You're definetly one of the reasons why I "lurk" on this Board. I am impressed with your ability to read the dow.
Nice to hear from you Plash! Chart reader does seem to get "The big picture" right. Your observations on his stock calls are correct, as I noticed he missed on his INTC call, and even on this stock, as I remember him suggesting to sell at anything over $13.15: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=28743524
Looks like he can read charts very well, but doesn't put much into fundamentals consideration, Although his service does appear worthwhile. Is Chart predicting we bounce off the March lows for the Dow, or something else? I just haven't joined because I don't trade much, I'm still picking up bits and pieces from sleuthing around on the boards, trying to learn something.
So what happened to Plash? Plash, are you out there?
Yah, that post(19901) wasn't around too long. Now I notice the charts are missing. Does anybody know what S2's comment was? Sure has been a while since he's sent out any Emails.
Thanks, Plash. Anybody Go long on RVBD yesterday?
Hey Plash, What Happened to Chart? I kinda liked his analysis. Suppose I should go pay for it.
S2 Likes SIGM at This price as well, for you people that dont subscribe to S2'S Email reports here goes his take:
Hey guys,
I think it's time to start nibbling here. SIGM I think offers a most
amazing opportunity today. I'm not using the official $10k account for this, but
will say for your personal accounts, SIGM at now $20.40, down today after
earnings almost $5 is a gift. Why? Well, just read this...
http://seekingalpha.com/article/68401-sigma-earnings-analysis-shorts-should-soon
-have-to-cover
Make your own judgement, but this stock trading today at a PE of under 9
and a growth rate near 40% year over year and a tiny 30 mill share float has all
the things you'd expect in a monster money maker when the market turns. As I
said, much of this carnage in the market is mostly due to 'deleverage' where
many large funds were too long the market and now are being forced to just
liquidate everything regardless of price.
That means you get to pick and choose from their woes. SIGM could still
fall further as that tiny float means any large forced seller could have a
dramatic impact on the price with no one out there currently willing to buy it.
Don't pile in if you think you want it. But you rarely find tech stocks with
growth rates like that and free cash flow like it has and as profitable as it is
trading under PEs of even 20.
S2
Agreed Plash, that's a great post. I feel the half point cut has already been factored in, we wont get much rise out of it. The fed can't keep lowering interest rates and will eventually stop due to inflation and that's definetly gonna hurt the market.
I live in CT and my company has been laying off (I'm safe for now), we're a service company and us Techs drive about 1000 miles a week. It costs over $100 to fill the tank each time and that's just one of the many factors that is killing us.
Hey Chart, Thanks for the analysis.
This board is much slower than I'd thought it would be, Where's S2, Plash, CBS, Johnber?
Wonder if uncle Ben will try and save the day. Its probably too late for Mr.Bernake- He's lost the confidence of the markets. Thanks to Plash for being right. He definitely saved me some cash.
Dubai.
Great for DIVX but, What the h*ll is wrong with RVBD?
Here's an interesting link that will hopefully give DIVX a boost. http://tinyurl.com/2pgpst
Unfortunately, the chart in post #321 keeps changing so S2's description doesn't make sense to me. Is there any way to have a chart that doesn't keep changing because I really wanted to learn this. Thanks!
S2, Do you have any book and/or site recommendations to learn technicals and option trading?
Ditto, Ditto.
Syndicate-What's your take on ZRAN? I think its ready to go higher(but what do I know). RVBD doing nicely- Thanks again for that linear regression tool, its great to play with. Chris.
Hey Thanks Syndicate, thats a neat tool to play with. I appreciate the advise. Chris.
Looks Like RVBD tanking today, anybody know why? Just the general market, or is there a specific reason? Looks like I might want to get back in today. Chris
Thanks poor user, thats just what this board needs! Some knowledgable posters that like to swing trade that can teach us skulkers a thing or two. thanks again. Chris
Syndicate two's RVBD board Link: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=10888
Thanks Syndicate, I'm glad you had me wait, you were right, I never thought we would see low 30's! Chris
Appreciate your expertise, I always read the posts on quality boards like this to learn. Glad to see you haven't given up on posting, Thank you for your generosity. Chris
Thanks Rambos, I needed a laugh ;o).
Dang Syndicate, you were right! CFC up 8% right now. Should've listened to you, oh well my OMTR up 7% so I shouldn't complain.;o)
I appreciate the knowledge that you've shared on this board, I've learned a lot so far. I am looking forward to the new board. Thanks, Chris.
Syndicate, What's your take on RVBD right now. Do you think its got further to fall? Thanks, Chris
jbo, Do you follow ACUS at all? I was thinking you might have some insight w/your cardiac Knowledge.
Do you still think $37 is a good target to buy RVBD?
Call me a dummy, but how do I sign up with an email address? I can't remember if I already gave my email address when I signed up with Ihub.
S2 I second that request, CWTR's chart looks appealing to me (but what do I know). I might take a nibble monday morning also, I'll probably sell most of the position before earnings because I hate "events".
I agree with bbpork, maybe a RVBD board or just a general discussion board would be good. Your analysis and advice is very much appreciated and will certainly be missed by all of us. If you're going somewhere else please share it with us. I didn't visit this board everday because I liked Marvell(I sold weeks ago) I came here because I liked you. :o(
Sincerely, Chris.
Question for Syndicate-Is it illegal to short your own company's stock? This may seem like a Dumb question but, I'm just a low man on the totem pole- not an officer or anything, or would it be still considered insider trading, even though I am not privy to any such knowledge? I am just going by what I have observed this quarter from my own little microcosm. I already dumped all my shares in my 401k, and am glad I did.
Hi Fish,
Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. In 2005, I was a lot like you, I was simply gambling my money away on "high flyers". I lost about 80 percent of my money before I stopped to figure out what I was doing wrong. Initially I didnt know who to take advice from. There are a lot of individuals on the boards who like to pretend they know what their doing. But there a few people I found to be helpful and Syndicate is one of them (great technician and options strategies) also I like "clovus" over on the (ahem) Yahoo board, he posts all his trades and does fairly well, also my last favorite is a guy on You Tube named Jefferson Krull(Suck My Nasdaq) -He is funny as hell and is also good. and lastly a book I read called "Come into my Trading Room"(swing trading) I like to think that I "reinvented myself" and have done well since.
Chris
I'm just noob, but could you explain what an "es" is?
