mikman77- I don't think PLUG is interested in getting into the vehicle manufacturing end of things. I think they are focused on building a supply of green hydrogen and building millions of fuel cells to sell to customers who want to incorporate them into their products.
Thanks uk. I have an excuse, being just an 'average Joe, but the investment journalists should certainly know better.
You do a great job of keeping us from being misinformed.
GLTU and all longs!
Not meaning to stray off subject, but PLUG was invited to apply for a $508 Million loan guarantee back in April. It will probably come out of the infrastructure bill.

Also, he isn't my favorite politician, but Chuck Schummer is pushing PLUG forward however he can. Hopefuly FCEL can learn to play the schmooze game as well.
Steve- Your article says Amazon is invested in PLUG and this article suggest they sold all the stock they bought with the warrants. It says they got a billion dollars for their shares.

ZEV might not be involved in NYC, but it seems they are building city buses. This excerpt is from one of ZEV's press releases:
Lightning eMotors provides complete zero-emission-vehicle (ZEV) solutions for commercial fleets – from Class 3 cargo vans, passenger vans, and ambulances, to Class 4 shuttles buses and box trucks, to Class 6 work trucks, Class 7 city buses and Class 8 motorcoaches.
I'm sure when the time comes that a bus purchaser wants Progen, PLUG and ZEV will have no problem getting it done.
That's good news to hear. I wonder if ZEV is getting any business from the deal Plug Power is doing with BAE systems regarding providing NYC with fuel cell buses. If so, that should be great for future revenues.
Giddyup indeed!
Thanks Hoghead. The technologies are different, but aren't the end results the same: fuel cells that use hydrogen to produce and store electricity?
I'm invested in both. I'm just trying to understand if FCEL is interested in customers from the private sector.
I see that FCEL's customers are almost completely comprised of military, utility, and municipalities. Why don't they have any private company customers? Does FCEL only build huge power systems?
PLUG's CEO said yesterday that they have 100 customers in the funnel for stationary fuel cell backup. Is this stepping on FCEL's turf, or are these jobs too small for FCEL?
Anybody?

Scuba- Would this mean expanding direct competition with FCEL?
Paul didn't give the usual financial commentary. Andy talked about 1st quarter developments for just a few minutes and then they moved directly to analyst questions. Paul didn't say a word until Andy asked him to respond to a question regarding PLUG ownership of storage tanks.

This investor shareholder presentation is well done:
Yaay!
My prediction: $90 million and (.04) per share. FWIW.
GLTA longs.
Ok. Let me try your way:
Yaay! PLUG had to restate 2 years of earnings which precipitated a 60% drop in the share price. Yaay!
Yaay! PLUG said they would announce quarter 1 earnings on June 14 and now it's June 17th and no earnings yet. Yaay!
Yaay! Earnings are late and the company doesn't think it's necessary to inform the SEC or there stakeholders of how long the delay will be. Yaay!
You're right. I feel much better now. It's all a matter of persective. Thanks rbd1.

Here is a well balanced article from IBD:

JB- I agree. There is no way of knowing whether the supposed note from IR is real. If it is real, it is improper to give an individual investor a timeline without making it public. I expected a renewed effort of transparent communication after the restatement, but it appears I was wrong about that as well.
I hope we see the numbers soon.
Lol! I accidentally jumped in the pool for the last two hours and missed it all. Maybe somebody else can answer for you.
Agreed.
This is from Nasenbaer on Stocktwits:
Directly from PP: Good morning to my German friends,
At this point timing for the Q1 release, filing, and we do plan a call, is looking like weeks end potentially into early next week.
While there is a June 14th extension from NASDAQ expiring today, no additional filing is necessary we simply will notify NASDAQ of the delay and there are no issues.
With all our financial and accounting teams dedicated last few months on the 10-K after it was re-filed we actually left ½ the normal time for the Q filing thus the delay.
Appreciate your understanding – Roberto

JB- So it was! I'm going to leave the post as is to remind myself that I made a mistake once...after 64 years. LOL!
WTM- No credit needed. I should have thought to post it there myself.
JB- Does not this excerpt from the 5/14 press release indicate that PLUG requested an extension of the filing date until 6/17? It seems that way to me
As previously disclosed in its May 10, 2021 announcement, the Company requires additional time to complete its customary quarterly review and reporting process and the filing of its Form 10-Q for the first quarter ended March 31, 2021 and, as a result, filed a Form 12b-25 with the SEC to extend the Form 10-Q filing due date from May 10, 2021 to May 17, 2021.
There has been no indication whether the SEC approved the extension, but PLUG seems to think they did.

The only mention of ammonia on PLUG's website is in this article:
https://www.plugpower.com/getting-the-word-out-highlights-from-plug-powers-may-event-engagements/
"Andy outlined how green ammonia is a particularly promising solution to renewable energy transportation issues—by storing excess solar energy at a cost comparable to natural gas-generated hydrogen."
Good find, rgend. I notice they don't mention Vuzix, so their platform must work with competitors glasses also. Are there any competitors yet?
Vuzix just increased their dominance in the medical industry.
Vuzix Smart Glasses Expand AR Surgical Product Presence to Support Shoulder, Knee and Spine Surgeries
- NextAR surgical AR platform developed by Medacta International receives CE marking for knee, shoulder and spine applications.
- NextAR surgical AR platform receives US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for shoulder application.
ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 9, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Vuzix® Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), ("Vuzix" or, the "Company"), a leading supplier of Smart Glasses and Augmented Reality (AR) technology and products, today announced the market expansion to support the NextAR surgical AR platform developed by Medacta International, one of the world's largest providers of innovative orthopedic products focusing on healthcare sustainability. Having used the Vuzix Blade to complete the first smart glasses-based total knee replacement in the US in 2020, Medacta recently received its CE marking for knee, shoulder and spine applications for its NextAR Augmented Reality Surgical Platform in Europe and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for shoulder application. CE marking is an administrative marking with which the manufacturer or importer affirms its conformity with European health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European marketplace.
The NextAR platform employs a preoperative scan, with proprietary algorithms that create a personalized biomechanical model for each replacement. Surgeons equipped with Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses can then access biomechanical visualizations using augmented reality in real time, without having to divert their eyes from the procedure to glance at a computer screen. NextAR's smart delivery tools may improve efficiency in computer-assisted surgery by offering a compact solution that avoids the need for a bulky external detection platform. With a low upfront capital investment and overall lower cost per case compared to other technologies, this translates into greater efficiency in the operating room, which is particularly relevant for US Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs).
"We're proud to provide the hardware backbone for Medacta's NextAR platform as it continues to branch into new surgical applications which now include knee, shoulder and spine in Europe and knee and shoulder in the United States," said Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive Officer at Vuzix. "The Vuzix Smart Glasses are lightweight, comfortable and completely wireless, which means surgeons have complete freedom of movement and can wear them for extended operations."

xdx- Just going by memory here, but yes the target date set by PLUG is the 14th. I believe the 17th is the SEC date the company would become delinquent (again) if they don't report by then. If they're late for the 14th no real harm done, but missing the 17th is the one that could cause turmoil.
I'm beginning to suspect the Q1 numbers could be late due to a combination of:
A: A rapidly growing and increasingly complicated company with many new departments and financial information coming in from multiple world locations, and...
B: A stickler of a new KPMG auditor who won't sign off until he is satisfied every number is correct.
If the report does take past the 17th, PLUG will survive it and continue to thrive, although it might cause volatility for shareholders in the short term.
uk- Thank you. You are solid! Good information there.
It looks like the plant will be about 2/3rds of a mile from the intersection of the 2 highways with a couple neighbors closer than that. Plug will probably need to plant some appropriate landscaping to make it presentable for such a rural area.
I'm sure they'll work it out to everybody's satisfaction.
Thanks UK. Can you provide a google map of the STAMP site? I would like to see its proximity to Alabama, NY.
WTM- I had pictured the plant being right next to a river, using the rivers current to produce the needed electricity to produce the hydrogen. I suppose it's possible they could set up miles away from the river and have the electricity wired in, which is what they would have to do in order to inconvenience Alabama.
I like the idea of being next to rivers more.
