At this point I'm assuming there is no chance of news in relation to the conference today. It will be a rerun of the same tired presentation we have heard so many times before.
Too bad.
Now you're talking!! Hope things go as Longs suspect.
Does anyone really care about this? Seems like distracting drivel to me.
That would also require a pre market PR. I'm not necessarily expecting a MS bombshell, but something PR-worthy.
PR Monday pre market. Otherwise it is going to be a big letdown.
So since one of the themes for Monday is MS... looks like MTA must be going swimmingly.
My point was not that they are bound contractually to enter into some arrangement with AVXL, but rather that if they want to preserve themselves and protect against a juggernaut of a competitor they would by necessity have to do business with AVXL. Either that or their competition will... or AVXL itself will eclipse them within a few years just by going it alone.
Interesting facts:
1) The MTA is public knowledge. Anyone interested in doing business with AVXL knows that BIIB is testing their compound specifically for MS.
2) AVXL is participating in a conference on Monday in which they intend to talk about the future of their product in relation to MS.
3) Anyone interested in possibly doing business with AVXL will first want to know how the results of the MTA are looking.
4) It would be very embarrassing for AVXL when asked questions about the MTA if in fact the results were not good. Because of this, they would certainly not be bringing up MS at the conference on Monday unless the MTA results were good.
5) If the MTA results are good (and logic dictates that they are based on my first 4 points) BIIB will by necessity be obligated to enter into a deal of some kind with AVXL.
6) If BIIB enters into a deal with AVXL... well... all bets are off.
Is Missling attending that one?
Maybe he is doing the scheduled buys because there is an NDA in place concerning a deal to be announced soon?? Maybe he can't comment publicly right now.
His way of using a loophole communicating a message of "hang in there" to close followers.
Wherever/whatever they need to do. Just work out the deal.
It's like Schrödinger's cat... soon all of these other possibilities will collapse and all that will remain is the true reality...
2-73 works and will be approved for sale.
(IMO of course, pending "opening of the box")
I thought so too. 375 at a time (with the exception of the first week) and a total (so far) of 3750. Sounds very symmetrical.
Maybe that is the conclusion of the "countdown"???
Monday should be extremely interesting.
Yeah I saw that. Hessmess pointed it out earlier. Keeps with the same pattern as last week.
Check the "news" tab on ihub. It's there. Bought 375 shares today at $4.76.
Ahh. Doesn't make sense otherwise. I agree.
It's a fun speculation. Don't think we'll ever get a definitive answer on it though for the reason you stated.
One thing is for sure though...
ITS ABOUT TIME FOR SOMETHING GOOD TO HAPPEN FOR US LONGS!!!
May I ask, why would a CEO, who owns over 1,000,000 shares already, set up a purchasing plan to buy several lots of 375 shares over a period of several weeks?
He ain't selling! LOL!!
It's true, he had to set all this up before he had any insider info.
But...
He may have known at the time that he would shortly have insider info. He also knew when the conferences were coming up.
He now has the insider info he was waiting for IMO. Not only that, but he also knows what his pre-determined purchases are going to be. He can time his PR's to coincide with his purchases whichever way he wants.
You said:
"I saw earlier posts speculating it's some sort of "signal"...Yet in reality it's basically a just a stock purchase or sale plan for insiders."
You assert that it is a fact that there is no signal. Maybe your post was written ambiguously or in a way that allows for interpretation that was not intended?
Your facts about what kind of plan this is are completely correct. I think everyone here is very aware of these facts as well.
It is up to each investor to figure out whether or not it is a signal or not.
This is speculation on your part as well. You cannot know as a fact that the purchase plan was not created to act as a signal. That is your guess.
I just want to make sure visitors to this board aren't confused on that point.
It is a signal. That is the only possible logical conclusion. Indulge me for a minute...
If someone was a CEO who owns 1,006,625 shares. He decides to increase his position. Would it make any kind of sense to buy 375 shares at a time? That is comparable to someone who owns 10,000 shares making purchases of 3 shares at a time.
Not only is that ridiculous and meaningless, but it is also a hassle since he would have to file with the SEC every time he makes one of these tiny buys. Why not just make one larger purchase?
I say the only logical reason for all of the effort is so that it draws attention to the purchases.
Now... if he's obviously trying to draw attention to the purchases, the big question is: WHAT IS HIS MESSAGE? Not is there a message... but WHAT is the message?
I'd say that a "buy" can only mean a signal that it is time to buy. If he was trying to send a message about bad news... or trying to give hints that you should sell, I'd expect any logical person to "sell" as a signal.
I think most here are aware of this. What are you getting at though?
So... did Missling stop buying? Don't see anything yet.
Would that mean Monday is THE DAY?
If the amounts were large it could be misconstrued to mean he was adding significantly to his position.
He already owns over a million shares. By making the amounts so small it actually punctuates and draws attention to it more so than larger buys would.
There is absolutely no reason for Missling to be purchasing these insignificant amounts of stock just for the sake of buying shares.
The only purpose it could serve is to allow him to publicize the fact that he thinks it is a good time to buy.
Looking more and more like Monday's presentation will be a re-run of what we've already heard many times before. Only glimmer of hope is the mention of MS in the abstract, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Who knows though, maybe we'll get a nice surprise. Just starting to feel very familiar.
It is not going to sell for $300k/year/patient.
Yes. Reverse stock split came out AH.
I don't believe that this is a sale of shares. They are issuing shares to LP so that they have the shares in their inventory to sell at their discretion.
Could be simple housekeeping move that continues the flow of cash to fund day to day business. Or it could be loading up 5,000,000 shares to sell to a suitor. Or anything in between.
Maybe just securing funding for Rett??
I really hope so. Seems like the situation is ripe for just that!!
Does this crush for now the partner/licensing hope??
Interesting. Where are you finding that information?
I'd be happy to sell it to them for a very reasonable price.
NuroNova
At some point we will need a new name for marketing. It isn't going to be sold under the brand name "A2-73".
Monday pre-market PR?
I'd guess that if we don't see the PR tomorrow it won't come till Monday. Not sure they would want to "waste" a PR on a Friday.
