prince,
I can only speak for myself and I am for the company. Always have been and will continue till the end, good or bad.
I will be going under the knife tomorrow for Gall Bladder surgery and a look around while they are inside. The procedure is not the simple one. As a cancer survivor I am scared shit to say the least. Hopefully, if all goes well tomorrow I will be back with vengeance.
I am so tired of the I told you so types. Then there are the ones that seem to glow at the suffering of others. I have a lot to say but been holding off till the right time. Timing is everything and I will be heard when I feel the time is right.
Seems IHUB has become a carbon copy of another sight on the net. I hope Matt gets it under control before it is too late.
Hope to be back in a weeks time, if not then you will know how the story ended.

A Gay Easter?
Gay-rights groups make covert plans to crash the annual White House Easter egg roll.
by Mark D. Tooley
01/17/2006 2:40:00 PM
FOR OVER A HUNDRED YEARS children have gathered on the South Lawn of the White House on the Monday after Easter to roll Easter eggs across the yard and meet the Easter Bunny. Seemingly few (if any) Washingtonians have ever tried to exploit the annual White House Easter Egg Roll for political purposes. Until now. A church-based homosexual rights group is planning to crash the event with a "family visibility action" to spotlight their non-traditional families.
"On April 17, 2006, when the White House lawn is opened to families for the Annual Easter Egg Roll, imagine if the first 1,000 families onto the lawn were LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] families," enthused a January 4 email alert from Soulforce. Once America sees the White House lawn awash in LGBT families, "there will be no going back," Soulforce promised.
Soulforce is the political organizing tool of self-described "militant gay activist" Mel White, the former Jerry Falwell speech writer who discovered his gayness and became a clergyman in the predominantly homosexual Metropolitan Community Churches.
White and his supporters routinely show up at church conventions and other events to protest, perform acts of civil disobedience and demand that denominations change their teachings about homosexuality. They apply the "soul force" of principles from Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi to the "struggle for justice for sexual minorities."
According to Soulforce, "LGBT" participants are being urged to gather at the White House gate the night before so as to be the
first to enter the next morning. Volunteers will stand in line for "LGBT" parents who cannot do it themselves.
Although Soulforce insists this will not be a political protest, only a gathering for families, its supporters will arrive with special "non-political" t-shirts to identify themselves as "LGBT."
THE WHITE HOUSE EASTER EGG ROLL dates back to Rutherford Hayes, who opened up the South Lawn to children after the Easter egg roll at the Capitol was shut down. In typical fashion, a fusty Congress became concerned about damage to its lawn and turned the kiddies away. President Hayes and his successors have been glad to compensate for Congress' lack of hospitality. Besides thousands of children and parents, the roll often includes prominent entertainers, the Easter Bunny, and sometimes the president and first lady.
The Easter Egg Roll has remained non-controversial for too long, apparently. Soulforce, in cooperation with other homosexuality advocacy groups, such as Family Pride, wants same-sex couples and other non-traditional "sexual minorities" to bring their children to the White House so as to expose America to "LGBT" families.
"The media will be there (they are always there for the egg roll) and millions of Americans--many for the first time--will meet our families," the Soulforce email explained. "This is an amazing opportunity to reach homes in blue states and red states with positive images of our families participating in this great American family tradition."
Soulforce went on to promise: "This event will be like nothing anyone has ever seen before. The White House lawn--the Bush [italics in original] White House lawn--will, quite unexpectedly, be filled with gay and lesbian families. This is something people will be talking about for a long time, an event that will make history!"
According to Soulforce, "It is time to claim our place at the table. Come to our nation's capital and let America see who we really are." Less any of its supporters be lacking in enthusiasm, the email promised: "It is basically going to be the biggest LGBT family party ever, you and your kids will have a great time."
Recipients of the Soulforce email were asked to be "discreet" and not to post the information on websites because the "success of this action depends on keeping it under the radar of the media and the administration!!!"
OVER THE YEARS Soulforce has become well known for its disruptive demonstrations and acts of civil disobedience at the conventions of religious denominations that do not share its views on sexual ethics. Invariably these churches, even the liberal mainline ones, are portrayed by Soulforce as "anti-gay."
Soulforce's main partner in crashing the White House Easter Egg roll is the Family Pride Coalition (FPC), which is the "only national non-profit organization solely dedicated to equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) parents and their families."
"There is no more powerful way to change the national discussion around our families and our rights than to introduce ourselves to our neighbors on a grand scale," the Family Pride Coalition promises on its website. "Join us in making history, having fun and showing off our amazing families to the country!" (Like Soulforce, the FPC also wants its members to be secretive about the plan. A passage on its page about the event reads: "Important Note: If word about this reaches the administration or any of our opponents, there may be an effort to keep our families from participating. Please tell as many LGBT families as possible about this event, but please DO NOT post a link to this page on a searchable website. It is fine though, to forward the link directly to LGBT families.")
Other sponsors of the Egg Roll crashing include: the Metropolitan Community Church, PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF), Love Makes a Family, the BLGT Office of the Unitarian Universalists, and the unofficial Reconciling Ministries Network within United Methodism.
Soulforce and the Family Pride Coalition warned that if the Bush administrations gets wind of their special plans, the White House Egg Roll may be declared an invitation-only event. If somehow blocked from entrance, the "LGBT" families are encouraged to still stick around outside the White House and talk to the media.
When he invited in the children turned away from the Capitol's lawn, President Hayes probably had no idea of the controversy the White House Egg Roll would bestir more than a century later. Welcome to Easter 2006.

Gay cable TV is in the pink
By Joshua Chaffin
Published: January 9 2006 18:46 | Last updated: January 9 2006 18:46
When Sumner Redstone, chairman of Viacom, endorsed the notion of a gay and lesbian cable television network, viewers soon got Logo. With the backing of Viacom’s MTV Networks, the largest and most powerful collection of channels in the cable universe, it was beamed into millions of homes around the US.
An unexpected beneficiary of Mr Redstone’s pronouncement two years ago was Frank Olsen, a little-known broadcasting entrepreneur from Seattle. For more than a decade, Mr Olsen had been toiling to start his own gay cable network. Despite spending $12m from his own pocket, there was not much interest until Mr Redstone chimed in.
“You would be amazed how many people listen when Sumner Redstone speaks,” Mr Olsen recalls. “The whole thing changed.”
Indeed, after launching last July, Mr Olsen’s network, Q Television, is now emerging from the muddle of independent cable networks desperately seeking distribution. Q is available in over 3m homes, and is expecting to lock up distribution deals for 15m to 20m more by the end of this year.
A turning point came in November, when Time Warner Cable, one of the largest operators, awarded Q a so-called “hunting licence”, which has allowed the network to approach its 30 regional divisions around the country to seek distribution. So far, that has brought Q to such diverse markets as Manhattan, Houston and – as of this month – Lincoln, Nebraska.
“I think probably even the Q TV people were surprised they got such a nice response here,” says Beth Scarborough, the president of Time Warner Cable in Lincoln.
One could point out that Mr Olsen, who has dubbed himself the “king of gay media”, had been working on Q for more than three decades. After selling the family bakery, Mr Olsen used the windfall to buy radio stations in the early 1970s. In addition to rock and roll, and news and talk radio, Mr Olsen also began to run gay programming.
The shows were reasonably popular, he claims, even though the broader environment was not hospitable. “The advertisers were always worried about how many customers they would lose for every one they attracted,” says Mr Olsen.
A lot has changed since then. The mainstream media is now full of gay characters and gay programming, from television’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Will and Grace to the film Brokeback Mountain, a cowboy love story that has become an unlikely Oscar front-runner. Companies such as Volkswagen have launched advertising campaigns specifically geared toward gay and lesbian customers.
The economics of cable have also evolved. As the industry matures, operators are looking for niche networks that can add incremental subscribers who might later be enticed to buy add-on services, such as internet connections.
“Cable operators see themselves as supermarkets, and they have to stock their shelves for everyone,” explains Carol Hinnant, vice-president of sales and marketing.
Rather than shooting for a broad audience, Q is only hoping to sign up 1 to 2 per cent of the households in which it is available. Unlike Logo, it is not available as part of a basic cable package. Instead, viewers must request it for $7.95 per month, as they would HBO. “It’s very important that we be invited into the home,” Mr Olsen says.
While it does not offer pornography, that distinction allows Q to be more risqué in its approach than Logo, which Mr Olsen dismisses as “a little vanilla”.
A third gay network, Here, also launched last year, selling its programming in a video-on-demand format.
While gaining access to the New York and San Francisco markets was a milestone for Q, some of its best success has come in smaller markets, such as Portland, Maine, which has never been known for having a high gay population.
Far from being surprised, Mr Olsen notes that more than 60 per cent of his target audience lives in rural areas. Q is all the more appealing to them because its coverage can link them to Gay Pride parades in San Francisco they might not otherwise attend. “We can be a bridge,” he says.
As it enters new markets, Q has also relied on local gay and lesbian networks and grass-roots marketing to try to reach its modest subscription goal.
In November, when it launched its service in the university town of Syracuse, New York, for example, the company threw a party at a local gay bar. The event, which coincided with the university’s annual Homecoming Weekend, honoured a Q presenter, Scott Withers, a Syracuse alumnus who had been elected the university’s Homecoming King in 1995.
“What a difference 10 years makes,” the invitations read. “Syracuse’s Homecoming King is now the queen of gay television!”

Rang in the New Year with Stuart and Gerald’s house, where we watched a DVD of Stuart and Julia’s Thanksgiving appearance on the Q TV Network’s show, “On Q Live.”
It was great and I’m disappointed that Comcast/Adelphia whatever doesn’t include it on its line up. Apparently, the channel is only on the Time Warner system which reaches o maybe just 3 people in Los Angeles. Really now. How can you not love a channel that airs “The Judy Garland Show: Christmas Special”? Instead, we’re stuck with the slightly boring old LOGO, the other gay channel. We’ve decided that LOGO is too uptight and self-conscious. Q Television Network, in contrast, doesn’t care if it comes off as too flamboyant. It likes to let its freak flag fly. We’ve decided that comparisons of the 2 gay channels are comparable to the independent film channels: Q is like IFC and LOGO is like Sundance. Anyhoo, after whooping at Stuart’s sped up spiel about Thanksgiving tableware, we TIVOed a broadcast of the “Carol Burnett Reunion” and shared memories about great variety shows of the 70s. Finally, we rang in the New Year with Dick Clark who was so embalmed that you could almost see the wires working his jaw. It was pitiful. The TV director kept shooting old Dick with a long shot. A long shot of a guy sitting in a booth! Eventually, even that didn’t work and the director ended up just running Dick’s pronouncements as a voice over merged with images of people freezing their asses off in Times Square. It was so lame that we just had to laugh and drink more champagne.
-Went to bed early and got up on New Years day to attend 2 brunches. Got to meet an older lawyer who used to work with Lew Wasserman at Universal. He also knew Jule Styne, briefly. Now that was a cool conversation.

--Movie Information--
In 1963, Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) show up penniless at a Wyoming ranch to look for work. The strangers are quickly assigned to herd sheep together on Brokeback Mountain. Be it the pristine setting in which they live, sleep and work together or the appearance that they're practically the last two people left on earth, something draws them together, and before long they share a tent and a raw liaison. In order to keep their jobs, they know they must keep this secret affair just that, and must decide on a larger scale whether or not to embrace their emerging love. Over the next 20 years, the two men—almost as if by familial rite of passage—marry and become fathers, but find themselves drawn back together. But can they ever find the happiness they shared together on Brokeback Mountain in the real world?

Holiday Mixer at Q Television Network
On Friday evening I attended the NLGJA (National Lesbian Gay Journalism Association) Holiday Mixer. It was held at the headquarters of Q Television Network. For those not familiar with Q Television; it is America’s third gay network, that's rapidly growing across the nation with international distribution deals coming down the pipe.
Currently, they offer about 9 hours of live programming daily including an extensive daily news line up. I’ve met several people from Q TV and they all seem to be very genuine individuals who value diversity. Diversity is very important to me and I feel that Q Television gets it better than any other network both gay and straight.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. regulators said on Monday they charged two individuals with insider trading ahead of news in 2004 that radio shock jock Howard Stern was moving to Sirius Satellite Radio Inc..
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said accountant Gary Herwitz and former Sirius executive Tracey Stanyer "illegally profited from advance knowledge of radio personality Howard Stern's $500 million contract with Sirius."
Both executives settled with the commission without admitting wrongdoing and agreed to pay fines and to disgorge ill-gotten gains, the SEC said.
Stern rocked the broadcasting world in October 2004 when he signed a five-year contract with Sirius giving him two entire channels on the subscription-based satellite radio system. He is expected to start broadcasting on Sirius in early January.
Herwitz, a certified public accountant and former president of the accounting firm Mahoney Cohen & Co., agreed to pay $52,000, while former Sirius executive vice president Stanyer agreed to pay $35,000, said the investor protection agency.
The judgment against Stanyer also bars him from acting as an officer or director of a public company, the SEC said.
The SEC alleged in court that Herwitz bought Sirius stock on September 30, 2004, after learning in confidence from a colleague at Mahoney Cohen that Stern had received an offer from Sirius and that the parties were negotiating.
The SEC alleged that Stanyer bought Sirius stock on October 5, 2004, after learning in confidence from a senior Sirius executive that Sirius had signed an agreement with Stern.
"The contract was announced the next day," the SEC said.
"It is particularly troubling when accountants or corporate executives, who are entrusted with confidential information, believe they can illegally trade on such information with impunity," said SEC Northeast Regional Office Director Mark Schonfeld in a statement.
An attorney for Stanyer declined to comment. An attorney for Herwitz could not immediately be reached for comment
Elton turns down $10m
By Rob Singh, Evening Standard
Sir Elton John has turned down £5.6 million for the exclusive rights to his wedding to David Furnish.
The singer was offered $10 million by an American company to cover his wedding on Wednesday, the Evening Standard has learned.
A friend said: "Elton was approached to do a huge thing with an American media organisation which wanted to cover everything including the build-up and the wedding day itself. They were offering $10 million, but Elton is just not interested. He wants it as private as possible."
The offer dwarfs amounts paid to other couples. The rights for Victoria and David Beckhams' wedding were sold for a reported £1 million to OK! which is said to have paid Jordan and Peter Andre £1.75 million. Sir Elton's wedding, on the day civil partnerships become legal in Britain, will be held at Windsor's Guildhall. Seven hundred guests will attend a reception at Sir Elton's Berkshire home, Woodside.
Prior to the wedding, Sir Elton's "hen night" tonight will be played a video message from Bill Clinton. The minute-long recording will be played at a cabaret party at the Too2Much nightclub in Soho. A source said: "We were running through rehearsals when the tape was played. We knew Elton had good connections, but to see the ex-US president was something else."
Mr Clinton congratulates Sir Elton, 58, and David Furnish, 42, and says: "If there were more people like Elton, the world would be a better place."

Gay themes grab hold
Globes highlight the year in alternative cinema
By DAVID S. COHEN
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Breakfast on Pluto' was one of many gay-themed films highlighted this year at the Golden Globes.
It's red meat for the culture warriors.
This year's Globe noms highlight a year in which lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters played major roles in crossover titles.
"Brokeback Mountain," "Breakfast on Pluto," "Capote" and even "The Producers" put gay characters front and center.
"Transamerica" has a transgender lead, and Pierce BrosnanPierce Brosnan plays a bisexual man in "The Matador."
While a barrage from the right about Hollywood's gay agenda is to be expected, the defense is already gearing up.
"These are films with universal themes that everyone can identify with," said GLAAD spokesman Damon Romine. "'Brokeback Mountain' is a great American romance where two men happen to be in love with each other."
Gay characters have become routine in film and TV. For the most part, though, those gay characters didn't have any actual sex -- at least, not onscreen. And they were often there to provide sage advice to straight leads.
But "Brokeback Mountain," shows a passionate love between two men, and doesn't flinch from the physical side.
Curt Shepart, director of government relations for the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian center, said "Brokeback" is different because "It's not self-conscious. it's not dealing with coming out of the closet."
The characters, said Shepard, have no political agenda, and the film doesn't proselytize.
"It's just about these two people in that period of time, when it was impossible to express themselves in any way except through the relationship."

FTA 'Queer Channel' plans launch in 2006
Saturday, December 10 2005, 15:02 GMT -- by Neil Wilkes
A new gay entertainment channel is planning to launch towards the end of next year, Broadcast reports this week.
'The Queer Channel' - brainchild of ex-ITN creative director Colin Fallesen - intends to launch as a free-to-air station by October 27, 2006. Fallesen is already "in discussions" with Sky and VOD operator HomeChoice over carriage on their respective services.
Content will comprise roughly 60% acquisitions, mostly from US gay channels Q Television and Here TV. Movies sourced from gay and lesbian film festivals will also feature, while planned original content includes Positive Living, a show for people with HIV, and Culture Vulture, a series profiling gay artists.
Fallesen told the mag that he had assembled £12 million of the £20 million The Queer Channel needs to launch, adding that Q Television had "expressed interest" in taking a 50% stake in the venture.
The news comes just two months after a proposed gay channel called Faze TV scrapped its launch plans after failing to secure a carriage agreement with Sky.
