Having been involved with a company that was accused by a disgruntled former employee of dumping toxic waste into the sewer system, not much recourse for the company. The EPA and FBI showed up at the company and at the owner's farm, took alot of samples and computers and paperwork, and left. The owner paid over $200K in legal fees and was finally found completely innocent in court. The Feds never even as much as said "sorry" and he had to eat the legal fees. Let's hope LLEG comes up clean as well, but it likely will not be a simple path to freedom. Really wish MBB and the team could focus on growing the business instead of defending themselves--assuming this is proven to be baseless. I just hope and pray this isn't another SPNG (Moskowitz), PBLS (Alonzo), RUSL (Berman), or TRGC (Sers). In the case of SPNG, didn't the SEC charge them right up front with fraud?
BBFL,
Are you back in Florida or still in Indiana? I'm still holding for that penny so I can sell off about $10K worth and put it toward a new truck. My 17 year old Toyota truck got pounded by hail on the highway last night here in Ohio on our way from my son's cancelled soccer game.
Till .01 prints, I'm holding my 13+M shares tight. Even after, only $10K worth gets sold off (simple math!).
Anxious to see exactly what our remaining role is in Berlin, but meanwhile, there's plenty more in the hopper to make me happy.
Long and strong!
If (When!) this finally gets approved, just think how in demand our LLEG management team should be! Pulling off the myriad of challenges associated with the Berlin effort and overcoming the constant din of spencerforhire/jon's naysaying should make them/us a preferred partner for future biomass endeavors. I am getting anxious as I sold off GMCR and UA stock just before they both took large jumps--used the money to increase my LLEG holdings. Patience...
LOL! Only two things off--that kid has rhythm and hair!
I'm still patient, but I sure am getting anxious to see this rocket launch. Almost bought another million shares today with some IRA funds that just cleared. Go LLEG!
I'd like to join him for that cigar and blow some of the smoke in Paul Alonzo's face. Should be a great 2011 for us LLEG longs!
I did! Still no love, but will try again tomorrow. Still feeling really good about the future here.
Ameritrade just gave me a 5K partial fill. Will somebody please dump a few shares so I can finish my order?
king,
I like your style. Momma wants a new car too and I keep telling her she has to wait for LLEG to hit a penny. Thought the 23 Oct news might do the trick, but I had her hopes up prematurely. If it hits two cents, I am going for a new truck for me too. Would love to drive it up to Berlin for our celebration bash.
I'm still hanging back on MBB's commment a month or two ago, when he blogged something about "lambs becoming lions". Let's hope our lions roar in the next 30 days.
Whoever started the Hillary thread, thanks alot. I can't sleep now--I keep picturing those 'cankles' when they show her wearing a skirt (sorry...).
Go LLEG! It may be wrong, but I am remaining long and strong.
I had heard PA was stuck ankle deep in a batch of fresh concrete on a boat headed for Poland. He was looking for the first installment on the $6B payment.
Speaking of PA, wonder if he taught the dog (what was her name, Maggie Mae?) how to shake hands and who in the church she should not shake with.
A biomass plant vs a paper mill: Anybody ever lived near a paper mill? In Dayton OH, the Appleton Paper facility REEKED! You could smell it several miles away. We used to play softball games on their fields and the stench was nasty. Ever smell a nice wood fire? Seems the folks in Berlin would welcome the better aroma and the tax revenue Laidlaw brings.
My only issue with Laidlaw is the picture of Bartosek with Hillary Clinton. I almost sold my shares when I saw that.
Right or wrong, I'm long and strong with 8M shares.
Only 1.5M shares left. Was down $23K

I have a few past due divy checks coming 'SOON'. Can I borrow against them?
They were due in the next 'sixty days or so' we were last told several months ago. To misquote Kent Brockman from the Simpsons, you can't spell "soon" without "so"...
Shucks, Loof, you guys are making me feel totally inadequate. I am 'only' down $11K in RSDS (still have a mental problem saying "loss"). I sure do miss the old Russell indicator tail and seeing the improvements in the Loofman shack back when we all had false hope. Course, that was when there was talk of actually someday mining uranium, not shareholders. Think we can find another pile of uranium sitting by the side of the road? Maybe Jimmy Hoffa's body?
My father got his first divy check for $261, postmarked 7/31, but he has been in Boston visiting my aunt for the past few weeks and I have not gotten verification from him that his check deposited safely. I think our second quarter checks would be coming this month if only. Do you still consider it accrued interest if you never see the 6%?
What I find additionally disturbing was tied to a comment somebody posted over a month ago that the "checks were getting signed in the next few days right before PA goes on a two-week vacation." (we assumed that included divy checks) How could he have taken vacation with all the crap that has been flying here? I'd be working 24/7, especially if my Preferred III cash cow depended on making PBLS fly.
Still long but not feeling very strong...
Makita
Haven't seen or heard anything in awhile on our EVSY (Watch-It) dividend shares. Aren't they supposed to become free trading this month? Will FM and Big Apple give them a classic first-rate pump job so we can get some benefit out of them?
Skier,
Every so often, I sit and stare at my bright red negative $12K number next to my HISC shares in my Ameritrade account and get ready to jump off the cliff and be done. This evening is now the second time this year I've taken a deep breath before putting in the sale order, opened the ihub link to HISC, and read about a visit you made to the HQ. Once again, you have somehow talked me off the edge of the cliff and I'm going to keep the faith and let it ride a bit longer. You remain one of the company's greatest assets, my friend, and I appreciate (at least I think I do...) you sharing your impressions from the visit.
"Still" long, semi-strong, and holding out hope for a shareholder celebration...
Makita
Ditto Roach! I was about to type the exact same response to McDuck. Great minds think alike?
Absolutely, the price dropped in mid-June when we were expecting our big financials and again with the Komex deal. In fact, as often pointed out here, it drops almost every time a PR is released. Who else in early June thought we'd see PBLS at ten cents or more by the end of summer? I sure did and talked a bunch of folks into buying ahead of the mid-June PR. At least some of them still consider me a friend!
Holding on/holding long and expecting to see my first dividend check dated 7/31 in my mailbox 'soon'. Lord knows I need it, my wife has found a new Caribou Coffee to stop for some foofoo coffee drink every morning.
My father got his divy check. I was in DC and saw it with my own two eyes. He hasn't cashed it yet and it was only for $219 (approx 150K shares converted), but it was there. I cert'd 500K shares and have NOT received my first check.
OT: Our alma mater is getting pasted, down 24-0 at the half. Let's hope this isn't indicative of what our Cajun friends from PBLS are doing to us. From how you described him, PA could have played a couple years on the line at LSU.
I still wonder if the first dividend checks went only to the smaller conversions. Your check alone would choke most companies, PUN.
Go Tyrod!
PUN,
OT: It's worth almost as much as our HISC stock, thank you very much. No divy check today either.
When are you going to quit lusting after my lovely wife? Face it, the first time she spent $3 on a Starbucks coffee, you'd want to give her the boot. Speaking of which, who is the evil person that came up with the great idea to put a Starbucks in a Target?
Seriously, I sure hope our Hokies can make a decent showing tonight! Rumor has it our offense will start to show us something 'soon'.
Makita
All,
Has anyone who traded in 500K or more shares for the six-cent preferred deal gotten a check yet? The only check I know about is my father's--he traded in 150K shares and received a check for $261. I'm wondering if, due to cash flow, they have only mailed out the lower dollar ones thus far. This delay is killing me. My wife has now spent the first check for a fourth time (I should have bought Target stock and paid myself first) and wants to spend it again for her birthday tomorrow.
Speaking of stock, don't ever expect my buddy PUNTANG to buy at the ask. He eats his Sunday afternoon meals at Wal-Mart cause they have free samples and often walks thru hotels to snag the apples at the front counter.
LD2,
They never gave a PR'd date for dividends ("...soon..."?), but my email from Carolyn Alonzo said 'thirty days after the end of the quarter", meaning they should have been going out the beginning of August.
I am a bit miffed in that I've played along with them thus far--got my certs for half of my shares and traded in about 20 percent of the shares for the preferred deal at six cents. My reward? No dividend check yet and those who delayed taking the preferred deal now can get eight cents. At least we continue to earn interest but my wife has spent this first dividend check three times already!
Still long but getting whiny...
Makita
Anybody have an update on the six-cent preferred share dividend checks? The language stated they would be mailed 30 days after the end of the quarter, which means the end of July. 14 days later and still no check. Are they being hand delivered? Should I expect to see my check 'soon'?
TIA,
Makita
Loof,
You still got it! Thanks for the laugh
Makita
I understood it to be the first checks for anybody. I've been on the road for work for the past four weeks and cannot wait to get home and find a check waiting for me. The drop from 3.4 cents to now was doubly painful as I got several folks from work to jump in before the 15 June financials release. The upside of being out of the office (and having a busted Crackberry) is that none of them can give me the evil eye. Hopefully, they'll be thanking me..."soon"!!!
Thanks to all for keeping the DD flowing through the past few weeks. Like all the other longs (and you flippers), I am hanging on and am anxious for something big to happen and send us back north.
PUNTANG, mick,
Dead on. Here's the reply from Mrs Alonzo I received in May: "The first dividend check will be distributed approximately thirty days following the end of the second quarter of 2007 and thirty days following the end of each consecutive quarter. This dividend will be calculated from the date we received the certificate and then for every ninety day period thereafter."
Hey PUN, send me your new email address already. We've got to get a Tech trip lined up so I can outdrive you again on the 9-hole 18 course.
PUNTANG Lives!
Sheesh, man, I was afraid you took the detour to FL and was sitting in Norris Hall in mid-April reminiscing about the last time you had any of your name. Glad to see you back on the circuit. Did the house sell? If so, how come you didn't buy a ton more shares with all that equity?
Add 2.3M shares here as well. Only reason I don't have more is that I stopped trusting your recommendations when you stopped hanging out at the Tiki Bar!
Makita
My Ameritrade account switched over this afternoon--the position still shows GLXI, but once you click on it, it shows UMNG and its chart with the statement "The symbol you entered, GLXI, changed to UMNG."
Teomax,
Here's the reply I posted a few days ago about when you should receive your preferred shares cert. Mine arrived today--note it was received by them 13 April.
"Your certificate is being sent to you via Certified mail on May 16, 2007. The first dividend check will be distributed approximately thirty days following the end of the second quarter of 2007 and thirty days following the end of each consecutive quarter. This dividend will be calculated from the date we received the certificate and then for every ninety day period thereafter. Our records indicate that we logged your certificate as received on April 13, 2007.
C. Alonzo"
For those wondering when the preferred share dividends will be sent, I received the following message today from Mrs Alonzo:
"Your certificate is being sent to you via Certified mail on May 16, 2007. The first dividend check will be distributed approximately thirty days following the end of the second quarter of 2007 and thirty days following the end of each consecutive quarter. This dividend will be calculated from the date we received the certificate and then for every ninety day period thereafter. Our records indicate that we logged your certificate as received on April 13, 2007.
C. Alonzo"
Well, at least Briboy didn't tell you the final vote count, so maybe that will be a surprise.
RSDS is up for a great week. BoooooYaaaaaah!
Hey Briboy, how come you left off Bob Lilly and Norm Bulaich?
Hey Loofman, er, TekNuLoof,
Can you please PM me with your email address? I've got an investment question that I want to seek your wisdom on, if you're not too loaded on the bourbon this evening!
Thanks,
Makita
dak,
Count me in on the pancakes. I'll bring the OJ and some fresh ground Kona coffee--nothing but the best for the RSDS crowd. Bought some more today myself at .001.
Appreciate this group more every day!
Go RSDS! Boooooyaaaaaaah!
fmi81,
You also left out the apostrophe in "let's". :_)
Sorry, couldn't resist. I agree with what you're saying and I tried to say that in a comment yesterday, although less eloquently. I think folks don't want to feel like they're investing with Forrest Gump's Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, although that was a hugely profitable venue, albeit fiction. Hopefully, PBLS' numbers will blow Forrest' boat out of the water...
The folks who should be getting ragged on for the video are the scriptwriter and script editor from Big Easy Holdings.
GO PBLS!
OT: LD, you and JohnIraq are absolutely cracking me up tonight! I figured the SewerUrchin looked particularly appealing to some of the lower forms of life we've attracted lately. I'm afraid, very afraid, to find out what superhero Loofman might pick. For me, it's Captain America all the way. I've always wanted to get a scrip for the super soldier serum or whatever that stuff he takes is called.
BTW, I'm not sure you can call that a lawn yet at Chez Loofman. You might find yourself in the briars instead. It's gonna be some party when it happens--steak, ice cream, Old Loofman 'on tap', and boat rides with makes. I almost forgot the scooter races, yippee. Bring the kids!
Thanks. Just sent you a list of edits to consolidate with what you gather. Appreciate you taking this on.
OT: I propose a toast to Uncle Flix. Tessie is charging everyone's dixie cup with the latest batch of Old Loofman. Congratulations!
Seconds, anyone?
