Bruce,
Sure thing

Looks like the score went up by about 1000 to 5430.

I have Win7 64bit up and alive on my 6750 CPU, with an Intel G2 80GB SSD.
I'm not going back voluntarily. There's a lot of stuff I need to install, et al, and I LOVE this config.
The SSD is way slick. Things just ... happen. Highly recommended.
rr
Bruce,
Excellent advice. You should get a commendation for that, so here. Attaboy!!!

ps: Intel G2 SSD is on the way to my house ... W7 64 bit, here we come ...
TD Ameritrade does indeed offer TOS software. You need to ask Customer Service for it, though.
Good luck,

I'm an old Google user - it's my home page. I have Bing as one of the dozens of tabs I keep open in Fireox.
Every time I didn't like what Google gave me for a search, using Bing gave me what I was after. Very good hit rate. I find myself thinking about using it first more and more.
I'm starting to dislike iGoogle's interest in pushing new stuff in my face, as well.
Won't be long, I think. Need it to cross my own personal CCI line ...

Not to stick my nose in, but I believe there's some impact on US equity prices because of the decline and future decline in the value of the $US.
That'll give you more run on the Fib's for price. Not sure about time ...
But, TJMO - ICBW.

Are you using a DVI cable, or an VGA )well, technically a DB-15 thingie ...) cable?
Some times, it makes a difference.
DVI's usually better.
Corsair HX850 PS review
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/21613-corsair-professional-hx850-850w-power-supply-review.html
Money quote ...
Considering just a few short years ago Corsair was a newcomer to the power supply market, it is truly amazing to see how far they have come. When you look on any forum across this great expanse we call the internet, you will see their units being recommended again and again. This trend led to several retailers admitted to us that Corsair’s power supplies routinely outsell their closest competition by a factor of three to one. Make no mistake about it; that’s a hell of an accomplishment and the HX850 is poised to continue this legacy.
When it comes to the HX850, it seems that Corsair has brought a bazooka to a gun fight. It is simply head and shoulders above every other power supply we have tested and routinely beat the pants off of 1000W units that cost double its asking price. Incredible voltage regulation, ungodly ripple suppression and high efficiency have all been rolled into one appealing package. The HX850 is also extremely quiet as is befitting of a high efficiency power supply and has a durable exterior finish that holds up well to some serious abuse. There really isn’t much more one can ask of a power supply in this price range.

Gleno,
Thank you for the SPX work.
Might want to try a more mellow index like RUI or MID? They seem to me to have a bit less 'high frequency' noise compared to SPX.

Whoops in edit ... just read the rest of the thread. Never Mind !!!

I think your registry is screwed up from your anti-viral experience. The icons are disassociated with the programs.
Anyone remember how to fix that?
Try google 'fix rebuild Windows icons'?

OT: The subject of executive compensation is (unfortunately) currently centered on Financials.
The Management of most non-Financial big companies have been taking a huge amount of compensation out of them for decades. Still are, even though the margins / earnings don't hide it as well.

The SSDNow is a rebadged Intel SSD, I think.

There are two parts to the stuttering problem.
One, cache solved - just suck the incoming data onto the SSD, and tell the OS to go away.
Two, TRIM / 'self-healing' will help solve - allow the SSD to reallocate dirty space to 'clean blocks' asynch to the write.
There is no doubt whatsoever that SSD's will be a 'built-in' storage media eventually. Dunno about booting from PCI devices, but really, the RAID card guys do it. Then, you'll see GB transfer rates.
Raptors are doomed ...
rr
I continue to shop 64GB SSD's, because I'm only using about 35GB on my Raptor boot disk now. Everything else is on a WD 1TB Black and WHS. Those aren't remotely full.
Besides, then I can afford to roll down 'old' SSD's into notebooks, old machines and the like.
All the best,
rr
The secret sauce to any SSD is the controller, not the NAND memory.
There are three controllers of interest in the market now, from Intel, Samsung, and Indilinx.
All three controllers appear in a number of SSD's under a number of brand names. Samsung is hot at the moment, because the Intel G2 SSD got yanked. Indilinx is hot because it appears in what were lower cost 'non-stuttering' drives (with old jMicron controllers). The review you posted has some background on the subject.
Any SSD with a 200+ MB/sec read speed will blow up a Velociraptor. The issue has always been how to deal with writes (cache and block blanking).
This has been a great techy summer topic ...

The Skeleton case is on my Windows 7 wish list. I've just about had it with noise and heat.
And, no, I do not have a cat.
I cannot decide between the Corsair PS and the Antec Signature.
Now, if only Intel hadn't botched the BIOS on the G2 SSD's ...

Starting about 11:45ET, my 1 minute $RUI chart has gone price flat (3 point range) and the CCI(20) looks like ... it kind of is having it's signal splashed / jammed.
I expect more of a ramp on the GS news.

evilSpeculator posits an up bounce to suck in bulls, screw bears, before the next big decline.
GS will be good for more than one day this week.
All my short term indicators are pointing up. Keep in mind, I trade off 1 minute charts.
Got upside targets ?
And, Gleno, welcome back.

To make your machine available for incoming Remote Desktop connections, you must be running Professional or Ultimate edition.
