What if I work for CSCO and I don't want Vendit to know this. However, because of his shenanigans with redirects, etc. he finds out the source of my connection. Now he doesn't need a subpoena to put the process in motion of tracking me down.

I am not a security expert but I think that one would tell you that this is cause for concern.

I have heard that Vendit took it one step further and put a redirect into his profile either here or on Silicon Investor or both. I do not know which and I do not know if this is true. It is just something that I have heard.

Redirects should not be allowed by anyone.

Also, this calls into question a graphic automatically loading when viewing a thread.

I think it is of great concern. If one has already shown a propensity for using his/her computer knowledge for destructive purposes a person might have a cause for concern if one is using a cable modem.
You having that information is different than a person with a nefarious purpose gaining that information because of a redirect on a profile.

This information can be used to try to attack your computer to hack it. I am sure there are some computer experts here who could give you an understanding of why this is a major security breach. This would especially be troublesome if you were using a designated connection such as a cable connection or DSL.

A person has already tried to sabatoge some threads. The identity has not been revealed but if you notice you will see Vendit is not posting right now and his name was in the html code.

Not too hard to figure this one out......However, I do believe you very aggressively talked about past conduct on another site in a Private Message. This infuriated said person because it should have no bearing on the matter when a person was attacking the hell out of her for more than a month on two sites much of the time without a peep from said person. It went on for WEEKS AND WEEKS without a public peep from said person.

I could have my facts wrong, but I don't think so...if we are talking about the same person.

Revealing any kind of identifying information is a threat to a family and any administration that allows it is suspect. It is my understanding that Jenna already did it once on this site and there was no reason to believe that would not continue as stated. She certainly posted information about the "fired" individual. So I suppose she has done it at least twice.

Some people do not care if their name is public. Other people do care and don't want their information made public.

The internet is a dangerous place.

For example, it is now prime stomping ground for child molesters.

A clever child molester or rapist can easily track down your child.

It can start from something as simple as " I went to softball practice over at XYZ park. I am so tired."

It is amazing how many high powered corporate officials have been caught in child porn/ molestation/rape stings from the internet.


I suspect Lisa's friends and family were concerned about the revelation of personal identifying information.


I post this message as a warning to all about the internet. You may take the activity lightly but when it comes to the safety of your children it should become of paramount importance.
