And we can't forget about the NASH pipeline.

Another Algernon shoutout :)

I find this interesting.. what is a CSE stock like Algernon doing under the NASDAQ market news? Hmmm
https://www.pm360online.com/algernon-submits-application-to-health-canada-for-ifenprodil-covid-19-phase-2b-3-multinational-clinical-trial/

Looks like the Germans already know about Algernon my friend :)
“Pending approval, we would be included with only a small handful of companies globally working with a potential drug treatment at a Phase 3 level on this disease.”
See it's statements like these that make me feel as though Algernon already knows the drug works. This is my honest opinion. They know the drug works they just can't go on record and say it does. And that these trials are just a formality for the regulatory bodies.
The fact that Chris Moreau himself said they would be in a handful of companies globally in phase 3 is almost as though he's cryptically telling us that this is going to be approved. Love it. All is well Algernauts!
Good ole Missouri lol.. I'm also from Canada. Ontario :)
Lol I don't know who was the greater visionary Nostradamus or Le Jagger! We will never know.
Another old article about a biotech pharma buyout by Merck.
https://www.dallasnews.com/business/2019/09/20/peloton-therapeutics-2-2-billion-deal-with-merck-took-root-with-an-idea-for-clinical-trials/
Just goes to show if you have the right stuff. Money gets thrown into the mix. And I think it's safe to say... Algernon has the right stuff! Like medchem always says.. invest in the science. Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

A look at some buyouts of the past :)
It definitely didn't get by me. Read it yesterday from top to bottom! Very encouraging and a great summarization of what's going on. Midam getting the wheels turning.
Namah please refer to Shells post here addressing why Midam may have been hired. Why cut a cheque for $250,000 to swindle investors? Algernon is spending a quarter of a million to Midam for 90 days of work. What you're suggesting simply makes 0 sense. Dish out money to other companies to scam small fry investors out of theirs? Not very effective. Not to mention Novotech a reputable CRO buying $220,000 worth of Algernon stock themselves.
The upcoming months are going to be very eventful and Chris and Mark have bigger fish to fry. Moving forward they are not going to have time to update shareholders every news release (rest assured there will be alot of them). So hiring a third party company to release news on Algernon's behalf is one thing less off of their very large plate. They need all their time free'd up because they are going to be busy.. you know talking with suitors (big pharma), speaking to scientists etc. etc. We have evolved past Kal conspiracy theories. Good luck to you.

"a treatment for Coronavirus would be priceless and worth about 5000 points in the Dow Jones industrial average"
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/a-treatment-for-the-coronavirus-would-be-priceless-and-worth-about-5000-points-in-the-dow-jones-industrial-average-2020-04-17
Well if that doesn't say it all I don't know what does. Think BIG!
One thing is for sure, silence is golden here. 2 days without a news update from the company? Things are moving so fast. Imagine what is happening as we speak that has not been announced yet.
Next week should be quite the show.
hey medchem - the twitter story checks out as I googled the update on the drug before my response.
https://www.statnews.com/2020/04/16/early-peek-at-data-on-gilead-coronavirus-drug-suggests-patients-are-responding-to-treatment/
Gilead's antiviral seems to be helping but still too early to tell. Regardless no impact on AGN whatsoever. We have our own path to walk.
I've done some research prior on Remdesivir. It is an antiviral which may be able to stop the virus in its tracks. Which is great however is not able to properly treat those with long term respiratory damage, fibrosis and/or scarring of the lungs.
Ifenprodil is a therapeutic which is designed to treat those exact symptoms and provide relief for patients. As the Algernon team stated they are yet to determine if Ifenprodil has antiviral properties and will not know until examining trial data. But they are very confident in its ability to reduce the lethal symptoms of COVID 19.
As it has been echoed here before there will be a few drugs which will be approved and come to market to treat COVID 19. Most here including myself feel Ifenprodil will be one of them. Algernon's compound is no one trick pony. NP-120 will have trials for multiple applications for IPF, Chronic Cough and COVID 19. And as the CEO has mentioned if you use Bellus as a barometer (a company with only one drug in its pipeline for ONE application ie. Chronic Cough only) the market has already deemed that companies valuation as worth 765 million market cap. Algernon has a higher performing compound than Bellus with more than one application including COVID 19.
Despite the news releases this continues to fly under the radar of the market and most investors. Again any day now trial data could come out and change the game. Rest assured big pharma is watching very closely. The results of success of Remdesivir will have no bearing on the success of Algernon. We are taking our own path to treating this pandemic and blazing our own trail.
There was an article on Stockhouse about Algernon:
https://stockhouse.com/news/newswire/2020/04/15/-positive-feedback-received-from-us-fda-for-covid-19-human-trial#spnl041520
Even though Stockhouse has a myriad of crazy posters and inaccurate info being presented as data, it's nice to know we are being recognized over there as well. Means we are a hot topic of convo.
AGN gonna BLO!
You either see the big picture or you don't.
GLTA.
Excellent post AMG. Well said in black and white for all to see using real life facts. You can't put a valuation on how valuable NP-120 really is. Because in a post COVID 19 world the rights to this drug is like owning a large, rare and precious jewel. One that may even start a bidding war amongst big pharma.
You actually had a really interesting theory on one of your older posts. In that Ifenprodil may have been the drug that Sanofi let slip away from their grasp years ago and now with this pandemic that hydroxy-whatever drug was just a vein attempt to sell some pills. If they still owned the rights to Ifenprodil this is the drug they would in fact be pushing to the forefront. But alas Algernon holds the keys and now we wait for the flowers to bloom.
More positive feedback from FDA for intravenous NP-120.. solid!
That actually does make total sense. One less thing off his plate. Thanks Shell!
See this is slightly confusing to me. Why is Algernon paying companies for exposure or to get their name out if they are on the verge of human trials for COVID 19? I feel as though what they are doing and what they are currently bringing to the table is substantial enough to garner enough attention on its own. Why pay for promo? Maybe I am missing something here.
Also CEO Chris Moreau mentioned that they are receiving emails from 3rd party companies asking them if they require funding. I'm assuming grants of some kind. So if they are getting offers by the same merit should they not need to be paying for additional marketing within the pharmaceutical realm. The volume clearly indicates people are starting to take notice. Any thoughts on this?
The initial shares traded to open was 600,000 - it looks like the institutional buyers are trying to drop the SP and shake out the tree but there is too much buy resistance.
This is gonna surge up shortly. They're trying to wrestle a lion right now! Too many eyes on AGN now
1.5 million shares traded on CAD side in 10 minutes
According to Chris they are receiving multiple emails asking them "Do you guys need more money?" - I think that speaks for itself. Lots of grants being offered! They are just being cautious with what they accept. Wow truly.
Talking about the CNN article supercomputer results right now.
Yup these are good questions being asked as well. Dr. Williams is giving quite the breakdown.
Lots of new faces (names) on the board! Always a good sign. Welcome all :)
+1 good sir! Also almost 7 million shares traded between both exchanges and it's not even 11am yet. The fire is definitely lit.
Anyone have any idea what the news might be announced on Biohub at noon?
3 million now lol.. this is fun Shell!
Wow 2 million in volume already on the CAD side in 20 minutes of trading. Algernon has arrived!!!
Anybody else excited?
I think this may have been the highest volume day in AGN/BTH history. It definitely feels like we are getting closer and closer to the goal.
AMG we may actually see a substantial share price increase without the aforementioned theatrics lol! - I felt the same way... we sat and watched Algernon deliver news upon news upon news only for it to go ignored by the market. Call me crazy but actually feels as though that trend may be drawing to a close now and todays volume may be a stark indication of that. There is only so long all of our tireless efforts can go unnoticed. Apart from the sound scientific evidence and data, receiving positive feedback from a regulatory board (Health Canada) is a massive cosign.
We are now officially on the radar of the Canadian health care sector.. in turn that means the government as well. Being based out of BC that bodes very well to have the home crowd showing up to the party. Big news to come and the stage is set. I am trying not to get excited here but with everything going on at this point there is a high chance there will be a significant global demand for Ifenprodil. We await these trials and for them to confirm what our guys have already come to suspect based on real life data.
No company would get these trials underway so quickly and pay real life $'s to mass produce a compound to supply said trials, if they weren't almost certain the drug would show true efficacy. It's no longer a case of if.. but when. Cheers everybody!
It's Good Friday and Canadian markets are closed tomorrow.
Big volume today.. possible people are buying up shares as tomorrow is a holiday and markets are closed. Imagine we get some funding news on Monday before markets reopen. That would be very interesting indeed :)
Another strong news release!
Australia: check
South Korea: check
CANADA: check check
Positive feedback from a regulatory body is huge and this could easily lead to additional funding to expedite trials. SONA already received 4 million from Canada the other day to further along their testing.
Here we go ladies and gentlemen another country and trial lined up. Algernon lining itself up globally :)
Interesting that Merck CEO getting a pay increase. And Ifenprodil NP-120 outperforms a Merck's drug for chronic cough? Shows the strength of this sector as a whole. Biopharma will be the way to go in the 2020's. Algernon is really on their way to greatness.
https://www.fiercepharma.com/pharma/merck-ceo-ken-frazier-gets-32-pay-bump-strong-keytruda-sales-cancer-m-as
Also on the Canadian side someone just picked up 500,000 shares in one shot at 11:52 am. How's that for showing confidence! Something brewing?
Great article from Bloomberg. Word should be spreading now with each passing day. I noticed news from another CSE stock SONA Nano also just recieved a 4.1 million dollar grant to help it further develop its shorter result time COVID test.
https://www.thechronicleherald.ca/business/perspectives-on-business/entrevestor-halifaxs-sona-nano-receives-41m-grant-from-ngen-for-virus-test-development-432514/
The stock shot up significantly over the past few months and significantly today. According to the article
"NGen, which stands for Next Generation Manufacturing Canada, is one of five superclusters funded by the Canadian government to develop international centres of excellence. Based in Toronto, it manages $230 million in federal funding and provided money to Sona as part of a $50-million initiative to support companies that are producing technologies to fight COVID-19."
Interestingly enough there is a Canadian initiative for funding companies working on COVID related treatments. It makes one wonder if Algernon is receiving funding for the trials. I mean I would assume if they are they would have to disclose that to shareholders in a similar fashion? We should be getting funding left right and center for this Ifenprodil initiative.
