Tough break on the BRCM bubba
Oh well, can't win em all. I seriously considered buying SNDK a year or 2 ago. Not sure exactly how long ago but the price was in the low 20's. I never bought but had the nagging suspicion that I should have. So I've been watching it once in awhile just to see if my initial feeling that I should buy was correct. Obviously I missed the boat on SNDK but thats the way it goes. It's tough missing a big gainer (or taking a dive with a big loser) but thats part of the game I suppose.
Good luck with RNWK if you decide to buy (calls I assume). Hopefully they will have a positve conf call. All that cash is a nice cushion. Hopefully it doesn't burn a hole through managements pocekts.
Hey Sword, cool stuff, options that is
I've been interested in options for quite awhile but have yet to jump in. I'm actually just now starting to study short term trading and technical analysis (heaven help me!). I have previously relied on simple fundementals and estimated future prospects to try and find stocks for long term holding. Usually don't do super in depth or complicated analysis. Keep it pretty simple and try to find stocks with a good "story" (think: Peter Lynch "One Up on Wall Street").
Anyway, I picked up "Beginner's Guide to Short Term Trading" by Toni Turner at the library. Is she any good? Any other good books to recommend?
I'll keep options in mind but to me they seem to have an added element of risk because of the time factor. That is, once they expire that's it, you're done. Of course the pinkies seem extraordinarily dangerous too and some seem to have a way of fading to nothing.
Options.. Hmm.. Tempting but...
Not for me right now. I just bought some RNWK. Real Networks. They hope to make their money by selling music online. Raphsody.com site seems pretty nice. I think online music biz is going to be growing a lot over the next few years. Company is currently profitable. Plus they won a settlement from MS a couple months ago that is not showing on the books yet. $400 million cash outright and another $300 million coming. With the settlement I think book value is about $6 + per share (mostly cash). Or maybe it's $6 cash, minimal debt, and various other assets. Anyway, it currently sells for $8 and change. Maybe when the settlement funds show up on the balance sheet the stock will pop up on some screens. Of course if earnings disappoint then the price will follow.
Could'nt post on RB for months
Still can't. Finally sent them a message to see whats up. Do you think they'll figure out that my name really isn't Mr. Outlaw Beach and that I don't really live at 123 Fake Street, Fake Town, USA? Or maybe they don't care? Oh well, there are certainly worse things that can happen than not being able to post at RB.
Did a search for EVEN
Last message I found was Dec 16, 2005 from the jailhouse
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=8897765
Maybe he got pissed and took his leave
Hey guys
How's it goin? Glad to see you guys are still hanging out and posting here. I don't think I'll be playing the pennies again for quite awhile. It's so tempting to double your money on a tiny rise in price, but the pennies have been very unkind to me. Maybe if I ever get rich on "regular" stocks I'll have some play money. If I ever do play the pennies again, I'll be much more careful.
zero, my advice is...
AHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!
Run Run Away as Fast as you Can.
Don't touch this scam.
Despicable. Absolutely despicable.
Paul Taylor is a scum sucking piece of crap.
Serf, you may be on to something (eom)
"everyone new gets to see this is a POS"..."price will go nowhere"
What? Huh? Are you freakin crazy? It has been painfully obvious for many months now to anyone with an IQ over 75 that this stock/scam is a POS. Furthermore, it is also obvious that Paul Taylor is a vile peice of filth.
So Bloc, I guess you're trying to say that you don't know jack shit?
Dzyn, Last I knew Even was in jail
Speaking of EVEN..
What did he do to get thrown in the slammer? Jeez, give the guy a compliment and he goes and turns all criminal on me.
Holy Guacamole Serf!!!
I wonder how much of gain the poor guy who bought at the top needs. Probably a 10,000 bagger or more!
Correction: 2,500 times it's present value.
Still insurmountable. Be glad you got out with any money at all mberto.
mberto, let's put this in perspective
to recoup my original gamble the stock would have to increase in price by more than 25,000 times it's present value. Do you think this might happen anytime soon? I sure don't. So what I am sitting on is a complete loss. Warning other potential marks away from this scam is not stupid. The chances of the price increasing to anywhere near where I bought is almost nill and I wouldn't want to make my money at other peoples expense anyway when I know that this scam company is worth squat.
Hey Serf, It's pretty obvious that you are correct regarding a class action being out of the question for this company. I believe selfbrokers assertion that "millions" of dollars are being made off these scam companies may be slightly overstated. At least I hope he is wrong about that.
Now that I think about it, wouldn't a class action suit be limited to the corporate entity which perpetrated the fraud. Much better to go after the scum bag thief behind the corporate veil rather than go after the worthless corporation itself.
I hope Paul Taylor has a really crappy Christmas.
mmmm.. no mberto I can't see the pop
All I know is my initial investment from 10 months or so ago is now worth practically nothing and I have never seen any convincing evidence that there is actually a business being run here. Based on all I've seen it is absolutely clear to me that this so called company is nothing more than a scam. Be careful or you will end up with nothing like many others who have gambled on this stock.
I hear ya there Dzyn. eom
Dzyn, glad to see you are still here. I don't drop by to often but do like to catch up once in awhile. Ah the good old days... All the endless hours trying to track down the identity of Jon Miller. Trying to determine what exactly XRF Link is? Finding out about progress on contracts with Columbian companies? And who could forget the gobs of time and energy spent trying to find the elusive Crobuset company?
Did I say "good" old days? Somebody slap me! That was back when I was suckered into thinking that this so called company was anything more than a scam designed to remove money from the pockets of investors.
mberto, news coming? big pop? Good grief. Get real bert.
My 10 cents...
Although technically the value of my initial gamble on Tele is now worth less than a dime (before commission). But I digress..
Even is making a lot of sense. Anyone with a shred of common sense would do well to pay heed. If you want any chance of recouping losses, stopping Paul Taylor from scamming more people, or simply getting some form of redemption or revenge, then the points that Even has promoted in his last several posts make more sense than anything else I've seen here. Get a lawyer. Find the victims. Serve the perpetrator(s). Get started. Don't wait. Don't expect someone else to do it for you.
The question "Do you have a lawyer?" is about as innocuous as you can get. The answer to this question is in no way earthshattering. Refusing to answer with a simple yes or no is rather suspicious if you ask me. Even's assessment that stockefeller in all liklyhood does not have a lawyer is probably correct.
I have had serious doubts about Even in the past but the posts from the last couple days at least are pretty straight forward and seem genuine. Not knowing the exact identity of Even is a ridiculous reason for discounting his posts. I trust less, those that make a big show of divulging personal information and acting like a lack of personal information somehow negates words of common sense.
If you don't trust Even's choice of lawyer, or if Even fails to recomend one, then find one on your own. If I had a lawyer I would at least ask him or her if releasing the lawyers phone number is a good idea or if Evens other suggestions and observations are worthwhile or bogus. I would then post that information for the benefit of others on this board.
That's just my 10 cents. Do with it what you will.
Yes Chef, it is clear that you are delusional
All I am doing is posting my opinion, which if I'm not mistaken is the entire purpose of boards like this. I guess you don't like my opinion. So be it. This stock doesn't need bashers. They do a fine job of driving the price into the ground all by themselves. If it everturns out that I am wrong and it is not a scam but an actual honest company, then I will admit I was wrong.....
I am however, correct, and you know it.
Do you go out of your way to not make sense?
correction
My reference to "phantom short" positions in my previous posts was wrong. There are (or were) in fact short positions as evidenced by the SHO list. However, I believe it is much more likely that the short position belongs to Paul Taylor and his cronies than to some crazy Moldovian mobsters.
I am 99.9% certain that it's a scam
the proof is in the pudding so to speak. Irrational splits and name changes, phantom short positions, unverifiable PR's, non-existant companies, cut & paste PR's regarding other peoples technology... It all adds up to a big stinkin pile of crap.
And when you consider all the previous incarnations of this so called company. Well, you'd have to be blind to think that you've got a hold of something good here.
With 85 million in revenues and several large contracts, why not just run the business instead of playing games? Let common sense prevail. If it looks like a bunch of bull, then thats probably what it is.
That's it from me for now
You all have a great weekend and don't let anyone convince you to bet any money on NETCO, or voiplabs for that matter. In fact, it's probably best to stay away from pink sheet stocks in general. Pinkies have little to no oversight by the US government (the same government that responded to Katrina if you recall). This particular pinkie (NETCO formerly Telatinos) published numerous press releases that turned out to be, in my opinion, outright lies. One of those PR's promised audited financial statements which will probably never materialize. This so called company is no company at all but simply a scam designed to rob you of your money.
NETCO: Newtonian Elemental Trans-Cartesian Obfuscation
I don't know what in the hell they do, but it sure sounds complicated.
NETCO: Narcolepsy Enhancement Therapies to Cure Overstimulation
When you simply must get some rest immediately.
Hey Warren, I thought that might be you.
Maybe Euro just figured it out and was so pleased with himself that he decided to declare his brilliance to the world.
By the way, chef, there is nothing wrong with being warren, or euro for that matter.
We are all doomed to perish.
My vision is fine. There is nothing good about this stock. Counting on the perpetrators of the Telatinos fraud to turn over a new leaf and finally decide to actually run a business instead of a scam is not a good idea. If the PRs of multiple contracts and 85 million in revenue were true, then all that needed to be done was to fulfill the contracts and collect the money. Multiple name changes, ticker changes, reverse and forward splits, and sprining options are just a smoke screen and do nothing at all to help build the company. Such trickery is not required if there is in fact a real business.
Conclusion: There is no business. It's just a scam.
PS. I can't believe anyone believes this "company" has a chance of achieving anything positive. It is so completely obvious that there is no "company". It is just a scam. That's all it ever was. I can't fathom how anyone could think or say anything different.
NETCO: Neurological Electrostimulation To Commence Ovulation
Well, they are in the business of treating female infertility of course!
Yet another name/ticker change? Good grief!! eom
You're absolutely right Mr. Black
Most have recognized this as a scam for quite awhile now. Hopefully those who lost mucho deniro will follow your example and go after PT in court. Or even better, listen to Even and get the SEC involved. I'd love to see that limey maggot get squished but I don't have the time or resources to do too much. Plus I only bet a small amount of money on this farce so my motivation isn't as strong as some others. Still, nobody likes getting ripped off. Best of luck to you.
If this pretend company triples from here...
I might be able to cover my comission. Yey!!
You got that right Zam.
I am soooo glad I didn't buy this crap. Now if only I'd stayed away from Paul Taylor's other fake company pink sheet POS. I wonder how many of these scams he has going right now?
to do much else to do??
LOL. Guess I outta do little proof reading before posting. Oops.
Yea, Spink, that was the guy
I couldn't remember his name before and will likely forget it again before to long. I'd like to forget that I was dumb and greedy enough to gamble on this POS scam of a stock, but then again, if I forget there is a chance I could fall into another farce of an investment. So I guess I'll remember and learn from my mistakes. Don't have the time, money, or inclination to do much else to do at this point. Except of course to point out that whoever is currently buying this thing must be a total nutbag.
I can't cover my commission (eom)
