I see, So Mark and I are liars? umm.. interesting.
Call me stupid what does TIA stand for?
After careful thought.. Choosing my words carefully for this board is hard. I have signed a do not disclose . That being said. I hate that the stock price is where it is at. reeltime does not deserve to be sitting in the penalty box. I spent a full week at reeltime with my husband Mark. I went to help, with Barry's mom passing, it was a little tough. Monday when I showed up at 8am. I had to race down to a meeting with a major studio at 9am. I sat next to Barry, mind you he just lost his mom hours ago and was there at her death, and we told him we would fill in. He still came. I was glad he was there because he really knows his stuff and has definitely earned there respect. No it was not Sony or Disney. It showed me a side of how much control major players have and how complex the landscape is. Through out the week, I sat in on conf calls with other deals,
learned about the tech side and how the conversion to the 2.2 platform will take place, How you break down a movie and how long it actually takes. WOW.. I feel stupid, and I am a vain woman.. I just had no idea. Mark tryed to explain, but you do not know until you see it for your self.
As an underwriter who is here to protect banks from default, my nature is to investigate,( and Yes I am still in business) So please do not think for a second I have not done my due diligence on reeltime. Anything Mark and I do for the company the CPA is on my heels for a paper trail.. Mark and I made a choice to invest in this company, a start up company. We are both very surprised with the level of professionalism and accountability around the financial side of the company. Mark had met previously with the audit committee, the compliance guy, and the accountant. We are convinced that this company has a very real chance to pass the audit first time through and that the next steps are very well under way.
The company has an undeniable excitement in the air. They do read the board although try not to and generally have a “we will show them” attitude. The tech team is amazing and although I know I kept knocking them off topic they were always willing to take time to explain things to me and even run impromptu reports.
I spoke with just about all of the employees about how they view things past and present and one thing is very clear. All that I spoke with felt that the last four months or so have been the best yet for the company and that the believe whole heartedly in Barry and his ability to make this company a success. More than one told me that if it had not been for him then they would have left long ago. I do admit that having my own expectations shaped by some comments on this board that I did not expect to become so in line with this philosophy. It was not Marks original expectation either but after only a few days he was telling me that the board has it wrong. In speaking with Joe he was very anti-Barry himself before he began working in the offices and with the rest of the staff. He can tell you his story and thoughts on Barry himself but since he has been discarded by the board as a Barry pawn then you can draw your own conclusions as to how he feels now. Mark has spent a month and a half now in the offices and he and Barry push each other to exceed. Mark has been able to take suggestions from shareholders and others and helped to provide the extra manpower to get them done with the help of the whole team.
Dave Craddick has put multiple deals together and we were able to sit in on some of the calls that really got me realizing the potential and real momentum that is going on. I am certain that now that there is informal communication via the blog that we will all learn of them soon.
The company does need more people to get all of the work done but the group that is here is very dedicated. This is a startup but much more developed than most. My style is to smile and keep a keen eye for BS and inconsistencies. I had my own discovery agenda and have been fed plenty of ideas of what to look out for. Most of what I had been warned about has absolutely no basis whatsoever. The rest is miss stated or non-consequential. At this point I am more confident than at any other time. I will however continue to smile and keep my eyes open. You asked what I REALLY thought after being there. My husband has not only been there but is going back there. I would not encourage him to do this (there is plenty for him to do around here) if I did not believe. I recognize that there are obstacles but I REALLY believe that something very special is going on here. That in all likelihood it will not matter what some say that this company will not be able to be held down. That the current management is the right management and that they will continue to attract more and better qualified people who will see the vision. They have convinced Both Mark and myself, Joe, Mark Cramer, and most importantly the staff that this is a chance of a lifetime and one worth being dedicated towards. Our money is and will continue to be where our mouth is. It is firmly behind the company and its current management. If this makes me unpopular here I do not care. You wanted honesty well here it is. I will not make any comments about past management other than to say that I encourage them to continue to be part of the progress for they will in all likelihood be very proud to have been part of this and are welcome to the party on the beach.
Let me collect my thoughts and get back to you. I will answer
in all honesty.
I am sorry you feel that way.. I know 100 percent it is valid and true. The waiting I must admit really sucks. I am very impatient like the rest.
