples stores in Canada, and are negotiating a national chain-wide roll-out.
Hopeful for installations at other Canadian and US retailers this year.
We have not issued any PR's largely on account of the market and economic turmoil. Should be in a position to update the market next month, sooner if practical.
Thanks for your continued interest and support.

The bid seems to be rising so lets hope good news is on the way
Is news coming?
I'm getting no response to my emails from investor relations. Not sure if thats because news is just around the corner or they are just tired of hearing from me. In the past they have always responded to polite requests for info.
If ABSY is reading this
May 20th you said news in six weeks. Your six weeks are up. I'm usually not such a stickler but I was also told six weeks back in February 09. I would rather hear six months if that is the truth. At this point I think that is all your long time investors want.
Very well put downsideup
The stock price may be at a 3 year low but the company is in a much better position than it was 3 years ago. What's that old saying? Buy broken stocks not broken companies.
Don't forget Staples in the US
With the cost of tags being in Canadian dollars Staples US would get a significant discount right now. We've been told they are watching closely what's happening north of the border.
Some reading on the Intellitracker patent filing

I'm just saying if you want answers get off your ass and email them. Spin on that.
info@absolutesky.ca - It works - try it
I'd try info@absolutesky.ca until they come out with an official press release like they've done in previous years.
Shares Outstanding
The last time I asked was Dec 2007 and was told this;
There are 36 Million shares outstanding, most are restricted. Free Float, last count, was about 6.2 Million Shares. Management shares are restricted and non-trading.
Does anyone have updated info?
Come on Pinocchio
You can do better than that.
Most all of those trades went off on the bid yet the price goes up. Glad I don't day trade penny stocks. I'd lose my shirt with that type of logic. Your right though, must be very small float.
Wow that ran up fast on low volume
Good find. Thanks
Having a second retailer onboard would defiantly help. Right now Staples can pretty much call all the shots. They might be just dangling the carrot of nation wide rollout to get the cost, as he said, to come down a "little" bit. Still a very positive story. One would think other retailers have to be reading this stuff and gaining interest.
How will recession effect IT spending?
A little light reading here. Hopefully Staples US side will follow this logic.

The way it was worded
I wasn't sure if they meant starting or finishing by the first week in December. Either way it is like you say a worthy performer in the long term. A few new things explained such as how the anti tampering works and a better idea of per store cost to Staples. Under 100,000 per store. We might be safe to assume then that it is somewhere between 50,000 - 100,000 per store total cost at present tagging numbers.
More info on additional 10 store expansion

Wow. Thanks for posting that
I missed that one. Think we're going to hear a new name soon now that Staples has put their seal of approval on this. If this expands to the US we are in for a sweet ride. Was a little hesitant buying at .022 recently but glad I did now.
Many thanks for the info Organo
Especially since it's so hard to come by.
Maybe Robert Egery was IR. lol
Like I said in my last post
"Send IR a polite email if you would like to verify this response."
Sree. No one is going to move a stock by posting to these boards. I was simply posting information for fellow shareholders. I don't expect anyone to believe without verifying first. I respect your right to short a stock as I have shorted many myself. There may well be time left to be short this one but there's no need to insinuate I'm lying without first emailing IR to verify what I posted is in fact correct.
If anyone gets any additional information from IR please post. Thanks
IR's response to a friends email
Had this sent to me by a friend. Send IR a polite email if you would like to verify this response.

Will there be an update on how the 5 Staples store order is going anytime soon?
Absolutesky Investor
Thank you for your inquiry.
The five stores performed extremely well and were declared a success by the customer. Negotiations are underway for roll-out chain wide in Canada.
A release will be forthcoming in early Fall.

Are you long this stock? My question was to ABSY investors hence the ( Not Shorts ) at the end of the question.
Questions to any ABSY investors. ( not shorts )
Assuming there is a Canada wide roll out and the shares outstanding are around 36 million ( as they told me last Dec ) what would you consider fair value for this company's stock?
I would imagine there have to be other companies watching how well this roll out scales so how much of an effect do you think that will have on the PE multiple?
Yes we couldn't have asked for a better comment from Staples than that. I see there is a "short" posting on the Yahoo board. I hope they are prepared to cover in a hurry.
It's in referance to the pilot Staples ran ( before ABSY's pilot ) with passive rfid tags for supply chain tracking. ABSY's active tags are not meant for this part of the supply chain.

Never mind I found it. It's from 2006.
Can you send us the link to that article?
