Good point. I leave all technical aspects in F&F investments and the various dockets to better minds on our board. What I feel though is there will be some very simplistic findings by the SCOTUS like definition of “conservative” and how long it should last regarding FnF and how to remedy issues with stockholders’ investments.
Your thoughts about a trading halt may be highly possible…just too much initial turbulence brought on by the pending decision.
Looking back over the years of my involvement in the market, when there is a halt/pause in trading of a stock when the market is open, it seems to me that it appeared to be a good thing. That being the case, I will be looking at FnF's activity early Monday a.m. Somehow I believe the SCOTUS's rendering will be exposed before actual announcement.
That ladies and gentlemen was some kind of head fake. The weak and scared just got snickered. Look it FnF come back.
I guess no news on docket for FnF is not good news. We’re listing a bit right now.
Hey Louis do a QCD (qualified charitable distribution) from your IRA before you do your RMD. It will reduce your taxable income and you still will have the advantage of the standard deduction.
Is it green for Fannie and Freddie I’m seeing today or is it these darn green shades?
Thanks navy for keeping us informed.
Thanks for keeping us abreast Navy
I believe you're on target nats1. The politics regarding Fannie and Freddie are somewhat stale at this point in time. However, when you think of the hot housing market more attention would be on FnF. Average single homes in this zip have jumped almost 15% in the last month per real estate brokers....a lot of pure cash sales and no home inspections....just sell me your house please.
Why do I think of Carly Simon’s songs “Anticipation” and “You’re So Vain” when I think about our investing in Fannie and Freddie?
Safe travels on the Beltway.
FNMA premarket flashing up .04? No volume to speak of.
Joke of the day...FMCC up .04 on 9 shares left in the cue. FNMA down .01 on 7.25k shares premarket left in the cue. When will errors show up with FnF being up like .95 on 200k shares?
Rick your comments are so timely. Where's that Orkin man?
Karma is waiting for the current covey of justices to pass on/retire. Then maybe our great-grandchildren might benefit from Fannie and Freddie mortages on Mars.
Oh, btw we'll all be dust in our graves by then.
All quiet on the western front people. Fannie and Freddie stuck in WWI muddy trench.
To borrow from the old tv commercial..."It's 11 p.m., do you know where your kids are?"
update:
"It's 3:15 p.m. on a Friday afternoon, do you know where your Fannie and Freddie price per share increases are?"
Fannie up 4 pennies.
Thanks Chaser. Good points.
Not even a data bit shown on Market Watch's Website about Fannie's 6 billion. If it was a 100 dollar lost you would see it plastered all over the place. It's a conspiracy people.
Not a peep out of Market Watch or Barrons. Don’t want to give Freddie any wind behind its sails.
Thanks for the article navy
I used to lease my land in Orangeburg County SC. Decided to end it and get the pines in. Your point about Canada’s role is spot on. Thanks for sharing. The stuff I’ve learned on this board besides Fannie.
You’re on target redux. I was told a few days ago by a contractor how simple 2x4s had almost double in price. Ironically, I decided two years ago to plant some of my land with Loblolly pines. I may or may not see the end state as it takes about 20 years for a stand to mature for harvesting. Oh well, our kids and grandkids should reap the benefit of this forward thinking. Also, the USDA may kick in a few $$ for investors forestry ventures. That’s what the big boys do...us little guys literally cant see “the forest for the trees” because we tend to bottom fish while those fellows net all the nice stuff the government makes available.
I am still hanging by a limb for Fannie and Freddie to make up ground.
2fun e along
My sentiment, and point I’ve been saying earlier today. Ive been at FnF since 2008. Crypto has already made up my cost and more on paper. If the bottom falls out so be it...right now I enjoy seeing the various holdings move up and down mostly up.
Anybody care to do an analysis of the delta of buying 1,000 shares of bitcoin 6 months ago versus 1,000 shares of Fannie? I would be doing ok if I had the bitcoin. I understand the risk of crypto...but over the last 10 years my position in FnF is so far under water until mud fish can’t very well breathe.
I was kind of being factious about the lawn guy....meaning I would not arbitrarily take advice from not even my IRA management without prior research. I agree with you trunk. For example my IRA fund manager for a few years has recommended I diverse my 100% mutual to 60% bond, 30% mutual and 10% interest bearing. I have maintained 100% mutual and over the years have doubled my IRA balance, because I don't need it for living expenses. I keep my "play money" in Fannie and Freddie along with some other new stuff like crypto.
The lawn guy bless his soul was offering me his experience...easier for him to send $$ internationally if he so desired. I have no desire or need to send $$ to Timbuktu or ???slovia.
Finally got nerves to dabble in crypto coin after being convinced by of all people the young man that cuts my lawn. He has been investing in crypto for a while now. I stopped to read the tea leaves a week ago and thought hey if I’m going to lose $$ with Fannie and Freddie, I might as well throw a few $$ at bitcoin and others. So far so good. Waiting on SCOTUS.
Xin Loi (Sin Loy - Vietnamese for Sorry About That)
You feeling better today with your decision to add COIN to your Fannie and Freddie holdings? The worm's finally turning.
Bottom line. SCOTUS rules in favor of plaintiffs or defendants...in Glen Bradford’s opinion?
Green...yep...FnF
Boom yow!
I'd have to sell a gazillion shares of Fannie which I only have a zillion, to make the down payment on one of those pads stockprofitter.
Wow! What great interest and responses. I brought the trips up earlier this week about going to Vegas, NV or Parhumph, NV (Parhumph being a parody). Years ago, when we first were hoodwinked by the banking and mortgage powers to be, of our retail investments in Fannie and Freddie, we thought we should all go to Vegas when we got our $$$ back from the big time crooks. Now we are all about Florida.
Don't they have a bug problem in hotels and motels in Florida that Raid won't do in?
Fannie pps @ close 04/18/2018 was 28.55. Those were the days my friend....bring back Mary Hopkin. If we can get even half that price.
But, but, but, whatever happened to the discussion 6-7 years ago about us all meeting in Vegas after we made our $$$ from selling Fannie.? I guess it’s best we didn’t go to NV and rather go to one of those hot springs in West Virginia. Whatever happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
Will we be going to Las Vegas, NV or going to Pahrump, NV after SCOTUS’ decision?
Shovel more coal, shovel more coal! Now we huffing and puffing.
