THANK YOU TORO
I have XP and most likely will not have Vista for the Olympics although I do know someone with Vista. Anyway your thoughts on TVTonic are very much appreciated. I'm sure there are many others who appreciate you efforts. Thanks again, and hopefully Wave has a few surprises up its sleeve in the coming weeks.

Weets- How are you? Hope all is well and I hope that I can speak for others that we miss your presence. August should be an interesting month!! Have a good summer.

Pipeline HD sighting...
I was looking through PC World (the latest issue) and there was an ad that said "Welcome to your Media Playground" Part of the ad had the Seagate Wave logo with an explanation that included the Seagate Pipeline HD...with room for 500 of your favorite movies. Its the Moneual 902 Ali. I saw that the Pipeline HD was going to be available 2H 2008, but this was the first product I remember seeing with it. I wonder if Wave ends up being involved.....
Awk - Thank you for that WXP patent information. Happy 4th everyone.
Barge - Question
How are we making the connection that Olympics on the Go is now also Home PC/PC extender on your TV? I really can't see what you are pointing to in Maynard's post that indicates this. Please let me know...
Trusted Mobile Phones....
Brian Berger said on April 9th, "And soon users can benefit from trusted mobile phones..." Seems like there are a lot of new cell phones out there similar to the iphone, but without the security to measure up to enterprise standards. TCG, Wave......
Well we are coming up July so I would think that 'soon' would qualify at some point here.
Does Wave have one more bullet in its arsenal before a potential PP???????
Helpfulbacteria - Thank you for all your efforts. I hope you are doing well. Genz2
Helpfulbacteria- I'm reading all your post this morning. THank you. I remember when Wave had an agreement with One Name years ago. Do you think there is any kind of agreement left or can you give in your own words what this XRI means to trusted computing and any idea how LONG to be implemented. I would read the PPT link but I don't have PPT and this particular link doesn't work. Thanks again. Genz2
May1sep2 -
I believe this was posted by someone this weekend. They saw it in Orange county Staples flier. I saw it in The Hartford Courant Staples flier. I was certainly excited. I wonder if Barge would care to comment on this being marketed as an enterprise device rather than a 'consumer device':). He probably has a couple of questions for Seagate:)
Question for Internet(Jas)
Internet - you had mentioned that Seagate was totally committed to the FDE drives or something like that. I was just wondering if that is the case then why is Seagate spending very little on marketing this new product. Any idea what they are waiting for? I'm not calling the Future of Computing event from Dell a real marketing event on Seagate's behalf. Do you think they are going to do something on this on their own? Your posts are very informative. Thank you. Genz2
OT - Verio - one of the companies in the list....
I checked many of the companies in the 'list' provided at the ASM. I thought Verio was interesting. It is a subsidiary of NTT North America which is a unit of NTT. So even though NTT seems to really be dragging its feet I was happy to see this.
Brian Berger quote-
Does anyone have a link to a TCG blog I believe where Brian Berger said that trusted phones were coming soon. It was probably a couple of months ago. Thanks. And thanks to Barge for your great DD even though I think Wave is going to be going with a Nokia (TCG) before they go with Apple. JMO
Unclever has the 1st quarter transcript posted on unclever.com. Thank you unclevername.
Thanks... I don't think I'm going to check out the Yahoo board though:) I sure would like to see Wave start to make money. They have had a few tries and having a few reference accounts along with the NSA endorsement one would think we should see the light at the end of the tunnel:)
titlewave - Where is it located on the site? I can't seem to find it?????
Upgrades...
Has anyone been able to calculate the upgrades for the 1st quarter to determine what 4x for the second quarter so far? And if Dell can now say that Seagate has NSA certification shouldn't that make it a no brainer for a company thinking about adopting FDE. We have well over 1000 enterprises who have checked the product out. Shouldn't Dell begin to see some of these 1000 enterprises order and reorder. SKS said that Dell and Wave were in a pilot phase during the 1st quarter. Uh, when is the sales phase? I'm not counting the 4 referenced accounts. Does anyone know? TIA BTW, I haven't listened to the call as I like to read the transcript on unclever.com.
Robert I...
Just out of curiosity, where are you coming up with 75k for FDE seats?
Waveduke and other Wavoids-
I've read things like we 'expect' to be cash flow positive back in 2007 and many other things that were advertised a certain way but did not come out that way in the future if you know what I mean. April and beginning of the year - who knows. SKS has helped to keep this technology set for the launch pad and many of the shareholders have made it through lower and lower PP's. "'We' think the rest of the year is going to be a very exciting time for Wave." I'm willing to give SKS 2008 to make this statement true. I've waited 8 years so whats one more!
Waveduke and Robert I...
This is what was said during the 3rd quarter cc re: the 1 mil:
We have over $100,000 worth of business that I think we have pretty-that we've closed already today- and we have about 20,000 seats - a little less than 20,000 seats - that we believe could close in the fourth quarter, which ranges somewhere in the 1,000,000 to a little bit more than 1,000,000 range depending on how the pricing of those seats work out. There are a couple of larger accounts in that list and we expect those accounts to close in Q4. It is possible that they'll close a portion of that business and not all of that business in Q4. If that happens we would expect the balance to happen the beginning of the year.
I guess I'm not sure why we hired this firm. Are they supposed to boost the stock price? Anyone?
Seagate...
I think if Seagate just started shipping, well....
SKS said that there are some companies on an automatic cycle for buying FDE pc's. He said this in the last quarterly call. I suggest reading the transcript for the 4th quarter on unclever.com. It will give you some 'flavor' for where we are. If you really want to get excited read some of Dory's posts from a little while ago. If true, it could be real good.
Seagate earnings call - 5 pm
If anyone listens to the Seagate earnings call please share your findings on the remote chance that we hear about FDE drives. Thank you.
Some NFC news...

Hey Wildman262,
I wonder when Brian Berger said that we'd see trusted mobile phones soon, if that meant 6 or 12 months. Remember when FDE with Dell was coming out 'very' soon!!! I guess we'll just have to wait some more.
Barge - couple of questions...
When you read all of the Wave material out there or a lot of it one can become dizzy. How does Wave figure into the DAVE/Seagate mix and is Microsoft involved here? I remember something about Microsoft and Netflix potentially with the XBOX? Is this part of that too or something separate? Thanks for all that you have contributed and I think it would be great if the Consumer space unexpectedly shocked the Wave Enterprise World.
NAP - Microsoft
I don't know if this link has been posted but it certainly sounds like server Windows Server 2008 has a head of steam. The sales for NAC were 200+ million in 2007. I wonder where we are now in 2008.

Muenchen...Re: SKS and the 7th
Others have said that SKS will probably be at RSA on the 7th. You make a good point.
Thanks Countryboy!!!
Re: Insider buying
I believe at the last Shareholders meeting that SKS said that he and other employees were maxed out buying Wave through the companies ESOP and that if they were to purchase on the open market they may have problems if real positive news came out. They don't want to get caught in a position that looks like insider trading.
I have a question for the board. Did SKS really get a 20% raise. Did Feeney really get a 32% raise? I'm not quite clear on that. Anyone know?
The $4000 item I believe is a server. I don't think manufacturing one is like burning a CD. But its interesting that both are temporarily out of stock????
Wavxwizard- thanks again. Does it make sense to purchase a Dell laptop without the FDE? I know SKS has an obvious vested interest in FDE but he said this at the last SRA conference:
"This is - no one should be buying a laptop without buying a Full Disc Encrypting hard drive. It's just a foolish activity. The liability exposure is so vast compared to the incremental cost for a laptop."
I just thought that was interesting. Thanks again for sharing your story.
Genz2
Thank you Wiz for that info. I'm sure it doesn't have one, but you didn't get an FDE or did you? Do you know if anyone at the 'O' is getting them? TIA
Sampling phase... SKS said there were about 1000 FDE Laptops shipped when it was first launched at the end of July. That was a period of 2 days to a week depending on how you read what he said. He also said that the majority of the customers were smartly purchasing ERAS but that most of these purchases represented sample buying. The sample ERAS server has 20 seats. If you have these 50 customers purchasing the Dell Latitude's with FDE in December that would be some volume and the majority of the customers that Dell started working with were high seat customers. I'm sure Dell/Seagate/Wave sampled out more that 1000 laptops from July to the end of December. I think if Dell is doing 50k or less per quarter then there are some real problems we don't know about. JMO
Bad News Bears...
I feel like I've been on The Bad News Bears for the last 8 years. Didn't they end up winning?!?!
I have an idea. Why doesn't the board increase the strike price on the options to 10 dollars a share. I think the shareholders have taken the brunt of the pain for the last few years.
Go kite - Its post 158750.
Its always great to get a few laughs.
Thanks Wildman262.
Cosign - I think Doma would know....
From what I remember but I could be wrong, Dell sells 1.5 to 2 million Latitude 630 and 830 per quarter. I like the 70-75 cents on the ETS 3.0. Hmmmmm.....
Wavedreamer:) I think everyone's handle should be that. I think everyone has tempered expectations about how Wave should perform for the 4th quarter and subsequent quarters given the many letdowns. I'm not good at predicting the numbers, but I have a few reasons why things might start to heat up at some point:
FORBES
BUSINESSWEEK
WALL ST JOURNAL
NEW YORK TIMES
THE ECONOMIST
USA TODAY
EWEEK
COMPUTERWORLD
INFORMATIONWEEK
BIOSPACE
CHEMICAL AND ENGINEERING
GOVERNMENT COMPUTER NEWS
I'm sure there are others, but a powerful message is being sent through these websites and publications. The other message is that Dell is committed to make this happen. I think that is what has stood out for me lately. Best of luck to you,
Genz2
Cooler...Quick Question...
Does your Dell come with the ETS 3.0? Just curious if you could find that out.
TIA
Cosign, I've entertained other thoughts as well. If Wave were to be closing other contracts with companies the cash on hand may not show up to be sufficient to these companies liking. Dell comes along with a new offer (the 3.0 licensing deal) to have more nearly guaranteed money to Wave. Wave can then say its covered and thats assuming the licensing deal was big enough. This of course brings in two unknown variables - the royalty per ETS 3.0 unit and on which computers these are being put on. If we could just figure out these two variables for sure....
Wonder what Seagates going to say today. It'll probably be low key if Dell's secure Latitudes are doing well. I guess we'll know soon enough.
