The students play that Iso-Torque just like it was one of Dr. Destler's Banjos.
Creating an "empty chair" for this message board...
wasn't necessary for you to do as a moderator. The point being made was the time frame that was outlined (12 - 18 Months from September 27, 2011), not the politician's viewpoint on just how many jobs might be created. How exactly could a discussion about a Torvec press release not be on topic? Even a discussion about a politician's job's expectations as a result of a Torvec press release have to be on topic. Maybe you should refresh yourself with the duties of a moderator of a message board and get in the chair. There is always a first time for everything.
After being misled about Torvec for many years...
it can be hard to sort out the truth from the speculations. As a moderator of this board, I wish, you could refrain from misleading newbies on this board by saying that the ISO PayPal sales will make us rich. That is not true. I agree that the pump will eventually be the company like Mr. Kaplan has explained. It was the pump and motor that made me invest, not the Iso-torque. I'm glad that Torvec is working on many new products for the pump and motors to be utilized in. I believe, like you do, that the pump will be the big money maker. However, while we are waiting for that second product, the pump and motor, we can enjoy the monies that the first product the Iso-torque will provide once it is commercialized. Mr. Kaplan has indicated that the Iso-torque will be first to commercialize and I believe that will be the correct ordering. As far as the jobs go, we all recognize that politicians count jobs much differently than business people. By her count, there may already be more than 60 jobs created. It seems to me that Maggie will foster Louise's retirement quite soon. We must remember all the good that was done for our community by Louise and be excited about how that will change for the better with Maggie.
You'll need to contain your excitement as they...
did say that it would take 12 - 18 months when they announced this at the end of last September. There is no need to follow your buddy Jim's projects that are not active; is there? Why don't you let them go and just follow the active ones.
Is that a differential or a pump on the table in the photo? It sure looks like an IsoTorque differential to me.
The announcement of this effort was 09/27/2011 ...
What we are suppose to take from this is that it is still moving forward as planned. The details were in the press releases from last year. We are just one year closer to the end result. Here are some links to the information from that time.

If there is no money in the differential...
then one would have to wonder why there is so much effort to upgrade the technology by the automakers. For example Ford is working with a Quaife LSD for the Ford Focus RS:

It was the racetrack touts not Carnival Barkers...
This was discussed back in January 2008,(post #13454).
“The current letter to shareholders sounds as if it was written by a racetrack tout,” said George Conboy, president of Brighton Securities Corp. “I think all but the most foolhardy investors would give their stock wide berth and read their press releases with deep skepticism.”
AT least we don't have that problem with press releases anymore.

It's not that I don't want to share...
It is just that there is no need to as you can get it the proper way.
In the article, they included the "developing and marketing of technologies for the commercial pump industries" in the description for Torvec as well as the usual automotive stuff. I'm thinking that this is a good sign for the company.
What did you think about the article when you read it?
It's in the print article on page 25...
Rochester Business Journal has a Torvec article today...
Another user of a mechanical limited slip differential...
In my opinion news such as this is...
very good for the Torvec shareholders.
It seems that most of the OEMs are moving in a direction to recognize the demand for a mechanical limited slip differential.
It provides the safety factors that they are looking for with a simple design (as compared to the non-mechanical versions) and and much lower costs.
Since there are patent protections, and since there are essentially only two sources for this technology (the original Torsen that the Gleasmans invented and the IsoTorque which Gleasmans later invented), and since the Torvec IsoTorque technology is deemed as being the superior technology, it seems to me that each time another OEM recognizes the benefits, it can only be a good thing for Torvec.
It is just too bad that it is taking so long.
What do you think?

You might want to "change-up" your daily post...
just a little bit each day, as...
Sorry, I thought you were wondering about ...
The way that I remember the facts were...
a bit different.
Nissan, as I remember it, only requested a quote, they never made an offer to order anything.
They (IMO) may have never received the quote.
Hyundai took equipment and tested it for a year, making modification request(s) along the way.
Torvec modified the equipment to suit Hyundai.
The next natural step is what is happening (IMO).
I think that the per-lap comment is something that interests the crowd that they expect to be at the auto show.
Remember, this whole thing with Hyundai started with them putting a "New" Torsen in the Genesis.
(Look for Tortech's comments in this message board.)

Now FMC is touting a "new Torsen" in a mid-year model of the F-150.
http://www.sportscarillustrated.com/News_2011/F/news11_573.html
This is the way that it works ...
Front page story today in Rochester Business Journal...
It details lots of additional information in addition to the standard press release.
Why don't we just take a moment and...
just enjoy the satisfaction that Ford Motor Company is marketing one version of the new F-150's mid-cycle refresh by featuring the "new Torsen" that performs exactly the same as the Iso-torque from Torvec.
Isn't that wonderful?
Marketing a version of the best selling truck in the world and all the maketing is based on the performance of a differential and a camera?
The question to ask is when will this mid-cycle refresh be available. I think that will be sometime around March 2012.
That will be plenty of time to build all the Iso-torques needed.
Don't you think that fits into the timeline outlined by DK?
What's the hurry to know for sure?
What are you going to do with that information?
Are you going to buy or sell shares today if you knew the answer today?
