Nah, 3 tics is really nothing these days with the volatility of bonds. They already dropped (10 year) near 80 tics in one month! 4.47% down to 3.67% before recent rebound after Yen issue calmed.
Not sure if this is the results, but showed 30 year bond being around 4.3014% better than July

Results from the US 30 year treasury auction in the next hour. Could have an impact either way; 10 year auction yesterday did in the afternoon.
That's a great one. Thanks! 🤔

Breaking Down the Tech Giants’ AI Spending Surge
Alphabet, Amazon, Meta and Microsoft are placing ever-bigger bets on the artificial intelligence boom. Execs say they are just getting started. By Nate Rattner Aug. 3, 2024 10:00 am ET
(this is WSJ; shows the $$$ Billions that will continue to back growth in DC and AI....perfect storm for Lightwave's solution!)
Big technology companies deepened their commitments to artificial-intelligence efforts in the latest quarter, pouring billions of dollars into capital-spending projects and telling investors more is on the way.
In earnings statements over the past two weeks, Amazon.com, Microsoft MSFT -2.07%, Facebook parent Meta Platforms and Google parent Alphabet GOOGL -2.40% each reported jumps in purchases of property and equipment, a measure of capital spending. For all but Meta META the latest quarterly figure was the highest in years.
The companies don’t disclose the share of outlays going toward AI-related initiatives, but executives tied the spending surge to investments in infrastructure required for developing the technology, such as data centers, servers and real estate. On calls with analysts, they also said the spending is expected to pay off over a number of years, and that the current risk is in investing too little in AI, rather than too much.
ALPHABET
“When you go through a curve like this, the risk of underinvesting is dramatically greater than the risk of overinvesting.”
—Sundar Pichai
Chief Executive
July 23
ALPHABET
“Capex in the second quarter was...driven overwhelmingly by investment in our technical infrastructure, with the largest component for servers, followed by data centers.”
—Ruth Porat
Chief Financial Officer
July 23
MICROSOFT
“What we learned even from the cloud transition...was similar in the sense it was both a knowledge-intensive and a capital-intensive transition.”
—Satya Nadella
Chief Executive
July 30
MICROSOFT
“Cloud and AI-related spend represents nearly all of total capital expenditures. Within that, roughly half is for infrastructure needs...that will support monetization over the next 15 years and beyond.”
—Amy Hood
Chief Financial Officer
July 30
META
“At this point I'd rather risk building capacity before it is needed, rather than too late.”
—Mark Zuckerberg
Chief Executive
July 31
META
“We currently expect significant capex growth in 2025 as we invest to support our AI research and our product development efforts.”
—Susan Li
Chief Financial Officer
July 31
AMAZON
“While we're investing a significant amount in the AI space and in infrastructure, we would like to have more capacity than we already have today.”
—Andy Jassy
Chief Executive
Aug. 1
AMAZON
“We expect capital investments to be higher in the second half of the year...to support the growing need for AWS infrastructure as we continue to see strong demand in both generative AI and our non-generative AI workloads.”
—Brian Olsavsky
Chief Financial Officer
Aug. 1
This isn’t the first time Big Tech has ramped up spending in an effort to get ahead. Amazon AMZN -8.78% invested heavily in its delivery network to meet demand during the Covid-19 pandemic, for example, though the company has recently shifted its spending focus from retail warehouses to data-center infrastructure.
Some companies said their capital spending was higher when you add expenses beyond the purchases of property and equipment. For example, Microsoft said that, including finance leases, its capital expenditures totaled $19 billion in its most recently completed quarter.
While the AI frenzy has helped send market values soaring for some of the largest players in the space, the stocks have turned lower recently following the large gains.
Vix 29.39 Haven't seen that number since end of Sept to early Oct 2022. But today's % move up is extreme. I remember reading a while back that there were a number of traders that kept going short on Vix to collect nice ongoing gains. Guess today was a bit of a wake up call to close out their positions.

Wow, just 114k jobs, and Unemployment rises to 4.3% Not good....growth scare.
Bond yields crashing even lower. 10 year at 3.79% wow!
505 (200 dma exponential) and 499 (200 dma simple)
looks like your 531 is near the 100 dma. could happen today if jobs number weaker than 100-120k
Yikes, you live is a very vulnerable area! Good luck!
Flooding/storm surge and wildfires are the natural hazards that concern me in terms of where to live.
It is about their "outlook" not the past quarter. Live and learn.

Back below 5434 (50 dma, exponential) again, like last week.
MSFT earnings/outlook on Azure sales Gen AI will be a key area that will cause a pivot either way.
If you were a material science specialist (or just a well read person on this area) on polymers like Perkinamine, you would know that in general any type of materials have some amount of degradation over time (from oxygen or other chemical and/or physical ways). Have you ever heard of aircraft rivets, wings, engine turbines etc. made of high tech alloy materials, do age and break down over time? It is part of stresses, exposures, oxidations, etc. It is more a question of this "degradation" being reduced to industry standards, if not better! Dr. Lebby said he was "very confident" this area was not a concern.
The pending presentation did use these words too, which you forgot: " by encapsulating the EOP with a layer that is impermeable to molecular oxygen O2"
Do you know what "impermeable" means? (see below) Using ALD process from that company/patent they acquired is providing the engineering solution to keeping the slot modulator polymer protected from oxygen permeation (whatever % that means) and yielding a robust device package for their polymer modulator. 💯🚀 EOM
impermeable
adjective
impermeable
: not permitting passage (as of a fluid) through the material of which it is made
Isn't Lightwave presenting their ALD (atomic layer deposition) sealing of slot polymers process with results on how well it is keeping out oxygen from impacting the polymer over time?? I believe the presentation was at the end of July in Ontario, Canada technical forum. Can anyone look up past thread here, as I don't have premium membership. Thx!
Luther is this different than the other ones in place? Was there a $200 or 300 mil one that they could use Roth to broker? Haven't been following these too closely.. Thx

Thanks Aimless for that post. Mark L has some definite and very nearsighted, imo, (uninformed or voluntary ignorance from his existing business relationships) view on what Lightwave's polymers are about to create for the high data transmission modulators in the Gen AI industry. Maybe the NDAs are working like magic! 😉
I hope Lightwave's first major deal will break the ice (assuming it contains some powerful information on deal and partner(s)), but even if not, it will eventually become the preferred choice for the hyperscalers and other DC based on Dr. Lebby's presentations. From my limited knowledge, I can infer it is a very competitive and vicious environment. May Dr. Lebby and his skills, leadership, trust by the industry, Perk performance metrics, and expanded team with BOD additions forge ahead in a very deliberate and focused path as they have shown in the past 3 years that I have owned shares, and followed him. 🙏🚀
does 2020 not count? S&P500 was down 30+% in just 5 weeks I believe.
I rode the other two out as I kept dollar cost averaging over 30 years when employed. Seemed to have work out very well.
Not
Down to around the 200 dma seems very reasonable if the market is starting to realize that the heavy cap ex spending on AI may not provide as robust a market return in revenues in the near future. (current example Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL)
Would be a welcome thing to see some of these excesses being sold off, if this bull market is going to have any chance of legs later in 2024 and beyond.
Looks like that coil last hour collapsed.
5434 is the 50 dma (exponential). Just a point above it.
Nasdaq already crashed through its 50 dma.
Let's see if the Boyz's algos or the fearful traders exit the gates and close below it today.
Great comment on Yves LeMaitre, Dufi! While Dr. Lebby has not yet decided or found a replacement for Chairman of the Board, I am very pleased to see the quality of their new BOD addition, as an industry leader in the field that Lightwave Logic is directly going to serve! Mr. LeMaitre will strengthen the quality, timing and sustainability of Lightwave's growth curve imo. 💫🚀
Meanwhile Dr. Jill's former SS woman just resigned as SS Director. Turn on bloomberg if you want proof.
In the All-Data Revolution, Optical Solutions Advance Beyond PICs
With the modern AI workload intensifying, integrated photonics offers a promising solution with an eye toward the future of work.
YOSEF BEN-EZRA, NEWPHOTONICS
https://www.photonics.com/Articles/In_the_All-Data_Revolution_Optical_Solutions/a70003
Fascinating article which I learned about since I now get Photonics Spectra magazine "in the mail"! Must have signed up somewhere. I love this part near the end of article below. 100% Lightwave related!
The heart of PIC innovation
Integrated and silicon photonics have made significant contributions to the wider field of photonics and can be critically applied to the challenges ahead. Companies in the ecosystem are developing groundbreaking technologies such as high-speed optical transceivers, compact and energy-efficient photonic chips, and sophisticated sensing solutions. By leveraging their agility and creativity, early commercial entities are often able to bring these cutting-edge technologies to market faster than larger players who may also be more established in the marketplace.
At the same time, big industry is increasingly collaborative and eager to build on the agility and creativity of early innovators. This serves to push progress in a mutually beneficial ecosystem that is necessary to reach the full potential of all-optical integration. Meanwhile, others in the integrated photonics and silicon photonics space are applying rapid prototype, iterate, and novel technology approaches to this market, which is still in a phase of explosive development. Furthermore, companies are identifying still-unmet needs while simultaneously applying solution concepts that push the boundaries of what is possible.
******************
This is a very beneficial article to understand the ecosystem which Lightwave is working on, along with their own product/polymers.
Will yield to the experts KC, jeunke and others as to if Lightwave has working relationships with this company. Their name sounds very familiar. Thanks!
Lightwave TA objection 2, the 200 dma is getting near.
$4.19 for 200 dma (simple charting)
$4.21 for 200 dma (exponential charting) Let's call it $4.20 and see if she can bust through it today, or later this week. 💫🤞
Enjoy going down with your Captain Biden, and his ship. glub, glub, glub......
Everyone learns more information through their readings and mentors. And understanding the clear benefit economically of Trump's policies which have helped lift the wages of blue collar Americans of all colors, and to protect the boarder from open flow of people of unknown character/health risks/criminal records. ala Columbia for just one example releasing their prisoners.
Enjoy the experience on this message board. I don't have time to live here or much elsewhere on Ihub as I enjoy living life outside the ether bubble which consumes your personal time. Hahaha.
Ah, ok. Maybe Dr. Ruth W. but she just passed away unfortunately.
YOu seem to be fascinated with telling other posters about giving blowjobs or butt F&*ks to Trump.
Very interesting. I wonder what SIgmund Freud would say about your inner feelings being expressed here?. 🤔🥸
RELATED: The Democratic debate resurrected controversy over busing. But is it an issue today?
Harris prefaced her attack in the June 27, 2019, debate by telling Biden, "I do not believe you are a racist. I agree with you when you commit yourself to the importance of finding common ground."
Then she pivoted to the topic of his record on busing:
"It was actually hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country. It was not only that but you also worked with them to oppose busing. There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools. She was bused to school every day. That little girl was me."
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/aug/12/instagram-posts/harris-did-not-call-biden-racist-during-her-busing/
Doesn't take an Einstein or rocket scientist to understand her beliefs and feelings about Biden by her remarks above. She's a lawyer, and knows how to play the word game (but she's a pro at Word Salad games...OMG, tops the chart!)......and said instead "hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations.......2 US senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country.' Priceless!
There you go. He was naive and green. He has overcome his initial beliefs from 2 years ago, and now understands exactly the clear benefits of Donald J. Trumps policy and agenda to make America great again. It is good to see a young man learn from his initial misimpressions.
I've been treated like shit on this board, and get 0 thanks for any nutritional information I have provided. I've never seen such a polarized group of people. Thank God change is coming back to our country to take care of our people from cities to the rural communities, and defending us from China, N. Korea, Russia, Iran, and on and on.
LMAO! Kamala Harris called Biden a racist during her Democratic running mate campaign. 😂💯
Priceless!
Looks like the markets just got 100% Trumped from the weekend events.
