Earnings wasn't great but the market seems to be reacting to the anticipated future potential of the new chip. Anticipate being the keyword.
me too. good luck to us.
So was I.
the dog will have it's day. not too late to accumulate IMO. enjoy the ride.
I think everyone knows that already.
Shub, it looks like we are going to breakout pretty soon. Better get loaded back up down here.
Understood. Sometimes you gotta go with your instinct, and age! Good luck with the rest of your holdings. I bought a bit more of this yesterday and last week before the run up. Hoping for the best.
Definitely interested to hear about these other companies you are referring to that are raising your doubts, in light of the recent positive news on settlement with ONT. Do you mean Roche's Genia?
Not sure if you follow ARK Funds but they have been increasing in PACB fairly largely recently. Not sure what they know?
which companies are you referring to Shub? they just won a favorable suit against ONT yes?
Shub, we got a little extra oxy from the crew at pac b with the system upgrades. let's see if this translates to more sales- it should.
Thanks for the words Shub. I've got to try diving one of these days. I've surfed quite a bit in my days and I seem to do better at catching waves made of water than catching the waves of a stock price! Let's staying calm, and hope for better days going forward. Praying isn't really my thing.
hi Shub, well we are getting closer to Zero everyday. Not sure what to think about this junk anymore I'm way under water and the air tank has just a few more breaths left.
You guys still holding your bags here? Wow- This is a sinking ship.
As I said before this dismal report and stock drop- patience is wearing thin on this group and you see the evidence today.
Kathy Ornez is supposed to save the world now? Give me a break! She's been there for years already as a director (getting free shares) - she should have already given better advice on commercializing product by now, Wow what a truly lousy bunch this is!
Boy I hope you are right on this Shub. Patience is running thin with this company/group.
Shub, all I hear is it is too expensive to run. They won't get any recognition until the reduce costs drama- tically. ILMN continues to eat their lunch.
shub, not sure anyone actually cares much in the investment world about all that. it's a matter of more Sequel orders, that's all that's going to move this unfortunately. that and increased thoroughput which we haven't seen but has been promised.
Shub, check out the article Paul just posted. He wants to get in at 3 so he can sell it at 6. What a joke eh?
That guy heavily praises Pacb then says he's looking for $3 to get in, effectively a 25%+ discount to today's price.
Then he mentions it could be a buyout target for around $6.
Do you consider that to be a good thing?? From back to IPO price and above to buyout at $6?
What a joke!
Shub! SGMO. Gene editing revolution has begun.
shub, on CLVS a director sold 1/2 his shares for a cool million and half this month. doesn't mean it's going down but I like to see them buying high and selling higher! could also mean he needed to make a purchase on a new house in Boulder lol
BLAIR JAMES C Director Aug 04 Sale 78.61 18,450 1,450,355 17,056 Aug 08 04:03 PM
shub- it seems that it is starting to happen-- researchers are finding more reasons to: goPACBIO.
Shub, I don't know enough about Clovis to comment unfortunately. I'll watch it though. I know you don't follow technicals but looking at it on a monthly my best guess is that it does a monthly cup and handle which means consolidates a few months between 70 and 100 then if anything good, it will go higher.
As for PACB I think the short squeeze ain't over. I'm being optimistic but I think the run goes to around $7..
Check this out by our friends in HK-

It has been estimated that when using these second generation sequencing platforms, around 95% of the money and time are spent in completing the last 1% of the bacterial genome. The extra labor cost and time spent to improve the draft genomes by additional sequencing for gap-filling or to determine the order and orientation of contigs are considerably high and negates any initial cost savings (Table 5). In contrast, although the cost per base is more expensive for the PacBio RS II platform compared to short-read sequencing technology, no additional manual work after de novo assembly is required and the benefit of obtaining an accurate number of individual replicons and an intact assembly of repetitive regions and mobile genetic elements justify the initial cost. In particular, these complex and repetitive elements have been shown to be relevant and important to evolution and diseases, providing good foundation for comparative and evolutionary genomic studies
Shub, I'm also looking at CDXS. Do you know of that one? Seems on a uptrend and a director bought some shares around this level. Thanks
Shub, from Summer of last year to this summer CLVS has gone from $15 to $100. Wouldn't that be considered a major run and time to take $ off the table? Where do you see this going by end of the year? Thanks.
Shub, looking at Clovis now again. I see they are in Boulder. I lived there last year..not necessarily the biotech hub of the US but I know there are some bios there. They make anti-cancer pills? Is that what it is? I've never heard of that but it sounds like a good idea. What was the reason for the huge runup from $15 to $100 in the past year? That's pretty amazing! Thanks.
Haha, sounds great Shub. Wish to have witnessed some of that hilarity. Yeah you are probably right although I need this to get up to $8.50 just to break even. I probably wouldn't even sell it then! Too stubborn been in this since 2011 with some major mistakes- feels like a Masters Degree on what not to do in stocks! Well, let's see how things progress on the global front. Seems that could be their forté if the tech is as good as it sounds, sometimes the US is slow especially with the ILMN monopoly going on here.
As for Clovis it's kinda high priced for me at this point with PACB being in the 3's.. I'm actually looking at picking up more NVTA now. What do you think of that guy? Seems they could be a huge winner in the space if all goes as planned.. Thanks.
Shub, how's that for a CC, eh? Demand in China, in a big way! We can't just focus on the US anymore. This is a global company and more is on the way. That was an impressive call. I may add more. -Masters
Shub, sorry to hear that. CEMP apparently had a lot of promise and was a top pick in a research group that I follow. However they took a 70% loss on it which is unusual for them. Thankfully I never entered a position on it for whatever reason. They are very bullish on NVTA though and most of their ideas are well in the green. I think you are in that one at least. Hopefully it will make up for some of that loss.
Hi Shub,
Honestly hope the share price already reflects the current administration's anti-science rhetoric and actions. My best guess is that you are right though and it takes another dump on earnings. I really truly wish I am wrong on that as I am getting hammered, smoked, whatever you wanna call it, you name it. This sucks.

(not feeling like a master but more like a slave to the Sequel)
What are you guys so happy about? New lows?
It took 3 years for PACB to go from $2 to 14. And probably 1.5 years to go from $14 back down to $2, maybe even $1.75. Ouch.
Not sure, I'm not. Relatively speaking that is, to a Whale.. ;)
I'm not sure what percentage of the float is owned by normal folks vs institutional vs retail etc. Insiders own .9% though that is showing up on Finviz.
Let's hope they don't get bought out down here at $3. Who would pay $16+ from $3?
I heard there is only 47 individual investors in PACB. Can't remember where I saw that. Wow so 45 others besides us that aren't institutions or insiders.
Hehe, thank u for reminding me of that. I can get a bit trigger happy some times on concepts concocted from thin air. U are right neither of us no's diddly.
I think we have seen the low on here. Some think it is going to tank again after the offering and that this is being propped up for the sale at 3.10. I'm betting against that idea I think the stock has seen enough pain for 18 months and that Hunkapillar is finally going to DO SOMETHING.
Shub, Well some thing is up with this monkey insiders exercising options.. Maybe they are going to sell this sooner than we think. If that is true it can't be for much as they just diluted the shares with the offering and we're still in the 3's...
Would love to hear your thoughts on these current financial moves- offering and recent insider buys.
Thanks!
Sure hope so. They are obviously cash strapped so the dilution continues. We will have to see what happens after the offering closes. It could go into the 2's after, just my thought. Sucks.
Shub, what do you think, slow drift to 0 on this or wake up some day and it's trading at $8 on a buyout? Seems $16 is fantasy at this point. Thanks.
Hi Shub.. News, Lol that is something this company rarely ever produces. I just look at Yahoo MB and StockTwits for conversational news and sometimes look at ILMN news to see if I can connect any dots.
Some twits say they are hearing of buyout by ILMN but do not share sources which leads me to believe that is why it's called StockTwits, 'twit' being the key word.
The CFO just exercised 276K options as well yesterday.. Must be something is up unless they really just need extra cash for the company. Together so far they raised about 2million+ for the company by exercising those. Hmm..
