CNTF ~~ TechFaith and aigo Launch Feature-Rich Multimedia Mobile Phone
BEIJING, May 11, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- China Techfaith Wireless Communication Technology Limited (NASDAQ: CNTF) ("TechFaith"), an original developed product provider focused on research and development of cell phone solutions, and aigo, a leading brand in consumer digital products marketed in China, today announced the launch of a feature-rich multimedia mobile phone. a68 boasts a 3.0" WQVGA flat touch screen and supports RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, 3GP, 3GP2 and MPEG4. The mobile phone was designed with a built-in 2D motion sensor and 10 pre-loaded interactive games.
Defu Dong, Chairman and CEO of TechFaith, said, "We are optimistic about our latest mobile phone launch. Working with aigo, we were able to design a robust mobile phone targeting casual and business consumers. The color touch screen also makes our latest model an ideal platform for gamers, which is why we pre-loaded so many game titles as a standard feature. We believe our phone will be competitively strong in the marketplace as we have added various other bells and whistles not typically found on mobile phones while only charging a mid-range price. For example, we have a VIP function to keep call records secret and a feature to allow forwarding of calls, contacts and other records when a consumer dials in remotely from another phone. Another unique feature is a trace function, which will send an SMS to a preset number when the phone is powered on after the SIM card is changed and will allow the phone location to be traced if lost."
Feng Jun, President of aigo, said, "We are excited with the launch of the MP5 mobile phone in the China market. TechFaith has been an ideal partner for us. We were able to leverage the strengths of both companies to design and manufacture what we believe will be a real winner. Importantly, for aigo, this launch further extends our brand and product portfolio in the multimedia segment."

For sure I'm NOT afraid of making money!! :)
Strong long-term investment with huge potential trading below CASH with the first step into the gaming market with A LOT (imo) more potential here...1/3 of the engineers and professionals are just working for the games what means approx. 250 and this is a lot of manpower jmho...and as I stated earlier I could imagine to see a similar way of CNTF's gaming division to CYOU...at least I hope so...
Pre-Market: 1.83 +0.10 (+5.78%)
Fasten your seat belt! :)
CNTF ~~ Great NEWS imho if I see what happens on Chinese gaming websites so Changyou.com Limited (CYOU) is running on a strong earning outlook today...
CNTF last 1.70 +0.15 (+9.67%)
CYOU last 34.72 +2.57 (+7.99%)

CNTF ~~ TechFaith Subsidiary to Launch Chinese Mobile Game Website www.798uu.com
http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/China-Techfaith-NASDAQ-CNTF-980595.html
BEIJING--(Marketwire - April 28, 2009) - China Techfaith Wireless Communication Technology Limited ("TechFaith") (NASDAQ: CNTF) today announced that its subsidiary, One Net Entertainment Ltd., is scheduled to officially launch the Chinese mobile games website www.798uu.com on May 12, 2009.
www.798uu.com will feature single player mobile games and MMORPGs (massively multiplayer online role-playing games). TechFaith plans to help drive site traffic by offering pre-loaded mobile games on cell phones developed with its co-branding partners. Players will initially be able to download and use the games for free. One Net Entertainment Ltd. expects to later charge gamers for downloads and usage.
Defu Dong, Chairman and CEO of TechFaith, said, "The official launch of www.798uu.com will mark an important milestone for our game business, especially for our mobile game business. China has long been one of the world's largest game markets, with numerous popular game titles rather than a concentration of one or two offerings. The fragmented nature of the market creates an opportunity for us. Our goal is to build site traffic by offering compelling, feature-rich content for gamers. As 3G availability becomes more widespread in China, we plan to work with additional business partners to offer even more robust games with video, higher-resolution graphics and a variety of other compelling features. We are optimistic about www.798uu.com's potential and look forward to its success."

China Techfaith Shares Fall on Speculation 3G Gains Excessive
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601080&sid=a7HRt7RUeNtg&refer=asia
By Chua Kong Ho
Jan. 14 (Bloomberg) -- China Techfaith Wireless Communication Technology Ltd., a Chinese maker of mobile phones, tumbled the most in five months on speculation gains following the issue of so-called third-generation licenses were excessive.
Techfaith Wireless dropped 17 percent to $1.55 on the Nasdaq on Jan. 13, the most since Aug. 19, 2008. The stock gained 78 percent Dec. 30 through Jan. 12 on speculation the issue of 3G wireless licenses will spur spending on new handsets.
“The stock is due for a pullback after the excessive gains on the back of the 3G developments in China,” said Kevin Wang, senior analyst at ISuppli Corp. in Shanghai. “The focus now is on network development and it’ll take at least a year before handset makers will see any tangible benefits.”
China’s State Council, or cabinet, gave the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology the approval on Dec. 31 to issue licenses for high-speed wireless phone services. The ministry issued the permits on Jan. 7, clearing the way for as much as $41 billion of related spending.
“We are aware of the share price decline yesterday and the gains preceding yesterday’s fall,” said Jay Ji, Beijing-based director of investor relations at Techfaith Wireless, in a phone interview today. “We have no information that can explain the stock movements.”
Services based on 3G allow faster downloads of Web pages, videos and music to handsets. China is home to more mobile-phone users than the combined population of Japan, the U.K. and the U.S.
