<<Dave, One of my relatives is in Oil field equipment business and he claims many of the Engineering & Mfging jobs will be moved to China.>>
They're all going there. Unless you are in an indispensible service field (health care) or work for the government, or are a first round power forward drafted into the NBA, or drill for natural gas, no job is safe....hope everyone has lots 'n lots saved up, gonna be a long dry spell!
Programming? Gone to Bangalore
Engineering? Taiwan
Auto assembly? Seoul
Everything else? China
Of course, there's always mortgage "banking"...whoops, AG let the bond bubble burst, so that's gone. Maybe we can all be daytraders!<G?>
<<Saw one grizzly King fishing as well.>>

<<Here's one that Bernstein may like: NTES announces $16.5M in revenue, up sequentially from $14.2M last quarter sporting a market cap of $1.5B!>>
To give a little perspective, imagine owning a hot dog stand that does, say, $170/dy in sales (up from $155 or so last quarter)....and having someone come along and offer you 1.5 million for it! Who'd be the fool...the buyer? Or the seller?<G>
That said, I'd sure wait for the rollover and failed retest, rather than throwing money at it short...in all likelihood (unless yer extraodinarily lucky), you're gonna end up covering higher.<NG>
Absolutely....
<<Just buy some KLAC and relax>>
I guarantee I'll be buying it sooner or later....<G>
Get yer war on, dude!<G>

As long as the "Wall of Voodoo" (SPX resistence zone between 945 and 965) is still intact, we're good to go...VIX hit 20.50 today, that should give the monkeys a banana to munch on...<G>

BTW, just got a great book, "Positively Fifth Street" by Jim McMannis. It's about the World Series of Poker from a contestant's point of view, and about the Ted Binion murder for all you unrepentant silver bugs out there.

If we're not in a major debt-trapping spiral, we're doing an awfully good imitation of one!
If the Rand continues to drop, I'd guarantee it. GFI looks good here, and maybe AU.
Sold my position in KGC....thing looks like it's putting in an H&S, and the HUI looks tired to me as well....
HO HO HO! Check out the P/C's....(yeah, I know, disregard, options expiry):
http://www.cboe.com/MktData/default.asp
Great! I feel right at home!<G>
ROTFL! SI down for the count!
Where's the ThunderDome in this place, anyways.....<G>
Bought a few June QQQ pootskies...VIX at 20, II bears at record lows, equtiy P/C's under 0.4....what's not to like?
<<Their clients don't seem to like ebay it seems>>
They should use PayPal, then balance transfer the charges every 3 months. All those expenses, magically wiped off the books....ERRRR, DEFERRED for multiple quarters! They OWE it to their shareholders, don't you think?<VBG>
<<OK, let me clarify a bit. I hold no position in CSCO but after working with them for the past 10 years of so, here's what I like about them>>
Here's what I like about 'em...all their stuff available for peanuts at EBay!<G>

<<Yesterday he says this and then today they announce layoffs. WTF.>>
ROTFL! Crooks hard at work, separating bagholders from their money!
In any event, it looks like the Saudi's are already pulling money out in SOIZE (this is from tonight's Financial Times, subscriber only, but George kindly printed it out):

Exactly. It is their U.S. assets that are at risk, by a U.S. judge or jury. If the case somehow gets to a jury, they're TOAST! <NG> Therefore a prudent investment allocation decision for them is to decrease U.S. exposure. Hell, remember what happenned to Iranian assets during the hostage crisis in 1979?
<<Where will they put that money to work>>
Europe, Canada, Asia, Japan...yes, and even gold (there actually ARE investment options outside of the Nasdaq contrary to the opinion of some on this board!<G>)
Edit: Hmm, the Euro and the Yen are appreciating nicely against the dollar tonight, I see....

Do you have an opinion on the song "SSSudio", by Phil Collins?<GGG>
<<Who is most responsible for today's problems: George Bush, Bill Clinton or Alan Greenspan?>>
None of the above! From the preceding posts, I can confidently conclude that all of our troubles stem from the Evil Short Sellers and their fellow travelers, the Paid Bashers!<VBG>
I must have missed the part where they say they're gonna be expensing options from now on....<G>
<<Gotta be the funds meeting redemptions, I think longs be in trouble plenty>>
Yep, looks like J2P suddenly found the phone number to the Fido and (j)ANUS redemption line...<G>
Check out the BKX! Holy $HIT!
I think SI is down for the count. Standing by for brand new closing low on the SPX!<G>
<<EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and stock compensation expense)
That was a misprint. They meant to say:
EBITDA (Earnings Because I Tricked Da Auditor!<G?
Testing GFY LLCF MCHVE!
