Like I said, Paulie Konerko took him under his wing this Winter and proclaimed he was ready to now become an All Star. I hope he was right.
MATT DAVIDSON!!!!! #3!!!!!!!
Darn it! Needed another Blue Jays run to get Chapman in the game!!!!!
More on Davidson, Paul Konerko took him under his wing this off season and worked on his swing, then predicted that Davidson will be an All Star this year.
WOW! Matt Davidson is the first player in the Stat Cast Era to hit 2 HR's in one game with exit speeds in excess of 114MPH!
Did not know he developed arm issues. Used to be decent fielder?
Shoot, have to wonder if that is for real. Blackhawks made up a story for a past Cory Crawford drunken injury and some are starting to wonder if they may have done so again this year. Rumors were swirling that he was in a drunken snowmobiling crash?
White Sox Power! Matt Davidson and Tim Anderson both have two big bombs today so far. Abreu has one for good measure.
Nice! BTW, grabbed Matt Davidson for $1 late to be my DH until I could find a better solution through FA moves, since I spent so much on my C's, Chapamn, Kenley and Correa, and he now has hit two monster HR's in consecutive AB's while just barely missing getting over the fence in his first AB. He started to break through last year, but may have really done so now!
Oh, I got why you were wondering, just wanted to let you know what he was talking about. Sadly, my Hawks had a clunker this year, but think they can be like Boston and come back to the championship level quickly.
HOCKEY!!!!
OK, getting worried my White Sox may be in the Wild Card Race this year. This lineup is looking pretty darn dangerous. Really want them to have one more round of selling at the trade deadline this year, as they have some very nice trade chips, especially someone like Wellington Castillo, as if he is raking, power hitting C's that can field the position can bring in a mighty haul!
Looks like Stanton got the year started right!
LOL! OK! Yankees are going to be a lot of fun to watch this year. Glad I have three of them in my lineup!
How the heck is the Yankee game delayed? Thought they were in Toronto????
Chapman may look fine in Wrigley for days where it is cold and wind blowing out, but he is going to have some outright disasters during the warm summer months!
Depending on how things break, both the Brewers and the Cards have a chance to supplant the Cubs. Do not get me wrong, as I believe if that happens, the Cubs would be one of the Wild Card Teams. Just do not think they are set up anywhere close to as well as they were in 2016 or even last year and not sure they have the bullets in the minor leagues to bring what is needed over. Really should trade Schwarber for that, move Happ to LF and make Almora every day CF.
LOL! I can tell you that some of their fans here in Chicago would think just that way. That said, going to be a tough year for them. They may not even be the best team in the Central. Then they will also have to get past Washington and LA.
That is right, you have a new manager this year, don't you? Last year we know they would not do it correctly!
As for Nimmo, looks like Conforto will be off the DL by late next week, which will once again create a log jam in their OF. One of the reasons why I went with Hicks over Nimmo.
I have always like Plawecki. Still, no one is going to come close to touching my Catching this year in our 2 C league with Contreras and Sanchez bopping away!
Cubs need to trade Schwarber for MLB Pitching and prospects ASAP! He is still an accident waiting to happen in LF and needs to go to the AL now! Any Cubs Fan watching him dive headfirst into the LF wall today had to cringe!
Quintana is the only one I think you can count on for the entire season. Darvish is an arm breakdown waiting to happen.
Gut tells me this is going to be close to the norm for the Cubs this year. Going to get into a lot of softball score type games with that pitching staff.
I may regret not grabbing Nimmo, but hard not to go with Hicks in that situation.
Saw a couple of clips of Soler on MLB Network and he is looking fearsome. Slimmed down and bat speed seems to be up. Did not see him in the field, but with the new slimmer build, he should be moving better.
As for Cuthbert, he should be spending some time at 1B as well for Duda when facing lefties.
They need to get him some DH time too. As for Orlando, he should be playing on the top side of a platoon with Gordon.
I could be wrong, but think their pitching is better than they are getting credit for. Perez being down for the first two months though could be an issue.
In the AL Central, I would not be surprised to see Cleveland, KC or MN take the division.
LOL! Happ worth the $10 Keeper! First pitch in all of baseball in 2018 hits a monster out to Right!!!!
Biggest gift last night was getting Haniger for $1 near the end of the draft!
Have to agree with you on that! Have Duffy, Moose and Soler on my team. What is the skinny on Soler in KC? He had a huge Spring and looked like the monster everyone thought he would be.
I need Soler to be the player the Cubs thought they had when they signed him! If he comes out of the gate playing anywhere close to his levels in the Spring, it will buy me time for my Minor Leaguers to make it up. Also, could be a huge get for $1 late in the draft.
Roll of the dice on Andujar at that point in the draft. Can sit back and hope the situation clears up quickly, so long as I do not need that spot on my roster. We no longer have an IR, but went for 6 player bench to 7 last year. Have Eloy Jimmenez and Francisco Mejia also stashed, so bench is a bit crowded with minor leaguers to start the season. If a player flat out breaks out, I may need to drop one to get that player and I can guarantee it will not be Jimmenez. Hopefully either Andujar or Mejia are up in early May.
Yes, also have Ohtani. Could not pass him up for $3 and knowing I could keep him next year for $8. Not sure if I can play him in the first couple weeks at P or DH? So first few weeks are definitely going to be rough for me. That said, with my keepers and then spending the big money on Sanchez, Contreras and Correa, I have a monster lineup!
I just need Bird to be Bird and should be good with Andujar. While it is sad, this is an ongoing issue for him. If Andujar gets his chance and rakes, he may that job his.
Poor desperate owners had to take both him and D'Arnaud! LOL! I went nuclear, buying Sanchez and Contreras. If they stay healthy, my C's alone will win me many weeks!
Keep Bird out of NY! I got Andujar on my team and need him to come up and rake. Looks like I am a Yankee watcher again this year. Got Sanchez back at C, but had to spend a ton, Chapman for my closer, Hicks in the OF, Didi and hopefully Andujar soon!
Had to choose between Nimmo and Hicks. Not sure how Hicks had slipped into the post Auction roster draft, but he was there and I had to grab him. From there went with two pitchers the next two rounds and T. Frazier the next, so by the time I was going for Nimmo, someone grabbed him right in front of me. That said, may pay off big time, as I followed with picking Andujar from NYY. Gut tells me he could be the starting 1B before April is over now that Bird's foot issues are back.
Yes and in addition, Happ gives me flexibility to move him to OF and bid big if bidding on someone like Correa is not as intense as expected. Cannot let him go cheap! I have had him since he came up, although last year had to spend $40 on him. Not sure I would do that again with the rest of my MI basically in place.
