Sex and the City .....can't wait to see all those boobs in 4K!!!! ...LOL
Hey, you are right...the HD version is much clearer....but I couldn't pause the video with a clean pic...White board in background had something about "Imax" and the stack of film cans moved too fast for me to read....damn. wish I could have read more titles.
Saw both NY Times pieces...Print was a so-so about 4k roll-out with a brief mention of UF. The Video, however, was great!
PS, love the detective work and screen captures of the films NTEK is converting to 4k!!!
Damn FINE detective work!!! (wonder why they wanted NTEK to convert the films to 4K????? hummmmm......)
According to hightower, the PinBall is glassless 3D...for what it worth dept. as for 55 sec into the video.
More excited that H-265 is FINALLY avail for license! How long for NP-1's to upgrade??
20 yrs of 4k movies tossed in the crapper! What a waste!!
http://4k.com/news/20-years-movie-titles-filmed-4k-nobody-bothered-save/?utm_source=MESA+Email+Newsletter&utm_campaign=9f366b6836-my_google_analytics_key&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f57b24d15f-9f366b6836-86804969
Did they say anything about being 4K?? been watching this development for months but no mention anywhere about resolution...
FCC rule change proposal for on-line tv streaming channels....

First...not very impressive...no flash or glitter.
Second....staged, the "player" has a badge so he's a floor worker of some type...prob works for NTEK.
Third.....The whole booth looks very low budget...really disappointed.
Any word if the PlayStation streaming TV networks will be 4K??
DUMB question time...What's the difference between "120" hertz and 120 frames per sec? Thought they were the same and sony's new 4K TV's already have 120 frame rates...think I saw a 240 as well......
Old NEWS...we got this early this morning....I WANT NEW news!
Media Div includes both....hence the non-argument as to an audit. Even with an honest audit, the books would look the same and hide the mix.
Look at the 12 million during the year and the 1.1 million during the qtr. now look at cost of sales. I thought the fig was hinkie last qtr as well...and the huge cost of sales. Best guess is the bundle agreement they had/have with that Korean TV Co. The cost of sales included the cost of the 4k Korean TV's....hence the smellie margins. This last qtr appears to be more inline with NTEK hardware sales.....maybe to that same Korean Co who is using NP-1 guts in their glassless 3D sets. And, who knows, maybe a few shipments to Ingram to start having some inventory on hand. All-in-all...like the new margins!
Anybody remember Enron or Arthur Anderson? Even audits can bite you in the butt. Even legit audits can hide stuff by what is not said or combined into a ledger. point being, don't trust anything as "a word from God" if it comes from mgmt.
That being said, I expect great things from NTEK just based on it's position in the 4K cycle.
JVC...are we finally getting a non-smart 4k TV to sell with an NP-1??
http://www.twice.com/news/tv/jvc-65-4k-uhd-tv-available-days/54157
Sorry Numm's I missed the link....looked at the FB pages to find it....my bad. That being said, prob just a re-hash of sony and Vis. I was hoping for a third biggie to join in......
HEY Num Nuts....gotta link!?? sounds great!
" now on Roku hosted by NanoTech Entertainment"....what does that MEAN? "hosted by" ??
Hummmmm, is this Sony story related????
http://www.fierceonlinevideo.com/story/sony-ups-its-stake-online-content-tv-service-launch-looms/2014-09-22
More interesting was the lack of forseeable cable/broadcast competition.
"As more content becomes available, more consumers will be willing to pay a premium to buy 4K TVs. There will be no 4K content on cable or satellite in the foreseeable future, so that content will likely be streamed. Surely that is the impetus behind Vizio’s strategy to include UltraFlix in its newly announced P-Series Ultra HD TVs."
IF you really want to sell em, you don't put up that big of a order for all to see...you break it up into chunks and put out more orders when your smaller order was taken out. You put up walls when you want to accumulate shares at a cheaper price......just say'n
Also note, the proprietary methods in Sony TVs are from Nano's 4k studios.....
Is it Just me or.... is sony deal a little bigger than an App button on the screen......
from a post on the nano FB page posted 4 hrs ago
NanoTech Entertainments #4K Streaming app #UltraFlix will stream UHD video on Sony displays using HEVC/H.265 compression standards along with NanoTech’s 4K Studios proprietary methods.
WHAT "PROPRIETARY METHODS" Did sony lic some tech as well!!????
"Come out to the State Social House at 8782 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood tonight at 8pm to see UltraFlix demonstrations on the NP-1 with Sony, Samsung and LG TVs."---From Nano's FB page, Sept 13th.
Sounds a lot like the BestBuy Blog....wonder if BB's putting it on....If so, NOTE the use of the NP-1 for the Demo....guess they are using it for the non-sony's??
With BestBuy using UltraFlix, Anyone STILL think they won't be stocking the NP-1??
That's HUGE news A PR/blog FROM BestBuy saying they will be USING UltraFlix to demo 4k TV's!!!! All MUST read the link provided by ThrowinShapes' post!!!!
Time for traders and Johnny-come-lately's to start bailing and taking todays's profits.....put your limit bids in now if you want to take advantage of a temp dump!!
NTEK HAS said that their UltraFlix app would be inbedded with a large number of 4k devices---not just smart TV's.
Naaah, way to big a leap to assume NP-1's in sony tvs. But, remember they are integrated in the new glassless 3-D TV's being released in Korea later this month.
Didn't we just get another big jump in Vol?? (hey....I'm an old fart and short term mem is shot!)
Sub-text of the sony quote part of the PR.....
“Our decision to bundle UltraFlix with our next-generation 4K Ultra HD TVs was based on our continual quest to deliver the most immersive viewing experience that consumers are seeking,” said Nick Colsey, Vice President of Sony Electronics. “We can now provide our customers with the industry’s largest number of options for streaming 4K VOD content combined with the best 4K Ultra HD TVs available in the market. UltraFlix’s secure media delivery system, combined with our state-of-the-art displays, provides the best in consumer entertainment.”
Is it just me or does the way this is worded imply Sony PAID NTEK for the placement!???
Is Sony news big enough to attract so decent programming to Ultraflix??? No wait, Doesn't Sony make and distribute some fairly decent Movies it self???? Hummmmmm.
Niko---Best fig in your post was 1 million 4k's shipped per month! (I'm sure that has to be world wide) hell of a potential demand!
Well, didn't see the word "Ultra" or "4K" anywhere....or the word "streamer" eather. Different tool for diff app.
2-B, HATE to say this, but I think you hit the nail on the head....looks like they are already making the case for filing for an extention for the 10k.....I fig maybe mid Nov.
Future M&A news! ( I read this as "small if any divie, no stk buyback any time soon, more dilution) NOT good.... but NOT bad. Depends on the deals. But I'd rather have them spend cash instead of the issue of new shares.
