Any good news regarding a vaccine would turn the market around overnight. Right now the only drug with a chance of near term success is remdesivir. Results should be available in April. This could all be in the rear view mirror as far as the market is concerned in 3 weeks to a month. Hoping for a good trial result followed up by good news from the remdesivir trial.
The answer is yes, you can get a prescription on teledoc and now insurance will pay for using the service. Could be big news for vascepa users.

Which raises the question, are the Tele visits restricted to only those reporting cv symptoms. I'm curious because if it extends to vascepa users not willing to face waiting rooms crowded with potential cv carriers and they could get their prescription refilled that would be great.

I guess we get to test the thesis promoted in a recent article that a break below 14 would see a drop into single digits.

Chinas Xi says coronavirus is basically curbed at its epicenter

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Tuesday that Wuhan has turned the tide against the deadly coronavirus outbreak, as he paid his first visit to the city at the heart of the global epidemic.
Xi’s visit came as unprecedented quarantine measures that have sealed off Wuhan and the rest of central Hubei province since late January appear to have paid off, with new infections dropping dramatically in recent weeks.
During Xi’s trip, Hubei announced it would ease travel restrictions to allow healthy people in low-risk areas to travel throughout the province.
But the measure did not appear to loosen restrictions on Wuhan nor indicate if people could leave the province of 56 million people.
State media also reported that the last of Wuhan’s 16 makeshift hospitals that were converted from public buildings during the worst of the outbreak had closed.

Oil prices are tanking because Saudi Arabia has initiated a price war reversing their attempt to prop up prices.
The Chinese are already mass producing remdesivir anticipating a positive outcome from the trial.

From a Reuters report on the cv in Italy
The national health institute said the average age of those who had died so far was 81, with the vast majority suffering underlying health problems. Just 28% were women.
The fatality rate from the illness in Italy, which has one of the oldest populations in the world, is running at 4.25%, higher than in most other countries.

Off topic but is relevant to recent discussions because it concerns the coronavirus and Gilead

Must've gotten mixed up in there. The u migrated and you swallowed the e.
I read that. I also read more detailed articles on the subject. Snopes is not reliable.
The people fired were in the Executive branch and from what I can find consisted of 2 people. They were part of the national security team. The cdc was not defunded and in fact their budget has increased.

A word to the wise......
My experience from previous crashes tells me we can't hit the bottom until we capitulate. That's the point at which 90% of retail investors abandon all hope, throw their shares in the dung heap and are willing to accept any small amount for them. We're not there yet. I previously thought $13.50 would be the bottom. Unfortunately I was wrong. Current conditions suggest somewhere under $5 will be capitulation point. Might be a good idea to ensure you have cash on hand to gobble up some shares at that point, if your faith in Amarin is not shot by then.
Bear in mind, the price action has little to nothing to do with company fundamentals. This is just the nature of the market and the reality of herd mentality.
MRNA currently halted. LDPU code, volatility.
They may be looking for suitable candidates for vaccine trials. Last I heard the Gilead trial in China hadn't begun because it was difficult to find anyone who met the criteria.
Of course. It's in regard to the extension of the shelf offering filed in 2017 but without mentioning the fact that it is an extension. It appears to be a new shelf offering if you just read the Reuters header.
This is up on Reuters this morning. No explanation that it's a filing to keep thev2017 shelf offering in place.

A Bear raid? They wouldn't need to manufacture any bad news. The corona virus outbreak and the lack of future guidance from the conference call gives them all the ammunition they need. Given the volume it should burn itself out soon unless they're taking new short positions which is entirely likely.
He's just roominating in his cups?
This suggests it may be time to take some off the table.

Thanks. With the minimal side effects I'm not surprised it's approved. I was based in Atlanta too. It's been a few years since I retired though.

And, yes, fwiw Baker now below the 10% hostile veto vote threshold. Bidder could go hostile but it would have to be a $ amount that 90% of shareholders agree on. Could circumvent AMRN BOD if they're holding out.
Leland Gershel is at it again.

Scientists in the city at the center of China’s virus outbreak have applied to patent a drug made by U.S. company Gilead Science Inc. to treat the disease, possibly fueling conflict over technology policy that helped trigger Washington’s tariff war with Beijing.
The government-run Wuhan Institute of Virology said this week it applied for the patent in January along with a military laboratory. An institute statement acknowledged there are “intellectual property barriers” but said it acted to “protect national interests.”

I believe JT recently said he was open to new ideas whereas before he didn't want to hear them. If they're just now looking at new uses for vascepa we may not hear anything for a while.
I joined ihub this morning for the sole purpose of linking this article and to use your message as a springboard. It's written for the layman (me) but the paper might be of more interest to experts here. It concerns a new discovery with respect to formation of fat cells in the body and the relationship to omega3. Unfortunately it doesn't discuss which omega3 acid is responsible but it's interesting.
