Down another 3 cents today. Can't fight the trend. When the market reverses so will Odyssey.
Yes...that was the last one. There have been many over the past several months. I don't pay attention to the name of the poster, just recognize them from reading previously on Yahoo.
Quite often I see posts here that have been copied directly from a post on the Yahoo board. If the person who does this is not the same person under a different name, it would be nice to give credit to the original poster and not claim it as one's own.
Oddysey stock price has been getting hit with a double whammy these past few days...terrible down days for the stock market in general and no updates on anything from Odyssey.
Jeff K...Thank you so much for explaining what is going on with IE on the Yahoo board. I have been one affected.
Been going to Kitco for years. Even made some money buying into their silver pool.
I hope something happens this coming week because silence isn't proving to be 'golden'. Stockholders are getting antsy and the share price is showing it. Of course, Odyssey does have constraints about when any information can be released...but we can hope.
I agree, Yahoo board is very difficult to follow as well as all the others on Yahoo. I left as well, and hope that legitimate information continues here and does not deteriorate.
That was an excellent summary!
The continuing increase in the price of silver, and to a lesser extent gold, should prove very positive for ODYSSEY when the silver value of the cargo is set. When that will be is anybody's guess.
There are a few chickens that haven't hatched. It is still unknown whether there will be any gold brought in from the Victory and whether they will find or be able to bring up the other privately insured silver from the G. Still is unknown the quantity on the Mantola that will be brought up. So guaranteed or not we don't know how many 'chickens' there will be. :<)
Best not to count chickens before they're hatched. Or in this case silver/gold before it's brought in. Remember the Black Swan. This time they are being very cautious even though it's guaranteed.
The quarterly report came out today which wasn't good since it covered the time period prior to the exciting events transpiring now. That makes the runup all the more impressive!
The run-up of the past couple of days is very similiar to the one that came just before Seabed Worker returned with the first load of silver.
That conversation has been going on for days on the Yahoo board, without any resolution. Frankly, it's not possible to know until all the silver/gold/artifacts are in and then there will be some time sorting it all out. Even the estimates given have varied by millions!
There are others to be paid in addition to the UK government.
I think in part at least, it was related to a link that was posted on the Yahoo board. If you look at the second ship listed...it is the Seabed Worker. Scroll all the way to the right and it says "discharge project cargo". Make of it what you will.

Didn't you find it odd that he didn't identify which paper? He just made a vague comment about 'a British newspaper'. There is also no background information about him on SeekingAlpha.
Having to ride out a few rough days here, but in the end there will be victory. Hang on! This follow up article may explain some of the reasons for what's happening.

Seems just another example of inaccurate reporting. Overall it was a good article. I think we (shareholders) are just a bit antsy.
I noticed this statement in the Business Week article:
"Odyssey has just begun to recover the 80-pound silver bars from within the steel hull of the Gairsoppa."
I wonder whether this means they are actually in the process of bringing the silver bars up or they have just begun looking for them? Did the ship's manifest say the bars weighed 80 pounds?
Although the Victory will be a very interesting salvage project, it won't be the money maker that the other two to be worked on this year will be.
I see there is a whole new set of dreamers here since I left a few months ago.
I'm leaving again for an indefinite period. Bye all.
UMBRA...In spite of the fact that I've lost a bundle on this stock, I had to laugh at your post. Wish I had a dollar for ever time 'Fortnight' has been used on this board!
I haven't read this board in many months, but scanning the list, I see that many who have held for years are still here.
I think some of us should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for hanging on so long...in my case since 1990something. I can't even remember the exact year now, as I sold my original shares that were bought north of $4 when this was a remediation company.
Are any of you really hopeful for any upswing in the share price?
I don't blame you one bit for taking profits. Wish I had some to take here. Right now I'm in the hole. I did take profits on SLW and glad I did. Like you say, hopefully it will go higher in time.
DIRTDIGGER 75...I don't have the ability to private message here.
I did take a good look at GP's home page this morning and looked at several of the videos. I don't really see that this stock can be held down too much longer. Everything looks promising
( Southeast Michigan...recently moved back from AR. What a coincidence!)
It's great to be positive...but when are we going to start catching up with the silver train? I'm in the hole now.
I have come to that same conclusion! Another blunder I made last week was selling my Kitco silver pool account. If I had waited until today, I would have had another $2000.
I think I will tie you for the record of being terrible...LOL
I sold all my shares of SLW (but at a nice profit) and it has jumped about 2 dollars since then.
Average buy in for GPL is $4.20...so if it holds I'll be back in the green.
What do you mean new high? I bought several thousand shares last month at $4.75!
If it stays at least at $4.20, I will back at break-even as that is my average price. Then I can breathe easier again.
It is...wee (meaning little). Do you mean Whee? LOL
I think wee is the right word, but hopefully better this coming week.
Might this be the reason:
DJ Great Panther Silver To Sell 5M Shares At C$4.20 Each >GPR.T
(That's priced in Canadian dollars.)
So far, that news hasn't done anything for the stock price. Disappointing to see other miners up and GPl in the doldrums. Have to wonder why? (Now I see it's up .03.
Silver spot price this morning isn't looking good for stocks. May have to wait out a down period.
Yes, I know. I have a heavy exposure to the PM's so took quite a hit today. I bought more GPL yesterday but didn't get close enough to the low and then it went down more today. Too bad I don't have a crystal ball...I would have waited until today to buy more.
Well, I have to say, today's action was less than thrilling!
On the edge of my seat waiting to see whether we will continue the upward momentum tomorrow.
I missed the opportunity to add yesterday, not being home when GPL was at it's lowest, but I did add today at $3.91.
GP looks extremely promising! Just wish I had come across it when it was below $1.
NYbob...I notice you are moderating two separate boards for GPL. What is the reason for having two? This one seems to be the more active.
Put in an order to buy more last night, but it opened WAY ABOVE my bid price. Looks like I'll have to raise my bid :<)
