Let's review what progress Drexler has made since running the ship. The quarter before Drexler took over the ship, MSLP reported $50.4m in sales. Since Drexler has taken over the ship, in the same quarter comparison, MSLP reported $32.8m in sales. Drexler has run the ship aground after reporting a -34.7% decline in sales in a direct YOY comparison.
Pardon me if I don't share your confidence in the captain.
Mr. Drexler clearly states he considers Quiksilver and Mr. McKnight not likely leaving the company a liability at a minimum, if not a full red flag, yet Mr. Drexler chose to purchase 3.5m shares of Quiksilver under the control of Mr. Mcknight as opposed to selling short Quiksilver or at the minimum take no position until Mr. McKnight departs. Mr. Drexler suffered significant losses on his long Quiksilver investment. What is to like about that decision?
It's akin to looking out your window to see a severe rainstorm and then deciding to wear your best suede footwear and sports jacket without the use of at the minimum an umbrella.
Mr. Drexler's decision is hard pressed to be described as brilliant either in 2014 or hindsight today.
Don't understand the reference to Serena, but MSLP sponsored Burroughs was handily behind 3-0 with 10 seconds remaining in match and was thoroughly dominated. The Russian gave up a meaningless takedown with seconds left as he celebrated early. Jordan Burroughs then was smoked in the losers bracket in his next match 4-1. Burroughs then cried all the way to locker room and refused to speak to reporters. There are photos of him crying and reports of his refusing to speak to reporters in dozens of media outlets including ESPN. Burroughs was the overwhelming gold medal favorite coming into games and went out 0-2 being dominated in both his matches. It was an underwhelming performance to say the least. Burroughs was undefeated for several years until signing with Musclepharm and has lost both matches with no wins since using and signing endorsement deal with the Denver based company.
Sad day as the Team Elevation curse reared its ugly head this morning. Five time World Champion and MusclePharm sponsored Team Elevation member Jordan Burroughs was handily defeated in the quarter finals by an upstart Russian. Unfortunately this means no medal for the overwhelming Olympic favorite. Probably the biggest upset in Olympic wrestling history. Jordan is decimated and ashamed and would like to apologize to his fans.
Jordan's surprising loss should in no way be blamed on his use of MusclePharm products. Jordan is flying home soon and will hopefully provide a statement on what he feels went wrong with his training and performance.
