Great article. It's about time this is happening!
I am hoping for improvement in sales, introduction of new product and clarity of new marketing strategy.
The world has changed, and brick and mortar sales have changed, the way we shop in the future is still not settled, so I hope CVSI listens to market trends and adapts to increase sales.
He is showing as 10% owner mainly because he has unvested options. Those options will remain unvested until the CVSciences Civil suit against him is active. Last I checked, the wheels are moving slowly in SD Civil court and next hearing in Oct 2021. URGH, He will loose those unvested shares once court proceedings end.
Dig a little deeper, look at the shares he actually has vested, you will see he owns less than 2%, but he must continue to report as a 10% holder until this whole mess is cleared up.
As I stated in my earlier post, he is gone, and CVSI still has some stench to clear up, but in no way is he directing anything at CVSI at this time.
Now we all know that MONAs ARE GONE, albeit that some of the cleanup is still happening.
Dang, I am sure glad that I am not judged for something an associate did. A former boss is sitting in prison because of what she did; I was in management when I worked there. So glad her cr4p did not fall on me.
Same can be said for Dowling - Mona had too much control when he was there. You and I cannot say for sure how much, nor can we judge Dowling for the sins of Mona!
It may surprise you.
If you stop to think about it... It is very smart of them to hold off on the PR until after receiving written confirmation.
I have more trust in CVSI management than I do to anons posting their opines.
I think they will do a PR once they receive official notification.
I think the board is well selected. Only issue is with the chair. Someone said CEO and Chair being the same person sometimes stifles growth; I feel this is true for CVSI. Many of the visions of the company are good, but perhaps, with the change in marketing and distribution, adding that with purchasing changes made during COVID (idiotic, imho) lockdowns, marketing needs to change to keep up.
just my opine.
I agree on the strategy, voted yes for the increased shares as well.
No on compensation, and I also feel that the Chair should go to someone else.
I received mine yesterday.if you dont get yours, verify email and/ or message vs at etrade
no, I'm referring to the joint safety study that CVSI did not need to participate in as they have independent safety studies on their own products. Additionally CVSI has several peer reviewed studies,
False narratives that CVSI does not have peer reviewed studies.
CV Sciences has produced many clinical safety studies, but did it much earlier than most. AFAIK, they submitted their safety studies when the FDA asked for documentation. CVSI was the only company at the FDA hearings stating they had safety studies in hand.
Now, just because they are not spinning their wheels and duplicating their work with the *group think study*, someone suggests that their earlier work is for naught.
Today's *think* processes, sheeze
Good to see this. Now we wait....
thank you
DY, is CW selling seeds only, or do they have farms in Canada?
True, I have been cheering, and continue to do so, I believe the company/product have potential. I, however, do not have access to a fly on the wall in management discussions, and have to make a best guess effort on potential. At this time, I feel management has *missed the shot* and may be setting up for a new one. IMHO, management does not deserve large bonus awards for performance, and I will support my view with voting.
In any case, stock prices fluctuate a lot due to charts, whims, and personal opines. This is on the down trend, and will go back up in the near future; there is no harm in having both a LT and ST position is there? I can hold shares ST and make 20% -100% this year. Why not??
BTW my LT hold outweighs my ST hold.
I don't see 0.20 at this point.
Have a good day!
It's a common enough term in investing, no need to disclose the exact amount, is there? Suffice it to say, significant # to some, immaterial # to others; for me, it's a good ST position.
I agree, banking is very important, as you stated. Just wondering if it will help nudge the FDA, as most feel Big P may be helping with the delay. Hoping this loosens the hold, as hopefully big investors will begin lobbying the FDA.
lol... I do hope the bill gets passed, many businesses need this safety. Now, will the banking bill actually help with the FDA?
You're back. Stay sober, the week is just starting! ;)
I got a block @ $0.42; hope this is the low day for a while.
If one is going to analyze income and bonus pay, one needs to remember the timing of bonus pay.
Part of the $2.7 Dowling made in 2019, was stock options issued for performance for 2018. One cannot equate his income in 2019 to performance in 2019 as payment is in arear; so his 2020 pay reflects 2019 perfomance, and 2021 pay will reflect his 2020 performance. Books need to be closed and audited. This is why Mona III received shares after he was gone, payment after the fact.
Vote with your shares on approving performance pay. It's there in the proxy, you just need to remember that approval is for this year, to be paid out next year. Goals are set, goals need to be met.
What makes you think corporate culture hasn't changed?
They have 45 days after close of period, or around May 15. We should know about 2 weeks before earnings call. I don't expect to hear anything before last week in April.
That may be true, but true also is that the post I was referring to was incomplete and biased. As of now, save Dowling, all the old players from CVSI are gone. Mr Dowling is not Mike Mona. Once a person recognizes the difference, perspective changes, and the TRUTH is freeing.
You didn't read the article...
CVSI is ahead of the game on safety studies, so this is not the topic of discussion.
The topic is:
CVSI is partnering to help other labs standardize testing....
I'll read your rebuttal when it is focused on the thread, not on a seqway.
OH GOOD GRIEF, CANNVEST NO LONGER EXISTS, SO WHY MISLEAD WITH WITH AN ARTICLE YOU PUBLISHED, AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE CURRENT NEWS?
WHAT ABOUT PUBLISHING THE OUTCOME OF THE SEC LITIGATION? WHY JUST THE INITIAL RELEASE?
I KNOW OF SOME COMPANIES WHO KEEP CHANGING OR ADDING TO THEIR BUSINESS MODEL, WHY PICK ON CVSI??? Does it scare you?
Alkemist Labs has great credentials as well as a global client base. One has to wonder --Why partner with CVSciences over other brands?--
Has anyone received Proxy info from E-Trade? E.G. the *Control ID* and/or *Request ID* in order to be able to cast our votes.
I've messaged them requesting so I can vote those shares.
Thanks, in advance, for any info.

Looks like you were right, it hit the 40's, and held. I added 3 times on the way down, my 4th buy order @ 0.42 did not fill. I hope it doesn't.
I think the issue is, CVSI lost CBD market share, sales have dropped drastically YOY, while others, - Hemp Fusion - have increases sales YOY; most retail investors do not see the sales $$ only YOY percentage change.(HF = 0.7M (17), 1.2M(18) 3.0M(19) and 4.1(20)) and base their expectations on that. Plus CBD seems to be loosing ground currently.
That being said - hope is when FDA releases CBD to the market, PlusCBD will again make sales hand over fist. Many of the smaller companies do not have the studies, or safety data like CVSI (or a few other larger CBD companies).
I am a great fan of PlusCBD, but I am one who is shaking my head wondering what is management doing??
Happy Easter to my Christian Friends,
Chag sameach for Passover to my Jewish friends,
Great weekend to the rest!
Appreciate the insight. I can appreciate hard work, long hours and the ability to make decisions which change the trajectory of a company. It takes talent to be willing to accept that an idea or a direction is not working, and change it, as opposed to *hoping* times change to adapt to one's idea.
Well, I have never run a company, but have kept books for a few. I can see financial reasons for some decisions made, but I will admit that I do not have the talent to *think outside the box* to solve marketing issues, or to help a company grow, so I cannot truly render an opinion, which is why I asked for an opine of someone who has been there, done that.
Although I am disappointing in 2020 performance, and think that Dowling can do a better job... (one has to stop and see how the shareholders voted in the past 3 years when he had good ideas and the shareholders shot them down. If management needs to work in the confines of shareholder (most uninformed) votes, they have to do that). and Dowling's vision may differ from mine or yours, the company direction is different from others, and some shareholders feel his time is short, none of this means that the company will go into receivership.
Company needs a wake up call.... Mona issues need to be fully resolved, and none of us are flies on the wall in meetings, so we don't know exactly where things stand with Monas, we can only guess.
I don't like the idea of dilution, but my understanding is that there need to be a certain percentage available to offer.
I wish that someone who has been in Dowlings shoes, I mean, actually worked through this type of scenario will offer their insight, all other opines are just that, opines.
well said, I appreciate your input. Perhaps, management got a wake up call as well. I just hope the future for the company is brighter.
great post... many reasons for additional shares,
thank you for your insight
I don't think this is cause to think there is a possible merger. During the Earnings Call, Mr. Dowling mention seeking financing. My thoughts are this is for raising capital.
I think they need to get their marketing shored up... How does one get visibility outside of TV? Where are the radio ads? I'd like to see in your face adds somewhere....but I digress...
IMHO, CVSI is on shaky ground right now, Does Mr. Dowling, et all have enough fortitude to guide CVSI out of this? The next few months will be telling. I still think there is great potential here, but dang it all to heck and back... What happened in the last 18 months???
another digression I'd also love to hear an update on Monas. Personally, I hope the Monas will be help more liable in the lawsuits. But we have a corrupt system, so who knows.....
I partially agree, CW did well. I need to study the financials a bit better to fully comment on the partially.
Have a good weekend, Ania
