EPA Registers Vertigas20 -- Green Gasoline to be Produced by VertiBlue Fuels
GLOBENEWSWIRE
9:55 AM ET 05/01/2024
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, May 01, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Blue Biofuels, Inc. (BIOF) .
VertiGas20, a renewable gasoline product, is now registered to be sold as 20% blends in conventional gasoline to help mitigate transportation carbon emissions.
VertiBlue Fuels, LLC, a 50/50 JV between Blue Biofuels (BIOF) and Vertimass, will start producing this renewable gasoline as one of the first products coming from the production capacity that VertiBlue Fuels will realize.
Blue Biofuels, Inc. (BIOF), is pleased to announce that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved registration for blending up to 20% of green gasoline with conventional gasoline. This new renewable gasoline product, VertiGas20, is made from renewable ethanol by the joint venture’s licensed technology from Vertimass, its Consolidated Alcohol Deoxygenation and Oligomerization (CADO) technology.
VertiGas20 is a new generation of fuel which can be used in current gasoline vehicles (approximately 340 million in the U.S. alone) without any engine modifications. This will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from existing cars and other gasoline powered engines.
Blue Biofuels (BIOF) is planning to produce cellulosic biofuels which will further reduce the greenhouse gas emissions either when the cellulosic ethanol is used as direct blend in fuel or if it is converted into gasoline or SAF for use in transportation.
"VertiGas20 represents a significant step toward producing more renewable fuels, compatible with the existing infrastructure, which will help mitigate climate change," explained Vertimass Chief Operating Officer Dr. John Hannon.
Blue Biofuels (BIOF) CEO and Chairman, Ben Slager notes: “An interesting factor is that this enables gasoline vehicles to become more green without replacing them with electric vehicles, thereby offering more choices for the green consumer. Moreover, when Blue Biofuels’ produces cellulosic ethanol with its Cellulose-to-Sugar technology, this will add significant further CO2 reduction to the VertiGas20 fuel by providing cellulosic ethanol, with a higher carbon reduction rating, as feedstock to the VertiGas20 production. This will be a winning combination for the environment and for the Company.”
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, Jan. 23, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Blue Biofuels, Inc. (BIOF) . Blue Biofuels Inc. (BIOF) and Vertimass, LLC, have created a partnership to employ Vertimass’ proprietary Consolidated Alcohol Deoxygenation and Oligomerization (CADO) technology to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable propane and butane (rLPG) as co-products from ethanol. This new company, VertiBlue Fuels LLC, is equally owned by Blue Biofuels Inc. (BIOF) and Vertimass.
VertiBlue Fuels has the immediate objective to build a facility in Florida, which is anticipated to produce an estimated 10 million gallons of SAF and 2 million gallons of rLPG in its first year. Upon completion, the Partnership will expand SAF production to approximately 70 million gallons and rLPG to 14 million gallons, annually. The facility will initially convert sugarcane ethanol, followed by using ethanol derived from Blue Biofuels’ CTS (Cellulose-to-Sugar) technology. The creation of this partnership is a transition from technology development to production and represents the first step in building an end-to-end integrated continuous process for converting cellulosic biomass into SAF and other sustainable biofuels.
Blue Biofuels’ CEO, Ben Slager, states, “I am very enthusiastic about this partnership with Vertimass. It confirms our dedication to pioneering sustainable solutions in the aviation industry and producing biofuels. Our joint venture's objective is not only to produce high-quality SAF but also to contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions. We are excited about the positive impact this project will have on both the environment and the aviation sector, and it is a clear step forward from Biofuels development to production."
Vertimass President and CEO Dr. Charles Wyman noted, “This partnership represents a major milestone for Vertimass, as it will move our breakthrough CADO technology to commercial scale and feed conversion of cellulosic biomass to SAF. The need for SAF in the marketplace continues to grow as airlines and governments around the world commit to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Vertimass is delighted to be at the forefront of this growing market and looks forward to our low-cost CADO process contributing to reducing carbon emissions that feed climate change.”
Blue Biofuels (BIOF) and Vertimass are committed to the highest standards of environmental responsibility and innovation, and this partnership represents a pivotal step towards a more sustainable aviation sector.
Can someone explain how it goes from .1118 in stock price to .10 with only 700 shares traded resulting in a -10.47% drop?
Blue Biofuels Increases its Land Holdings to Grow Feedstock for Biofuels to 182 Acres - This was posted April 20th........
Once Giant King Grass is planted, it can be harvested at 3 feet tall (1m) for biogas production after 40 days, and subsequent harvests are every 25 to 30 days. For other applications such as pellets or biofuels, it is harvested at 13 feet tall (4 m) after195 days and subsequently every 120 days.
This puts us at Nov. 1st if planted on April 20th, which I assume was not, to reach its 13 feet height. Then it has to be harvested and converted.
I can only hope some news comes out soon.
No trades today. Everyone must have gotten out now except the management team and us 70 in this chat.
Absolutely zero trades today? Weird.

Re-N-Vision Awarded Department of Energy Grant to Test and Develop Blue Biofuels' CTS Technology in Equitable Energy Transition
Blue Biofuels, Inc. announces that Re-N-Vision, LLC, based out of St. Louis, MO, has received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I Department of Energy grant for $199,902 with the title "Disadvantaged Community Bioenergy Feedstock Consortium in Urban Areas". The grant was awarded under the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Funding Program joint topic "Community-Driven Solutions for a Just and Equitable Energy Transition". The CTS technology of Blue Biofuels is chosen by Re-N-Vision to test the processing of agricultural and cellulosic waste into bioproducts.
The Phase I project will utilize Blue Biofuels' CTS technology to process samples of agricultural and cellulosic waste to ascertain convertibility, yield and efficiency of these new specific feedstocks. Re-N-Vision is in contact with the Missouri Department of Agriculture, and has received a letter of support for this program. There are tons of agricultural waste currently discarded that offer the potential to be acquired at little to no cost.
Re-N-Vision's focus is to build a consortium of stakeholders in disadvantaged urban communities that will strengthen economic growth, local infrastructure, and community dignity, while producing environmental benefits within the community by growing, cultivating, and/or collecting plant-based feedstock and waste, and processing it into saleable bioproducts.
Upon completion of Phase I, Re-N-Vision plans to apply for a Phase II grant, which is up to $2.2 million. The plan for Phase II is to utilize kilotons of agricultural waste as feedstock to create bio products. If Phase II is successful, Re-N-Vision plans to apply for a Phase III grant, which can be several million and is made at the discretion of the U.S. Department of Energy. Blue Biofuels will collaborate with Re-N-Vision on all future phases of the project.
