I have looked through literally every post on the II board to see if there was any passing reference to his broker - none sorry
I think it means - we will not be held to ransom by elliot - (unless they buy another 14% or so)
Ok Point taken
Hi Tamhas
Following the predictably and possibly deliberately disappointing interims, 375k shares were traded in Sweden on Friday. Virtually all of which which were below the 285SEK price.
I'm sure GE had their finger in that pie.
If for example half were buys and half were sells to GE they would have gained another 1% (nearly).
There is some chatter about some Swedish PIs withdrawing their acceptance and pressurising First AP to withdraw their acceptance too.
From my point of view - see Charlie's post earlier - if new engines will be cheaper to build, more efficient and cheaper to run, then Arcam is a snip at 285.
But as Pdb points out - GE have a duty to their shareholders to play hard ball and buy Arcam as cheaply as possible.
If in a couple of years Arcam ebm technology saves GE mant Billion $ per year then its got to be worth (AND WORTH TO THEM) $1B ie $50 per share or more
Volume Falling
Only 352 in US yesterday and only 7.33k so far in Sweden. Note: 55 cent rise on that small volume.
Those that are accepting 285 or thereabouts have done.
Those in entrenched positions are holding firm.
Are you watching GE ?

agree, the industrial revolution and GE with the bid declared and approved Arcam technology leader. The CEO spoke sooner about 10,000 of machines. Then about six months later, it suddenly ok with 285?
Rather it will drop to 150 back than that I sell for 285. I do not need this money from 3000 shares next 10 years.

Agree with everything in anhel ... let it drop to the 150
that rather than give away Arcam one of the world's largest companies for a pittance
Suspicious rise in SP in Sweden
Are GE upping the bid and those in the know told their mates ?
Sorry should have been addressed to flying trader not ace.
And I meant to finish with. ....
So do the board know something we don't?
Hi ace.
It's a great thought but I doubt it. Other bidders would not only have to convince shareholders who were not happy with the ge offer but ge themselves. With their imminent leap into 3d metal printing ge are unlikely to sell.
So all other bidders can achieve is a slice of the pie. So who would want a slice, how many of them are there and how big a slice would they want? Especially if ge have greater than 50%
A de facto consortium would/could arise .
I still think that the sp would be as high as this or higher if 2 or 3 really substantial orders had been placed rather than this IMO low offer.
The only risk for me is that the board said given the technology risk it's a good offer.
I'm totally with you on this issue Mr. T. This is a low bid price.
If GE had put in a very large order eg 50+ then the SP would probably be roughly where it is. Then 40% more would be somewhere handy to a reasonable price
GE must have known that their bid would probably fail to reach 90% support.
Why did they bid then?
If they have 10% then no-one else's bid will win and so GE can deal with Arcam like all other customers (and not be shut out). If they reach higher percentages as Charlie's post earlier then that gives them more clout and privileges.
So GE's bid is to protect their major move into 3D. It has already achieved that.
What do competitors do? They cannot buy the company (90%). The 66% to allow issue of shares or 50% to control the company would be (IMO) a stretch.
Buy 10% and at least have a hand on the steering wheel?
What should we private investors do?
a) sell and be happy
b) hold and wait for a sensible price
c) buy - it's bound to appreciate
From the current SP there is little downside (IMO) - b) every time
But be prepared to sell a few % at every jump, reducing risk
Mr Twenton
Obviously stealing Mr T's thunder but...........
Stockholm stock exchange rules require disclosure of holding changes eg breaking the 5% level, within 3 working days i.e. last Thursday - since then they may well have bought more.
Mr T reckons this is an attempt to block the GE bid and force a higher price.
The chap who came up with this fiendish plan is now my new best friend.

STOCKHOLM (AFX) Elliott Capital Advisors has increased its holding in Arcam to 1,365,268 shares, corresponding to 6.58 percent of capital and votes.
It seen in a disclosure statement with the transaction date on 7 september.
on september 6, GE bid for Arcam about 285 per share.
Yes you may well be right - but DNB seem to agree with me and even quoted 400SEK as a possibility. AND appear to be buying stock !
This is the sharp end of Arcam investing - some on the Avanza board seem to think a counter bid may well occur this week
Funny no. Fantastic yes.
However let's not count our chickens. One more would be good.
Also, I don't think that the board would be able to recommend the offer if the EU could veto it. So little downside IMO
Sad News
Investorhub123 passed away last month, which explains his absence.
For me and a couple of others, yesterday's news was tinged with sadness.
RIP John
99 %
99 Krona and 53% but hey who's arguing.
I think there will be a counter bid and 400 Krona is possible

Hi Nobahamas
For me the words "supply agreement for Arcam Q20plus systems" are key.
It says to me that this a multiple long term order - size as yet undefined.
Also with the "only announce multiple order" policy, this has to be a multiple order.
This is big news - met with total apathy.
Also shorts down by 25% between 14 and 29 April, sadly no leap in SP but you can't have everything!
