Steve,
I don't have time to read. Can you trade for me? Also, I don't have time to fund my account. Can you do that for me too? Let me know when I am rich. LOL
You are a patient man, my friend.
FM
Nice call Foot!
Ya, I agree. We need a CJ system to add to the mix. You should sell it on c2.
TimingCube
Hey Jim,
I really hope that no one here subscribes to TimingCube anymore. They are a dishonest bunch. They used to post their real trades before the signal failed completely and they had to re-do it. Now, they don't post real trades at all.
These guys are crooks, plain and simple.
Is he buying individual stocks? It didn't look like low risk, but maybe I missed something.
Hey Rain,
Just my opinion here, but I have purchased quite a few timing systems (Merlin, TimingCube, etc.) and all have failed except mvp. Steve (the guy behind mvp) is always looking for ways to make it better. He used to make changes quite a bit years ago (too much for my liking), but this thing is pretty stable now. I think he only made one change that I know of since I subscribed last year.
Piggybacks have been great in real time. Steve always cautions about not expecting too much, but lately the piggybacks have been spot on. Keep in mind though that if you use this for your 401K, just dump it all in at the first buy and ignore piggybacks. Same for IRA's unless you want to take half at the initial signal and then play the piggybacks with the other half.
Is decisionmoose or stock scouter as good as MVP? Well, mvp has won handily since being live, but it has only been live a little over a year. Also, I don't think you want to throw all of your cash into one system. Decisionmoose has posted 30% per year for a long time and ss has posted over 20% per year for a long time. These are real time results too, not made-up back-test results.
As with any system, actually taking the trades is key. There is always a reason to second guess the system. Ignoring the news and trading the signal is hard to do but will make you successful. It is the trades I think are most wrong that turn out to be the best trades.
Take care,
FM
Rainbow - I have subscribed to both mvp and merlin. I lost money with merlin and made money with mvp. It's that simple. Merlin has closed their old system and is now Merlin 2 I think. I can't take another risk like that. If you want other systems to diversify, two good free ones are decisionmoose and stock scouter.
Good luck,
FM
10%? Stockscouter has more than doubled that for 7 years live. B&H beats 10% over the longer run.
Why do you like him?
I am in the same boat French. This was the last paid system I am prepared to try. If this doesn't work, I am banning myself from paid systems.
Sam,
Are you still with mvp? I think you may be right that we can retire early if this keeps up. Waaaa-hoooo.
FM
Steve,
Why didn't you have us out before the big downturn this week? Oh ya, you did.
Word to the wise for anyone reading this. Get mvp. But don't tell anyone. LOL
FM
Very cool. I am a big fan of small business owners. You "greedy" people make the economy run.
No doubt Fan. It's almost as if they have no training in economics whatsoever. Oh, wait...
LOL Foot. Did you hear that Obama was black?
He used the race card the other day by saying something like that. Good grief, I think we know he is black. What a baby he is.
Thanks Fan, good info.
Hey Bob,
Sorry if you told me already and I forgot, but what kind of businesses do you own? How is mall traffic now? We all seem to be putting on the spending brakes. I am no exception.
FM
Correct. Of course, people like Al Gore can waste all of the energy they want. Conservation is always for others.
Right, it is crazy. I think someday it will be like the scene in Star Wars where everyone has their own small nuclear plant. Energy production is going to get more and more decentralized. We are considering going solar here in AZ and selling some power back. I think the payback time on the investment is 3-4 years or something like that. Plus it would be nice not to depend on someone else for power just from a freedom perspective. Now if I could only get my wife to agree on rubber plants that don't need water (our water bill is outrageous). LOL
No, I agree French with your basic premise. But banning it cold turkey would do a lot of damage. If I told you to start riding your bike to work tomorrow with no time to prepare, you may have an adverse reaction. There is simply no good reason not to drill here.
In a way, these prices are good because it will provide the force necessary to push the lefties out of the way in the case of nuclear. Technology is also pushed due to higher prices. I live in AZ but solar hasn't been an economical option until recently. Why? Because the sun can detroy anything, including the sloar hardware used to collect energy. It is just now becoming a good deal.
You forgot hydrogen, which will also be a part of our future.
We are in changing times. The changes are bigger than we see day to day. By the way, the Model T was the first affordable car and it 'put America on wheels.' When did it come out? Would it surprise you that the 100 year anniversary is coming up in October? That's right, it has only been 100 years and the changes since then have been enormous. I have lived almost half the time that automobiles have been affordable. That really puts things into perspective. Imagine what the next 100 years will bring.
I agree but I think most of those on the left are 'all or none' type people. Since that's their attitude, they may get none.
Wow, that January spike down shows up in all 3 charts. The one last summer shows up in 2 of the 3. We aren't really at an extreme though, are we?
I saw a poll tonight where over 70% want to drill right away. Enough with the leftist politics of 'it won't help', let's just get it done. Nukes too.
Speaking of 'can't fix stupid' I heard a quote once I thought was funny. How do you know if you aren't too stupid to know that you aren't smart? LOL.
Hey Trops,
Right, I think on my own I wouldn't have done as well. Congrats on being up ytd.
FM
Hi CJ,
If you have any insight on your profunds systems, please share. MVP and Decisionmoose have been great. TMG has been terrible. Do you follow TMG? I left them last year after a lot of losses. Glad I did.
FM
I feel very fortunate to have made money this year given the performance of the indexes.
McCain is a Bush extention? He blasts Bush every chance he gets. You must not be paying attention to current events (line from the movie Aliens).
You deserve to pay more in taxes.
Right, they want to dictate to everyone how to live. Too bad there are so many people who won't see it until it is too late.
Hey Foot,
I didn't know about the Christianity thing in China, that's cool.
I agree there aren't any Republicans running. I can't vote for Obama, but if he gets in I could see a huge back-lash that could get us back in the majority.
Obama talks like a conservative but votes like a socialist. He scares me.
FM
Thanks. I would post more, but the boards have been pretty quiet it seems. I check in once a week or so now.
Obama said that gas prices went up too fast. Not that they were too high mind you, but that they went up too fast. He wants high gas prices so we drive less. How poor do we have to be before Obama is satisfied?
Wow, you are naive my friend. Obama is the most dishonest politician since Carter.
If you don't like money, why trade? If you do like money, why vote for Obama? He WILL raise your taxes, no doubt about it.
Interesting CJ. I heard about that relationship but I didn't know about the extremes.
I almost want to post a negative review so there are fewer followers. Just kidding. Hopefully the number of subscribers won't break it.
LOL, he is a good talker.
Problem: Slow growth
Obama's answer: Raise taxes on everyone but say its only on the rich
Problem: Iran
Obama's answer: Talk with them directly as prez and claim we have no other way to communicate
Problem: Energy shortage
Obama's answer: Forbit drilling in Alaska, nuke plants and refineries but blame it on the other side.
Problem: Race relations
Obama's answer: Hang out with people who say 'GD America' and 'I'm white I'm entitled', bomb the pentagon and get you special deals on real estate before going to jail.
Why can't people see past this guy? I don't think we are at the end times yet, but the Anti-Christ is going to have an easy time persuading a lot of people.
The only time I got in trouble with your system was when I treated to tweak it myself. I think adding momentum vehicles to your system works better in the long run, but there can be a lot more pain along the way. Sticking to the rules pays off.
Hey, high-level question for you. I should probably ask over on yahoo, but here goes. Someone said that going all in at the beginning of a signal results in higher gains than using pb's. I haven't back-tested it, but those pb's seem to be spot on most of the time. I think you said once they they account for 1/2 the profit, which makes me think the total returns (ignoring risk) are the same. So, which is accurate when it comes to pb returns vs. all-in on day 1?
My real time experience: Use pb's for max return
If pb's give 1/2 the gains: It's a wash
Back-tested: Don't use pb's for max return
Just a high-level answer is fine since I know it has been kicked around a bit. I know that pb's reduce risk a lot, I am just wondering about return.
You were a few hours off on your sell this time. I am really disappointed. LOL
MCain - Did you see him on SNL last night? Pretty funny.
Per c2: 267% annualized for mvp!
Don't tell anyone. It's a secret. LOL.
Nice job.
I agree. Plus he is quick to adjust if things start going off track. I wish I had waited for Merlin to be live to 6 months--would have saved me a lot of money.
Right, words to live by. Funny thing is, he is my last hope for a paid system. I have gone through several and none of them panned out. A 200dma system beats most of the pretenders out there. Actually, B&H beats them. LOL
If value = what you get / what you give
Then you have to be #1 on c2.
