I emailed Roger to complain about the lack of PRs of this year when compared to 2017 and he told me that there was a PR due this week.
Is it weird? Board games are fun. It’s easy to see where they got it. I like it.
Today the Morning purchase has begun to bear fruit. And this is only the beginning.
One of the reason why software is so appealing is because 1 piece of software can be sold multiple times.
Board games are no different. One game can generate millions of dollars over the years. Look at monopoly.
Am I saying that this game is the next monopoly? No, but it doesn’t need to be.
It’s a new revenue stream, and that is always good
Oh happy day!
The location for the 6th location has been found and a second print run order has been made!
Chaching!
I think that management agrees as well. It is in their best interest to expand, and they have already stated that they plan to. They have an expansion team in place.
But expansions take time and capital. Unless we find visionary investors like JRF we would need to grow organically. That can be a slow process.
That is why they are looking into other revenue streams, to hasten the process.
How many companies do you see at this level that have a business of any kind? Let alone the multiple revenue streams we do?
Every day, real money is made, by real customers buying our food/beverages, and games.
AMFE
I agree with the tempering of expectations. It would be awesome if this turned out to be a mega hit for the ages, but that is a pretty high bar.
I don’t have any expectations at all myself. I want to see how it does and how much money it can make.
The point is that we added a new way of making money, and that is never a bad thing.
Right. You rode the technical wave. That was awesome. Congrats, for real.
It is my belief that that will be chump change when compared to the potential this stock represents though.
I agree with you, the quality of the stock currently sucks. Thankfully I am focused on the quality of the company, and there is a lot of evidence which points to a great picture of the company
I have held for 2 years because i believed in the potential of the company.
During these past 2 years the potential has only grown.
The catalysts remain, the company has grown, the potential is even bigger.
I will not only continue to hold, but in the coming weeks/ months I will buy more
While it is true that most of the people who see this board are current shareholders, every DD filled post is important for future people who see this board
I think that the mere fact that we can argue which is going to be the driver of revenue speaks volumes of this company.
I am very excited to be part of this movement.
Do you think I care which source brings in more millions?
No! Thank goodness we have 2 great sources of revenue and that very soon we will have 3!
I think you hit the nail on the head there
Acquiring Morning the way they did was already pretty wise from their part.
They are diversifying within the same business sector which they know, board games.
The team dedicated to making games in no way interferes from the expansion team, but they can benefit from the game gurus/ development nights at each location to test their own games and make create hype before making it public.
I think it’s very hard to argue against the Morning acquisition. The orders *already* made by big box retailers may have already gone a long way into recuperating the loss of the acquisition, and it is entirely possible that future orders could pay for one or more locations themselves.
I don’t have PM, so I apologize for making this response public.
I think it all depends on what your definition is “soon” means.
I think that there are many things in play which could make the share price jump very quickly.
For all the criticism this stock faces due to the lack of audits, once they do come, they will cause a chain reaction.
As you know, the most important thing is the revenues, and S&L is building a very solid base.
There are already 17 parties in advanced talks to open their own franchise.
Assuming that each location moves $4 mill
4 x 17 = 68mill.
That’s $68 mill based on those locations alone
What about distribution? If Snakes does half as well in the US than it has in Canada, well, we are talking a pretty penny right there.
And publishing? This one is much harder to predict, but CAH made 50 mill in 1 year. We can’t say that this game will be in the same league as CAH, but what if it is? Snakes didn’t buy Morning just because it was cheap, they wanted KTU.
Once the audits hit, i expect the share price to reach the high teens on that alone. I would not be surprised for this to hit .50 or even $1 in the next 8 months
So KTU has finally reached the distribution centers.
And just like that ANOTHER revenue stream is finally in play.
Bear in mind that this is the FIRST self published game.
S&L definitely makes for a great case study of expansion:
They started off with a novel idea. A place where you can enter (and pay) to play board games, eat and drink.
The place was so popular that they saw the need to get a new place. So they did.
In the process of doing so they got a little bit in debt, and could not effectively manage that stress.
Enter Roger Mortimer and Amfil Technologies. He saw the great opportunity that this business represented and he made a bid to buy it and make it public.
With the debt effectively managed, the team at S&L were able to continue with their vision and expand.
Distribution began. They did their job well. So much so that they became the preferred distributor for many publishers, and obtained EXCLUSIVE distribution rights to multiple games.
And they grew. Once again another location was needed. A 3rd one was opened in Toronto.
The story began to spread. Now other investors started to see what a hit this could be.
Enter JRF, and a push for multiple locations in the worlds largest market, the USA began.
We have now 4 locations open, with multiple people keen on opening their own franchise, all of them waiting on the audits to release.
This (the audits) has definitely been a slow process, but the growth has been anything but slow. And the company has not slowed down its pace. They are looking at a possible 3rd pillar for their business. Self Publishing.
Enter the acquisition of Morning Plays. An all cash acquisition of a game making company which includes all their past (and future) games and none of the debt. This may very well be one of the best acquisitions ever made by the company.
Can S&L help Morning Plays grow into the potential that it shows? This is the first test. The first board game created in house by S&L, self published. What will happen now?
I am on the edge of my seat, but I have my 150,000 stocks with me
Snakes&Lattes has everything in place to become a massive success.
This is no mere board game cafe. Thanks to it’s distribution branch, it has established connections that span across multiple clients ranging from big brand stores like Walmart to small stores like other board game cafes.
They have situated themselves in such a way that people in the business look to them for guidance, often referring to them as the “Motherboard”.
They keep adding to their revenue streams. They are so good doing their job that multiple game makers look to them to be the EXCLUSIVE distributor for their games.
With the acquisition of Morning plays, they officially entered the publishing side of the business. Games are like software, make it once and sell it as many times as possible.
The success of their publishing division will depend very much on marketing, but S&L is in a very advantageous position in that department as well. They can literally tell their gurus to keep this game in mind when helping their customers. Or they can do special events to introduce the game etc
Just to add to that, AMFE didn’t just acquire 1 game. They acquired a game *maker*. There are multiple games (I believe 3-5) which are either in the advanced phases of production. KTU is just one of them.
There is a certain similarity between board games and software. Which is, you make it once, you sell it multiple times.
One thing they absolutely have to get right is the marketing. Just like many other products, the fact that it sells does not necessarily correspond to the quality of the product, but to the effectiveness of its marketing.
The good thing is that Snakes is extremely well positioned to sell their products, not only to individual customers through retail, but also to big brand stores, such as Walmart.
The odds that revenue will continue to grow at an accelerated pase are very good
Snakes is a pretty big deal. It’s making millions in Canada and US. It’s expanding in multiple fronts (publishing, retail, distribution)
and it is going to make it’s shareholders rich.
More than just that, it will bring in more eyes to S&L and subsequently to AMFE.
Lots of many more new eyes
At this point, any one who wanted out is out. It’s been 2 years of this marathon, and we have remained.
I suggest you buy some stock. The company is going to be seen as undervalued very soon.
And I mean *SEEN*. This company is WAY under the radar, but not for long
Im really interested in the Florida one.
So? I see 4 locations open right now and a 5th set to open before the end of the year.
By the way, we should be due for some news soon. Last news came on 5/13, previous news came on 4/06.
What is this? 1,000 new messages and no news?
We are in the middle of the year. Financials are 3 quarters late, no audits, last update was a month ago.
I think S&L has a ton of potential, but I think we deserve more information than what we have.
And I think we should let the CEO know about our distress.
We are in June. We are literally in the half of the year. No audit. No un audited financials. No information.
Watch it come to the day of restriction, large dumping all around, price comes way lower and then some one buys crazy amounts of the stock, making it run to the dollars
Board games as a better sell than video games, because consoles stop selling after the new generation is out, therefore making games on those systems almost impossible to get.
Board games on the other hand, can sell for a far longer time
Long story short I am making a wild guess based of my poor math skills.
It will all depend on the numbers that finally get posted.
Right now it is trading at a $36 million market cap. That is roughly 2x the amount of revenues posted by the company of 2018.
I know people are hoping for 10x revenue, but that is rarely the case. Most companies trade at 3x revenues.
That said, I think that the company can hit $30 mill this year. That would place us between .75-.80
But again, it all depends on the numbers
Nothing new, if that is what you are asking, but the existing story is definitely convincing enough.
Any one buyer could see the story of S&L today and say “this is the stock to buy”.
We are just a little bit burned because we have followed the company for such a long time, but an investor in say Tucson, could have heard of AMFE for the first time 2 weeks ago.
Or any business man in Tempe could see how successful S&L is and may want to open another one in a different location.
Or an investor could see that S&L is going to explode by visiting Tempe for the first time yesterday.
That’s another great thing about our business. New eyes every day
It also doesn’t include what they make as a retailer.
Snakes&Lattes has a huge library of games, 800+ and if customers like what they see, they can also buy the games right then and there.
But they do not sell games only to passerby’s. Their biggest customers are brand stores such as Walmart etc. They have already made orders of 40k items.
Once Snakes&Lattes enters the publishing business proper, the profits derived from such orders will be much higher than they are now
Management has also had the vision to carve a market for themselves which is not easily broken into.
They distribute hundreds of games, many of which they have obtained EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS to.
This means that if AMAZON wants to sell their games, they have to buy them from Snakes&Lattes.
This means that if WALMART want to carry their games, they must order them through Snakes&Lattes
Snakes&Lattes makes money by charging a $5 entry fee which gives customers access to their 800+ board game library. They also charge for food & drinks (including alcohol)
Snakes&Lattes currently owns 4 locations. A 5th location. Was announced for Tucson AZ, and is set to open this fall.
They also make revenue by distributing games, there is a huge list of Kick Starter games which are being distributed by them.
They are also set to enter the publishing business and their first game will enter the market in the next few months
The 10k could bring us near the .20s
Thanks
I can’t wait until they start getting a foothold in the US distribution market
I think much of the success will depend on marketing.
That’s another question to ask ourselves. S&L as a concept is great, I think it’s going to be wildly popular, but as they enter the publishing business, how are they going to be able to reach the best audience?
They can not rely solely on retail. At least not with their current amount of locations.
They will probably sell in bulk to bigger stores
The best way to be “all in” is to consistently speak ill about the business.
Makes perfect sense
