I received the same and could not open it either, which might be a good thing with all the scams going around.
As we continue the slow pace of our return of capital from UDF IV, is anyone aware of any progress by Nexpoint's actions towards the Board? I'm of the belief they are our best chance of moving away from the status quo, but I have no idea as to what is happening along those lines.
I understand that, I bought a number of shares in the $3-$4 range as well, outside of the window for the claim. I'm just wondering what the distribution was per share of those that were in the window. I had 125 shares that they approved and another roughly 650 shares in an IRA that were purchased during the fair fund window. I recieved two checks, one for roughly $200 another for $300. Numbers don't quite seem to add up. Thus wondering if those that keep better track of this mess have an accurate distribution per share.
A few questions about the fair fund check that many of us received. After sending in the claimant information, did any of you get an acceptance notice of your claim? On our joint account I received a partial acceptance, stating some of the shares were rejected. On shares held in my IRA, I did not receive any notice. The letter stated that IRA payment would be sent to the Adim. of the IRA, but I did get two checks from the fair fund and for the life of me I can't figure out the per share payment. I noticed that two posts on this site had different per share payments. A fellow investor friend of mine has the same question, what is the final per share payment.. The interest might differ a bit, thanks.
Is this a settlement from Udf III and UDF IV or just IV?
With the shateholders meeting set for Dec. 15th, how early will we be able to see the Bio's on t he Trustee's that we will be voting on? And will we get advanced notice on any of the motions that are up for a vote by the shareholders? Hopefully sites like this one can keep many of us more informed than what we can see on the company website. What good it does is anyones guess.
I see IV and V are getting the same quarterly dividend as in the past or should I say the same return of capital as in the past!
Wasn't there supposed to be hearing of some type in late July? We are about as late in July as you can get, or were they talking '24? And Runaway27, me and a couple buds feel your pain, but we are still in IV.
Does the release of the audit get us any closer to a shareholders meeting, establishing a BVPS and getting UDF IV relisted on an exchange? Or are we going to see the delay game continue to run its course? Regardless, I'll more than likely ride it out at this point and see where it goes.
I recall seeing somewhere that it will be a non-jury case, heard by a judge sometime mid 2024. Can anyone confirm that? It's certainly the old slow moving wheels of justice in play.
Thanks for the heads up, I went back and looked at the the 1099's a little closer. One was from a IRA that I have, so that's obviously taxable, the other was return of capital. Thanks again.
I just printed out my tax forms for UDF IV. It appears that the distributions are taxable this year and not just return of capital. Am I missing something, if so, my mistake!!
Does the Nexpoint case involve the use of UDF funds to pay for the litigation expenses for the convicted UDF officials and to hold them accountable for that misuse of funds? Or are they trying to force some type of investor meeting and vote to increase the likelyhood of an official audit as a way to put a value on the shares for the eventual relisting of the stock?
However if Pershing allows me to do a conversion of my traditional IRA (UDF IV Shares) to a Roth IRA, the 5 year waiting period will apply to the dividends as well, correct. But, in the past it's been listed as return of capital. With 5000+ shares, the .065 dividend doesn't amount to much in a year but if the value is anywhere near the amount listed in the unofficial audit (I might be dreaming) it might be worth the wait. It might take another 5 years to get anything done anyway!!
These units/shares of UDF IV were sold as a qualified investment (IRA) to many people nearing retirement, I happen to be one of those investors. This is the first year that I will have to deal with my RMD. I'm left wondering what share value would be used for the distribution, especially since the shares can't really be traded? Yes I will be talking to my CPA, but does anyone have any insight into this?
I'm not sure which of the options is best. How do you trust the share value without an official completed audit. Udf IV can't be very attractive as a takeover target when you consider REIT's have to pay out 90% of their profits with dividend payments to their investors and we are getting 26 cents a share!!
I wonder when the financial audit of this REIT will be started/completed so they can put a value on each unit/share and get this thing listed and traded again. By the way, what ever happened to UDF 1,2 and 3?
Just some clarification needed in reviewing some older posts here. 1. Are the Udf IV execs. in jail? 2. Is their appeal still pending or was it dismissed? 3. Can they have anything to do with the day to day operations of UDFi? I'm hoping the answers are yes, dismissed and no!!
Any news or speculation on UDF IV, this board has been pretty quiet lately. The real estate market has been on fire over the past few year especially in Texas and we investors have been sitting in the dark, on the sidelines, collecting a small distribution or divy. It has been more than frustrating.
Taking into consideration the finding in the criminal case which resulted in the conviction of the UDF IV exec's, what leverage does the company have in an attempt to reach a settlement with Bass? As they say Hope is not much of a strategy!
How long is the Federal trial likely to last. And what will the impact be on the investors in either a UDF IV executives guilty or not guilty verdict?
Where did you find the $13 value on UDF IV?
I see the 3rd quarter dividend is payable on 9-30 for both IV and V, same amount as 2nd quarter. It would be nice if they would/could give us an idea where the share value is on IV.
Another .065 divvy coming the end of the month from 1V, and a.254 from V. They both must be continuing to do business. Any reason for the large difference in the amount of the divedend between the two investments?
Anyone see the March 30 divvy for UDFIV, a friend recieved his for UDFv!!!
Another dividend of .065 payable on March 30th, they must be making some money anyway during this ordeal!!
The distribution shown on my 1099 was all taxable as well. I'm thinking they are showing some income and it will be interesting if they announce a distribution in March, payable in April. Might need to place call to IR.
An update, just got off the phone with a UDF IV rep, she said there was a glitch in the system, they are working to rectify it and to give it a couple more days. If it's not in my account by noon Monday to call back!!
Anyone else have the same problem!!
I have not, emailed twice and called twice. I was told I would have it by Monday. Waiting for a call back as I post this!!!
Did you get the Dec 11 dividend? Mine has not appeared in my brokerage account as of today Dec.16th?
The UDFi IV declared dividend payable on 12/11 has not been credited to my account yet. Usually it is there on the same day, any reason for concern?
It sure is nice to get a regular distribution, I hope it continues on a quarterly basis. But I'm wondering if UDFI IV can be re listed on a stock exchange before the end of the lawsuit with Mr. Bass?
This board has been very quiet since the dividend pay out. What are the chances we will see another one at years end?
Keep in mind that the class action settlements on IV and V that we received a week ago are completely different from the quarterly(hope it continues) distribution that will be paid on Sept. 30th.
The settlement on IV was $00.2424 per share. I am not in V but that settlement was higher, over a dollar per share. Does anyone know for sure?
I've been hearing some of the rumors of an audit being completed, resulting in a small distribution being in the works!! Anyone else?
Class action settlement on IV and V pertaining to "alleged violations of federal and Texas state securities laws" and "alleged false and misleading and/or omitting information...in the financial statements." The company denied any wrongdoing which is par for the course.
Does anyone have any timelines when this thing will move forward in a meanful way?
Anything new yet with the Bass situation? It seems that the proceedings are moving at a snails pace.
