Those represent chump change purchases, hundreds of shares is nothing significant. I guess it is a gesture, though.
Correct, 'before going to market'. Hopefully they will study many other types, but for this initial push, I believe it is over and they will rely on the data collected from a 10 year study for FDA approval. Some buyer can pick this up and continue the investigation. However, how many cognizant Oncologists will apply the lessons learned off-label? How many of them will apply this treatment for eight weeks instead of four and perform their own mini-study? FDA approval is the key to open a lot more doors. Or a company with a very large check book.
Unfortunately that is very true. How much has the American Cancer Society actually accomplished besides taking in a lot of money? If they really had a cure for diabetes would they release it? There is way too much money to be made providing treatments.
There will be no more studies. The current results of 14% (or 29%, depending on how you calculate it), is adequate to both fulfill the intention of their phase III and take it to the FDA for approval. Hopefully, before this goes too far there is a deep pocket pharma that can look at the results and say, 'hey, this is really somethin, we should try this approach instead of killing people with this poison we have been injecting them with for decades.'.
Good job, Geert! You addressed the situation head on, confronted the concerns, highlighted where MK is effective, called out the population it will help along with the number of treatments that are being planned. You didn't address the timeline, which will be lengthy. What is unknown is when will another pharma see the benefit and pick up the ball from where CVM is now? CVM is unequipped to take this thing through an FDA approval process.
Sushi, you called it right on the money with the announcement. However, I should have known that CVM would not come through at the critical moment, yet again. I recall the time of the arbiter's judgement and the stock was obliterated on a non-win win (Arbiters suck by the way, they never come through as far as I'm concerned, I will bet against them every time in the future). This morning I was devastated when I heard CVM announced with good data. I say this because I was stuck with waaay too many $40 calls I had sold. I was thinking to myself, what did I just do? I lost out on so much cash after waiting for so long. Only to find out I could buy them all back for cheap. That was the plus side, but the negative side is that I lost about $100K after the stock plummeted. All this to say, I hear you. I'm numb. Waiting for some good news that can be harvested from this sea of devastation. Maybe a pharma can think to themselves, 'self, we could really make some coin by offering a non-chemo alternative'. Who knows, maybe this will work after all?
I wonder too what the success rate is if MK is applied for a longer period of time with no chemo follow up? That could really change the SOC and reset the course of chemo therapy. Of course that would be yet another 10 year study, just how long will it take to see success on this ticker?
This is a mixed win. If it had completely failed the stock would have been close to $0 as has been speculated for quite some time. Kudos to Sushi for calling this one, he was spot on and I doubted it. On the plus side (for me at least) it looks like I get to keep my call premiums for yet another month. There is still optimism that CVM is a long term win, however, the win won't be coming as soon as we had all hoped.
I don't think the ASM has anything to do with data release. The data will come when the data comes.
I'm really amazed at the level of group think that is on this board and others. One guy 'guarantees' data by the ASM and many dutifully fall in line to pronounce the same thing. Why? There is absolutely no evidence data will be presented this month or the next or the next.
Just like with any startup, they were likely issued ISOs. Those that are in early have a lower strike price, those that come later have a higher strike price. The incentive is to exercise and hold for a year in order to pay long term rates on the gains. Those that exercise and sell on the same day pay as if they went through your payroll.
The wrench in the spokes of all of this is AMT, the gov't screws you and gets its share regardless of whether or not you win. Scum bags.
Thanks. From what I read about FTD, it was not clear to me how they are finally resolved. It is clear that the normal investor is not allowed to engage in such behavior. However, as you said, I'm sure the opposite party is highly motivated to be made whole.
@Biobonic Can you explain if the FTD shares eventually have to be made whole or are they somehow simply forgiven and forgotten? I'm not clear on their implication. Thanks!
Ditto on July 1. It would be nice to get this show on the road. With that thought in mind, May will be the last month I sell calls. It has worked up till now but at some point it will leave one out in the cold, so to speak.
That article is in the same class as 'anonymous sources in the White House confirm that Trump colluded with Russia!' It is all a bunch of BS, the source is highly questionable.
So do I, fluteman, so do I.
NWBO as a hedge? How about NWBO as a leading indicator? NWBO locked its data prior to CVM, NWBO's trial was smaller than CVM's trial and NWBO has yet to announce results. CVM results will not be announced this month. Who knows when it will be announced but it won't be this month.
I sold calls again this month and am hoping news doesn't come out till after May OpEx. Last week's pop certainly made me nervous.
Droid's buddy Xiden will end up taking over 40% of CVM profits which will be promptly thrown into the bottomless pit of unending spending. On top of that, his buddy Newsome will take another 10% and throw it into the bottomless pit of CA pensions. These politicians only know how to spend money and they will never change their ways. Prepare accordingly.
Thanks for the post, Droid, great article.
Well, win is relative. If TLD comes out I'll be capped on profits. Good luck on your bet.
You bet $50K on February TLD release? Wow, that is quite a gamble, betting that there will be data released in less than two weeks. I guess I'm on the other side of that trade, I sold Feb. Calls.
OR, the analysis is simply taking longer than anyone thinks it should and the most obvious explanation is, in fact, reality. This doesn't require any conspiracy theories or far fetched explanations of their efficacy. I don't think either NWBO or CVM know the TLD, nor can they influence what is going to be released. This isn't a Biden administration where the data is massaged, shaped and filtered to conform to a story line. The data is the data and will be released when it is ready.
Does W_W stand for Wow_and_Wow? Impressive.
About them being in trouble .... I sincerely doubt it. Who has gone to jail for the extensive government corruption that was revealed in the last four years? No one. Who will go to jail for wide spread voter fraud in the last election? No one. Who went to jail for repeated financial fraud that has been endemic on Wall Street? No one. Look who is in power now and consider he is beholden to these financial firms, then ask yourself is anyone will ever be held to account? No, they won't.
That was great ... well done!
This is just momentum trading, I took a chunk out at $30, unfortunately, I didn't get it entered in time to hit $40. Buy back in tomorrow when it is lower. Hopefully $18 is the new support. Data is still a ways out. NWBO is a much less complicated study and it is not even out yet, CVM has a lot more to analyze.
The question wasn't who was going to win, it was a statement that Uber and Lyft benefit from autonomy. If they don't need drivers, they don't have to pay driver wages.
@sab:
Uber and Lyft are major proponents of automated driving and they will benefit from its development. It will help them, not hurt them.
Saying 'October is ridiculous' is not a sensible statement. You don't know all that has to be done in order to prepare a report. For example, if they want to nail down all of the subjects that are cancer free, how do you do that? Each person needs to take a PET scan. How long does that take? I don't know but I imagine with this plandemic in effect it takes a lot longer than normal. I'm sure that CVM wants them to be very thorough and produce a foundational report from the data. The extra money that CVM paid early on was to get to report the 298 number as soon as possible. It did nothing to shorten the data accumulation. A month or two or three is a drop in the bucket compared to what has happened to this point. Walk away if you want, it is at your own risk.
Agreed, can't wait till November. The month the riots will have no reason to continue and the plandemic will mysteriously disappear. Also the month that another round of excuses can be offered up for why sleepy Joe didn't win and he can actually get the help that he so desperately needs right now.
@Sab has posted many times about the warrants, I don't think they are all that big of a deal. In case you are not aware, they are subject to the 25:1 reverse split. Therefore, the actual number of shares is 1/25th what is published as outstanding warrants.
For some of the posts leading up to this point (I don't think it is what lightrock is declaring in his post) there seems to be a stated dependency that a buyout will be preceded by an FDA approval. I don't think that is going to be the case. I am in the camp that if data is reasonable/good/great there will be a rush of offers and the stock price will quickly accelerate. For longs, you don't want to wait around for an FDA approval, that is a VERY long process and will take at least a year if not longer.
As did I, news will come when news will come. Pontification is just that and we can hope and dream all we want. All that matters is the P3 data. I take confidence that the IDMC didn't dismiss this just days before the final event, that is huge. Maybe news will come Monday, maybe it will come three weeks from Monday, I don't think anyone on this board knows unless they are tied to the hip with Geert and even he doesn't know. His actions certainly speak loudly in terms of the amount of time, money, blood sweat and tears he has poured into this venture. Lead by example, not lead from behind.
Sushi did offer the reason. The warrant holders that were involved in fundraising from five years ago were given warrants as an incentive to contribute to the CVM cause. These warrant holders helped out CVM when it needed cash and Geert is throwing them a bone by providing a month extension to these warrants. Nice of him, actually. Evidently, he expects a data readout within a month. Otherwise, why not make it two? The twist is the exercise now and you get even more clause. Clever. The exercise path gives him more ammunition to hold out for the best future offer and the resulting dilution is minimal.
Why would they do another R/S? They have enough cash to hold them through and there are a lot of warrant holders who 'should' be exercising their purchases. The benefit to them is to hold a year and cut their tax bill in half.
I don't subscribe to SA's position there will be no buy out. Of course there will be a buy out. Geert doesn't want to lead this charge for another five years. He will sell to the highest bidder and those bidders are likely lining up for a ticket to the auction now.
Someone on ST posted this video from last year and I thought it would be a good reminder for everyone why we are committed to this company:
I switched to a browser that didn't have an ad blocker enabled and I was able to finally login. I missed a few minutes of the presentation and was surprised there were no questions. Bummer, I'm sure there would have been quite a few if this would have been tested in advance and the bugs worked out.
Equates to over $190 per share at $10B. I'm OK with that :)

Either this is just a placeholder entry of the quarter's end or the study is actually over. 10 years and 4 months, wow, that is a long time.
