I get it; and I agree.
Maybe they'll "get the application process going" - figuring it takes time - hoping for the best to occur in the meantime...? Don't know.
What does the collective think about the price here - i.e., following Constellation's vote-of-confidence? (Is it fair, or does it seem like a bit of an overreaction?)
I had to exit out of my position in a panic after I got laid-off about a month ago - we needed the cash. I'm trying to get back in, but don't have much to work with so have to do the best I can with it.
Near term, would the board recommend:
- I wait a little, "because we know x/y/z is coming and it'll probably drop some", or
- I get what I can at around $17/$18 USD, "because we know x/y/z is coming and it probably keep going up", or
- do either one, "because we don't know of anything immediately on the horizon" (and it'll likely just sit around here for a bit, but it's anyone's guess).
I'm not asking for someone to tell me the future - just trying to understand the current (after market) price, and get caught-up on what near-term catalysts we already know about, if any. (Yes - I'll be going off and doing my own DD too; but, frankly, asking here is part of that for me.)
You/We don't.
Feel free to email him yourself.
Nice damAcon1...!
The SP will convey that message, no doubt, unless he's Johnny-on-the-spot with the damage control.
Did Chris ever respond to you, Abundance?
I gathered your last email to him was on this very topic - what is/isn't going on with Altria.
Well, there's nothing Lexaria-related in their earnings PR, for starters:
http://investor.altria.com/file/4087349/Index?KeyFile=1001263151
But, this isn't really an "announcement" type of document (just in general).
I didn't join the wewebcast, so I can't speak to that.
Maybe they can use whatever information they obtained - by way of the "collaboration" - to replicate the science and bury Lexy in patent lawsuit land...? (Where Lexy would probably run out of funds.)
Who knows - it's "David and Goliath", on Goliath's turf.
Couldn't agree with you more.
That one can draw this set of conclusions from this article is... frankly amazing.
Yeah - a little "too" jumpy this week... ;D
EDIT: Seeing as there's no [real] hubbub about it on the Googles, I'm concluding it's another "nothing to see here." :/
I don't understand if this is saying what we've all been waiting for, or if it's just another run-o'-the-mill PR whatsit that's referencing the existing agreement.

What!?? You contacted the company to get your questions/concerns addressed??!
How absolutely absurd!! You're supposed to just endlessly (and might I add: pointlessly) speculate and rant here - like the rest of us! XD
If I were laid-off tomorrow and needed to put food on the table for my two-year-old I wouldn't give two shits about Lexaria's PPS.
This is in keeping with the terms of the incentive plan.
FWIW, I like to think about it this way: whatever odds there were that a pharma giant like Gilead had heard of little-ol' Lexaria, they're probably much higher now.
And that's a good thing, IMHO - whether the conversation might be Remdesivir (i.e., COVID-19) or something else.
"Big Pharma" is Big Pharma is Big Pharma... And it was a very smart move on behalf of the Lexaria crew, I think, to get themselves on some radar screens by way of the COVID-19 fight.
That's what we're all waiting to find out. (Hopefully "soonish"...) ;)
Sounds reasonable - I too concluded it's just the traditional "we're meeting; anything that might be up for a vote will be voted using common shares" message to whomever.
No argument there - just pointing-out that it's understandable this didn't move the SP.
Honestly, it reads like PR - "we filed a patent because we hypothesize DehydraTECH can do great things" - instead of "news" - e.g., "DehydraTECH did these great things here."
So, no surprise there.
Actually... I bet all this is saying is: "We're doing our usual Kumbaya... If there's anything to vote on, folks will vote using their common shares."
Barring an offer from Altria to buyout the nicotine division, my money's on a reverse split. (The whole "we're exploring options for getting listed on a big boy exchange" business.)

Interesting...!

This again...
Presumably, Chris Bunka can.
In fact, he'd be the authority on that.
Shockingly, he answers email.
Why don't you ask him - instead of a forum full of random folk on the internet?
Benzinga mention - not bad for the ol' publicity...

I guess you and I have different expectations. (Which, it goes without saying, is absolutely fine.)
You want this to move (now), whereas I know it will (eventually).
So, in my mind, it doesn't "need to" do anything "today" - it will do what it does. And I don't care what other cannabis companies, or COVID companies, or drug companies, or hemp companies, or nicotine companies are doing; other companies are not Lexaria. (Curiously, one could argue Lexaria is both none of these, and all of these.)
This is a phenomenal move - regardless of whether management offered or the stakeholders came asking.
The very first thing that's going to happen when (hopefully) they identify a viable drug: It's going to be in short supply!
Technology that improves the bioavailability of the drug - so less of the active material(s) is needed per effective dose - is going to be downright priceless. (Though, practically speaking, there'll be price on it alright - wink, wink.)
Moreover, anything COVID-19 is going to be fast-tracked - anything; whether by industry or government. (Read: Any research/trials Lexaria was going to have conduct on DehydraTECH regardless to court Big Pharma for a better aspirin, or Viagra, or whatever just got a massive steroid shot.)
Finally, if Lexaria is able to demonstrate that DehydraTECH is effective for drug delivery under these circumstances, they will have done so in the single most public forum in existence in our day and age - it'll be like the Chilean miners [finally] emerging out of the rubble wearing "Oakley" sunglasses.
Side note: This is when it pays-off to be a company that values research and patents, as opposed to share price.
Awesome read. Thank you for sharing!
