thanks sojourn, that would make sense, hope NW, BP, make a deal with LP so we can move on with approval and commercialization. They have their cheap shares, let's hope they let it move up so they can make more money on the long side than the short side.
NWDR hope you and your wife are well! Good to see you! meant to tell you I like your analysis on MC based on different scenarios. Best to you and your wife wishing you both good health!
It's beyond stupidity to short a 20 cent stock with 98 alive survivors in NGBM with a phase III readout anyway now! They keep on saying trial has failed and yet we have 98 alive kicking folks with NGBM and possibly over 70% of them PFS! Go Figure? Somebody should tell them they should not be around but they are...imho those MM are so smart!
Dr.Skiadas, Cardiologist buying 100K blocks, if every cardiologist, surgeon, neurosurgeon, anesthesiologist, radiologist, etc... bought 100K we would be putting up some serious numbers! 100K is nothing for them. He is no dummy, glad he is making some noise! Good job! Hope all those docs follow him have other docs friends...
Thanks alpha for the confirmation!
nice, hope N.Woodford starts buying again with those monies... especially when he is at the conference with Merck executives.
cool sojourn, yeah I could recommend a young college filmmaker, would be a great project, imho.
Senti, you should shoot a documentary about what happened at NWBO and DC-Vax, after all this is over and DC-Vax gets approval... I bet you can get lots of help from all the longs on the board, UCLA Docs, NWBO... etc... would make a great story! Especially the patients... Sunday Dennis, Kat...
Excellent choice Merck, got a winner here folks! Time for AF and crew to eat some humble pie! It's delicious, nutritious and better than grapefruit juice! wink wink... long time coming but worth the wait! Wow wait till those cancer kids find out AF and crew have been trying to kill the cure for cancer, out of greed... AF let's watch johnny go ring that bell again!
Nice, hope it is Merck and BMY since both have approved CI's a LP requirement for DC-Vax to be in combo trials with only APPROVED THERAPIES wink wink...
I will, I saw the presentation and that's what she said, 248 PFS had not been reached. As expected you lowered yourself to name calling Dr.Bosch who has more integrity than you will ever understand. People who resort to name calling lack any credibility, integrity or self worth. Be Well!
Dr.Liau at her 12/15/16 presentation stated 248 PFS events had not been reached. Dr.Bosch stated 6/5/17 presentation 233 OS events had not been reached. As I said past delusional but good luck with your denials.. you are the queen of... Past 24 months minimum since surgery with possibly 98 patients alive and our PFS numbers based on 83 PFS patients as of 2/6/17.... who has tin foil around their heads????
rk, it's past delusional when 248 PFS event reached, was announced Feb. 6th 2017 for them still say false progression from pseudoprogressors would doom the trial to failure. They must think we are truly saps to believe that line hook and stinker! Actually I am embarrassed for them especially you know who...
blame, anger, resentment are feelings of people who take no responsibility for their own choices. You always have a choice, take responsibility for your choices and you will find peace. imho buy at 17 cents and poof the gains shorts made selling you stock at $7 have now evaporated with positive Phase III readout. Dr.Liau is trustworthy genius and she will win this war with cancer.
Hi biosectinvestor, I'd agree with you. Positive results from unblind will resolve financing issues. They actually have very low burn rate for a biotech about to have Phase III readout. Kite, Bluebird, Juno have 10 times their burn rate? Best, I still think NW is not a bad guy, think he got played too... btw I have 110% confidence in Dr.Liau so I am 110% positive of a positive statistically significant PFS and OS readout. IMHO Lack of common sense is amazing... Good to see you as always!
thanks abeta for all your work! Looks great, RK did mention that there were 305 patients randomized by August 2015. Best. the halt was middle of august so most likely there were even more patients enrolled by the end of august, possibly all 331 patients were enrolled by middle of Nov?
is that really true, idk he didn't have to invest as much capital as he did, a lot of others gave credibility to Phase V, AF, Frank Greer lawsuit , etc... He got scolded for interfering with the wolf pack hunt.. He got criticized by his own investors, he asked for an investigation to clear the air for everyone which I think is reasonable. That way a third party is there to say Phase V is a bunch of baloney but no report has come out as of yet?
If it was done quickly in three months as said by LP management the issue would of gone away... instead no investigation results and it has been close to two years. I don't think he was at fault if he did not know Katherine wolfe was a spy? She was a very bad one because she was so obvious. Oh well all water under the bridge, Neil Woodford seems to me a decent person with integrity, otherwise he would of never put his neck out to invest in NWBO. IMHO Surely he could buy the whole company now for under 50 Million and he has not done so. He could definitely try to takeover given the current share price???
BTW Mitchell Frazier his fund manager did say they could buy or sell at anytime and are not under any restrictions...
abc, really hope NeilWoodford is the bigger man and reaches out to help NWBO management again. They are a small company and paranoid with good reason due to all those attacks but they hopefully can see NW has held through massive meltdown of his investment and still has not complained or sued them for lack of response from an investigation that is still open after two years? Hope they can start fresh once positive data is presented. Best to all beings.
Hi abc, NW is professional, thoughtful, steady, forward thinker. I must say the difference between him and the Chardan Capital guy that Les is dealing with (brownies and Andrew Dice Clay) are literally worlds apart. I seriously hope they make amends and get Nwoodford back on board with management and the board of directors to bring NWBO to successful commercialization. He is in a different class and league. I hope LP and LG sees that and appreciate the contrast with dealing with him versus those US hedge funds that are out to get a pound of flesh and then some. (vultures imho) can't believe they are now suing to get more money...I hope Les has learned his lesson. (bait and switch)
cpa, maybe it's one of those signals they talk about? HaHaha
thanks abc, great interview with N.W. seems like that was his vision for NWBO before the Phase V attack and Ondra affair. Unfortunate but hopefully it will work out.
kab, idk about Argos technology but it does look like they had an IA too early for IO. over half their treatment and control patients are still alive (75% of 290 OS events=217) total trial of 462 patients. 217/462=.469 % They looked too early and have not reached their long tail if they have one? We are at 233/331=.70 % our long tail has been reached. Safe to say imho almost all our control patients have progressed and most all our control patients have passed... Argos does not look like they had a good trial designed timed to look properly at a IO trial and did not take DR.HOOS advice... I do applaud LP's decision to wait for the body of data to fully develop. We got 98 survivors of Ngbm, amen! As Dr.Bosch said you could be sitting here today! Wow and they are still here...
root, it's not necessarily a bad thing, you get to buy a multibillion dollar stock for 17 cents. It's a good thing sometimes when the MM are wrong and just holding a good stock down. Neil Woodford has not sold any of his shares and his investment strategy is holding for 5 years stocks that have potential to be multibillion dollar companies. imho markets can be bipolar
flip&barunuuk, Dr.Liau already told us 25% of ngbm patients should see 5 year survival. It is a blinded trial but she is far from stupid. She is using common sense. The survivors are living proof of the efficaciousness of DC-Vax... with or without crossover. imho LP should be using DR.Liau to her advantage. Dr.Liau should be doing all presentations period. SHE is THE PRINCIPLE INVESTIGATOR, DC-VAX IS HER VACCINE, SHE IS THE NEUROSURGEON, SHE IS THE EXPERT. SO SAD WHEN LP GOES UP TO PRESENT AND DESCRIBES DC-VAX AS THE SECRET SAUCE, OMG! She does not have the credentials to be accepted by a room full of clinical researchers and neurosurgeons! No disrespect to LP she is very competent smart lady but you got to know your audience.....
N.Woodford, sets up AZN and LP in conference and let's make a deal! Could happen! He is major stock holder in both and has access to both boards. market is so dense, thank god N.Woodford has common sense, he needs to be more proactive in his relations to management, especially since he has so much skin in the game.
good one forget statistics, common sense is good enough imho... can we just get some common sense here PLEASE!
three-foot, maybe you should tell his office DC-Vax has 100 alive patients as of June,2017 in a trial that has lasted over six years with 331 patients, 2:1 treatment to placebo, with no side effects other than slight fever. Risk taker that he is might be interested in DC-Vax and a CI would do the trick? Hope he is mesenchymal subtype... imho Thanks!
nice to see you doingmybest, always like your reasonable analysis. imho I don't worry about the hold because it was not a safety issue as stated by Dr.Bosch they have had 2100 injections with no SAE's and just the same as placebo's so that in itself is exceptional. Hold is lifted, old news let's move on. Data lock is imminent and most if not all have received their two year shots, so two year data is all but in for just last few patients in oct./nov. PFS is definitely predictive of OS imho so we are looking solid, especially since we are over 24 months from screening and 27 months from diagnosis with 98 hopefully alive patients..
BSB, could you please inform LP & LG of this! They are choosing to deal with US Hedge funds instead of European long only funds of Neil Woodford. We would be in better financial health if they choose to deal with NW, imho. So unfortunate the Ondra incident that was bad DD on both their parts.
Yes, just sad that he can't pick up the phone and just ask LP? With 98 alive patients she should be able to pick up the phone call him and say let's make another financing deal that gives NWBO reasonable valuation instead of letting Les get financing with Chardan capital who is suing them and Sabby Management at .14 cents a share. A bunch of big ego's don't make for good communication, patients and shareholders lose... time and money imho. oh well it what it is, hopefully it all works out soon.
Woodford funds - Investment Approach - Do we need to remind NW of his investment approach?
Understanding our investment approach is crucial in helping clients to decide whether investing with us would be right for them and the experience they can expect with Woodford.
An active strategy
We believe that being an active investor means doing something different from the market and adding value through the investment process.
We invest in the true sense of the word, buying stakes in businesses and helping them to fulfil their long-term potential. Every investment we buy, we buy on merit – we never invest in companies to make our portfolios look more like the index. We are happy for our performance to be compared to the market (and our portfolio activity and performance are fully disclosed on this website) but we are confident that we can better it over the long term by doing things differently. Our focus is on delivering an attractive positive return to our investors.
Company engagement
We are also active in our engagement with company management teams to help us understand the long-term aspirations of the company. We want to represent our investors’ best interests in our discussions with management teams and we engage with management to try to influence change where necessary. Successful investment requires a partnership between managers and owners.
Long-term focus
Our long-term approach to investment management is encapsulated in a patient capital investment style.
Equity markets take a random walk on a daily basis. The forces of fundamentals and valuation may be over-ridden by sentiment and the whim of the market in the short term, but it is the longer time periods that count. We look beyond the short-term noise and focus on the long-term drivers of share prices. We believe that by focusing on valuation and identifying companies that can deliver sustainable growth, today or in the future, we can deliver great long-term outcomes for our investors.
Our valuation lens
In essence, we view all companies through the same valuation lens, large or small, quoted or unquoted. We combine rigorous fundamental analysis of companies with our perspective of the economic variables that may impact them. This approach allows us to construct robust investment rationales. We focus on what matters: the long term and the fundamentals.
There are, of course, nuances to this process. With younger companies, we are typically looking to invest before a product or service has made it to the market. The strength of a company’s intellectual property and the research behind it is, therefore, crucial. In these cases, our investment due diligence has a particular focus on establishing a deep understanding of a company’s technology and patent estate, the scope of the long-term market opportunity and the motivations, ambition and alignment of management.
Detailed holistic analysis of all potential investments helps us to arrive at a considered and conservative judgement about value based on a longer-term investment time horizon (typically, for early-stage investments five to ten years but sometimes longer).
Absolute focus
We believe investors expect a return. We don’t think we’ve done a good job if a fund falls in value, even if the market has delivered an even worse outcome. Protecting our investors’ capital is key.
We cannot completely eliminate a temporary loss of capital in what is unarguably a volatile asset class, but we do our upmost to avoid a temporary loss of capital becoming a permanent one through the careful and disciplined consideration of the fundamentals. We focus on absolute risk and on delivering a positive return over the long term.
The team’s approach to risk in earlier-stage investments is necessarily different than for more established companies. Here, we aim to invest in businesses with the potential to become the FTSE 350 companies of the future – in practice, this means that over a period of three to five years we will look to invest tens of millions of pounds, building significant minority positions in businesses some which have the potential to become multi-billion dollar companies on a five-year view. In many instances, long-term outcomes for such businesses are binary so we have to tolerate the prospect of complete loss on a stock-specific basis, although our due diligence efforts are designed to minimise this risk. Capital preservation is achieved through diversification – by investing in a larger number of smaller positions and typically by increasing positions and portfolio weighting in companies only as they progress through key milestones and begin to de-risk.

Senti, N.Woodford is a globally admired fund manager, we should be asking him that question. LP and him should make amends. imho
IDK the market just hates them, I just hope that will change with a BP partnership and financial backing. I am sure LP will not give anything away. I just want the market to like her. She sort of reminds me of Hilary Clinton, very competent but no one likes her.
well KITE just got bought for 11.8 Billion dollars so I'd be ecstatic if she just gets one billion and royalties. Kite Cart therapy is only treating blood cancers. At least she will get to build out direct for solid tumors. N. Woodford is right the market loves expensive stocks and hates cheap stocks... We are in the wrong category at present. We need to get expensive and the the market will love us. imho
given their current financial state a partnership will be a godsend. They have DC-Vax Direct to focus on for future pipeline and investment. It would best if they get the vaccine to the patients ASAP. You are talking about being driven to bankruptcy on one hand versus getting a sure bet with a BP to take the vaccine to market in a timely manner with proper financing, marketing, and commercialization. They can't even answer their lawsuit mail currently, they are so short staffed.
good day, biosectinvestor, if data is excellent, which it will be, cat's out of the bag with 83 PFS and 100 survivors!
LP just has to not be greedy and partner with Merck, BMS, AZN??? that would get rid of all the shorts, wolfpack and get the vaccine to patients.. If she does it on her own there are lots of obstacles as you mentioned they will keep on shorting and keep pressure on financing. I rather her get the vaccine out to patients instead of sitting on it for years to get approval. She should go with the flow and partner with a BP she can work with. imho.. If I was Dr.Liau I would insist on this, she does not want her vaccine to get buried.
They can then pursue DcVax Direct at a faster pace and without distractors.
I believe it is Dr.Liau's and her team's trial, though Dr.Bosch may present findings, it is really Dr.Liau's achievement, research, blood sweat and tears... This is her life's work and hopefully it gets validated soon. Best to patients and investors. All this other stuff is just noise till the final data comes out. Management hopefully will rise to the occasion. Have faith. Thanks to all longs and their DD, much appreciated! AP and Baranuuk special thanks for sharing your work. Have a great Labor Day Weekend!
astavakra, good opinion, I agree. Dr. Bosch has little options to express his opinions without legal issues, they are just being slashed left and right by those who don't want their technology/company to succeed.
