Here is what's circulating about right now.
23 lawmakers call on Trump to add $9.3B to 2018 budget to combat opioid epidemic:

As someone who was previously in cannabis stock and who knows this current party is pretty conservative (talk of putting down the Federal hammer on recreational cannabis). I can say that the current administration would be the one to put opioid anti-abuse research on the fast track. Whether that happens?
Time will tell but I like what I'm seeing here with Nasrat already back in the cockpit with trails on resolving the Tmax. I was thinking I'd hear this news in July.
One also has to wonder if from SequestOx onward if anti-abuse painkillers will be put on the fast track by the FDA (in regards to Elite's pipeline):

It has happened before, ABC NEWS:

Collegium Pharmaceuticals has received FDA fast-track status to develop two long-acting opioids incorporating its DETERx technology, which involves a "multi-particulate matrix formation in a capsule."

Cool, awesome. I am here often as you probably noted so I "ass"ummed everyone understood what I meant. The whole, "everyone knows what I meant" thing happened LoL!
Nothing. My friend was emphasizing it's all about the market. He said it's about the patients and what they want for themselves or family. PIII means nothing in perspective to that.
Oh shoot. No I'm not saying Phase III are not unimportant and neither is he.
In regards to PPS is what that was referencing. The market (i.e. the patients determine what they get). If they don't like it? It won't be insured but we both agree the logic is there for it to eventually push out even hydrocodone. I argued with him because I'm in genomics and bioinformatics specifically so all I care about is the data (as my natural base intuition). So I emphasized to him the CRL is a problem but we had good Phase III! That's where he jumped in and stated what I really need to be concerned on (to clarify).
Thanks, yeah my field in combination with the degree I have and the one I'm working on put me in the genomics field (bioinformatics to be specific). So I don't delve in pharmaceuticals to the extant that they obviously do. But I agree. Good things to come if one's willing to wait.
Okay so here's a breakdown of a conversation I had with a two good friends of mine since undergrad. school. We all went to the same community college together (MHCC) and then the same university together (Portland State University).
Now one is in his 3rd year in pharmacy school (OSU in Oregon). I debated with him and told him to tell me flat out what I should do (i.e. convince me on what action to take). In short, he said Phase III results are shit. He said it means nothing (we've known each other 10 years so conversation are as such - very honest). i.e. I trust him.
He said look at it as a longterm investment because right now the expensive painkiller is hydrocodone that is asked for. The patients determine what they get. The doctors and pharmacists have to listen.
SequestOX he said could push it out of the way in the long run as it's oxycodone formulation and both in their abuse forms cause many problems and are the most popular (for the good and the bad reasons). I just have to be patient is what I was told. His brother (in medical school down in Lebanon Oregon) agrees with him. We all originally started trading using Robinhood. They chase after oil tickers on NASDAQ and odd stocks like IPI. In other words, they consider me a risk taker but I told them. I'm single now and I might as well while in engineering LoL! Some of you have been here along time so I thought it worth starting to write down my thoughts and share.
In short, I sit long on penny stocks. Friend in med school day trades NASDAQ in the mornings, and my friend in pharmacy school is long on NASDAQ tickers now. I can afford this risk because:
http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/online-cs-students
So I can afford to dance around the penny stocks because I'm always at a PC (that I built with immensely capable capacities).
Overall, my thoughts are it really sucks what happened in August. It really does. Any problems going down the pipeline can end a pharmacy company. Only reason I have confidence in ELTP? They have generics to fund their ventures. Most pharmaceuticals don't and go belly up quick because they having nothing in the way of making money to generate revenue. ELTP has been around since 1984 (older than I am). There's confidence to be found there.
My 2 very long cents on this.
Oh there are buyout rumors floating around?! Where?
Well said. I think shakedowns are the toughest part about investing if you're a longterm investor. Someone warned me when I got into investing a year ago that the toughest part isn't buying or selling, but holding.
Personally I remain optimistic:

I believe this ticker is well worth the risk of a potential return it could bring. Good on you. I fully agree with your opinion!
Yeah the only thing I can think of why Kay is following through with these settlements is he wants to build up cash to:
Buy back shares as he's stated no R/S from here on out and then maybe put one more version update out for the software (as a personal guess) to make the company stellar from all angles.
And then sell the company. We're literally riding now to the gold pot at the end of the rainbow. He said he wants to sell and retire so many times in the interviews. We are set. I've owned both Mobiletrust and GuardedID for almost a year now (very happy and will be buying again!).
Edit: See post # 56657 (if anyone doubts I own).
It's surprising how little confidence people have here. We won a settlement against Microsoft. MICROSOFT. Followed by 3 version updates or so (I've lost count LoL!) to Mobiletrust and GuardedID. Also we're the number 1 selling product on Amazon for key encryption software.
This company is busy. All I see is $_$. I don't know what people are smoking these days. Certainly not Cuban!
Nope, look at the crash in August. Reddest day was Aug 27th at .1098 cents or so. Stop it now. ;-P
That is our resistance zone.
LoL!
This ticker is establishing another step. Been doing so since December 22nd. Nothing significant happens here till 1Q is released. Hold your horses. =P
Trying to create a base after a heads over shoulder pattern is what I see. You may be right but the fundamentals don't show anything further than this point.
I'm of the opinion it won't happen. Kay has stated he wants to sell the company. I see no reason for him to buy shares into this ticker.
That said, I do think a company purchasing this plus a few settlements being finished off, and the quarter financial being put out, may push this PPS well high. Not NASDAQ but the returns people want. I've been here since last Spring. Things are looking very promising imo.
Yes you have to be especially analytical with this and admit speculation is here. I remain positive because ELTP has cash. So it's not a question of them having the funds. It's more a matter if they have the fortitude.
Based on their meeting in December with the FDA they've been approved on the plans they have resolving the issues they face (i.e.taking care of SequestOx Tmax problem).
Who can measure human nature but it's seems the CEO and the company have the drive:
https://www.insiderfinancial.com/elite-pharmaceuticals-inc-otcmktseltp-just-reported-earnings-heres-our-take/119548/
Time will tell with this one but I believe the prospects are very good and this ticker is a diamond in the rough, as you say. :)
Emulsifier technology exists for the pharmaceutical industry. The technology is about 6 years old for what Elite needs. It'd readily resolve the issues ELTP is facing and I'm sure it's one of the solutions on the table!
The status of a company is never the same as the status of its chart. Period. Always. You're looking at a penny stock pharmaceutical. If you want gentle breezes and predictability go seek bonds or a savings account!
Yeah I feel like everyone's out to eat Santa's milk and cookies. It's like, come on! LoL!
I don't think people understand the significance of today. We're establishing another step. Every step before April 17th equals strength this company needs.
Anyone know where I can find the latest news on the settlements being discussed? Haven't looked at them in awhile.
A possible solution to the Tmax issue (6 years since its release).

Stockboy in response to your PM. Research emulsifiers.
I have patience. They've come to the crux of success or failure. Fix the Tmax issue on SequestOx? We've got a multi-million dollar pharmaceutical company (perhaps multi-billion if Nasrat can resist the other company offers away).
Don't fix SequestOx? We have a puny pharmaceutical company that gets swept away as a project for a pharmaceutical company with billions in exploratory research.
Like I said, I'm confident. My largest concern was passing Phase III. If the medication fails there then that means the entire chemical composition of the drug is a total farce. Didn't happen so I can safely put roots down here. Any failure here for me will be a fair loss.
Nvm then. =)
Morning,
How many smartphone models came out before the invention of the iPhone? The creator of the iPhone as since passed away. What percentage of the population still uses iPhones? It's a matter of perspective. I look where the ticker is. The greater the hurdles. The more I want to see failures before I get into a ticker, not less!
Eh, I'm of the opinion that this has to happen so badly for society that if Elite Pharmaceuticals fails? A larger company will pick up their project / ticker. Think of it this way (I know you've been here awhile but bare my boredom).
Cannabis pharmaceuticals such as GWPH will start to squeeze painkiller pharmaceuticals with no anti-abuse medication. I've seen how they throw tens, heck. Hundreds of millions to congress to stomp it to dust despite not competing directly for the same patients! He%%, beer companies are trying to squeeze cannabis!
In a year, they will start to look for a way to combat not just politically (suppressing the research - pieces of crap) but also competing. Human nature. It will always be there (well, till XNA takes over and we all become cyborgs - anyways!).
The real question isn't if this technology will happen. It's whether we've invested with relevance. I think ELTP will survive based on their dialogue with the FDA. Would I bet my life's savings on it? No. But I have taken money and invested to the level that it could have afforded me another car. Which I need.
Hit this post. I'm the author. PM me if you have any questions on there:

I am, for the reason that the ducks are lining up in a row. The NASDAQ and SP500, etc. are at record levels. Comparing gold to these on a chart show the story. In 2008 they were driven apart. Look at the difference now.
We have multiple cannabis stocks and pharmaceutical companies waiting to become the future.
NASDAQ reaps them.
OTC sows them.
Always.
Now, yes.
I have that opinion but I've been here since March or so. Granted, I do not have hundred of thousands of shares in this stock so I understand the nerves of others. I purchased at 28 / 29 cents with around 5,500 shares (I'm a college student).
I agree, this has to go to NASDAQ so all the big boys can play dice. The harder they rise. The harder they fall! I take it you're new?
It's just the way things are psychologically. Things have value because our minds say so.
Tesla that sold around 60,000 cars last year sitting at over $250 a share with an owner that had a space rocket blowup on him from his other company just a few months ago.
Money that's made of paper matched or compared to nothing.
Coins made of nothing (bitcoin).
The list goes on.
As long as it makes us feel that we're involved in innovation, that it works because we "helped", and we will just buy buy buy. It's never what's something is worth. That eludes to it being compared. Nobody does that for the new thing on the block. It's what something is valued at by our brains.

Why I believe Anti-abuse drugs will become the new medical standard of prescription medication.
Addiction:
Hahaha! Thanks, I bring some DD to the table. I'd not pat myself on the back for it really. Still yet to make a 10 bagger (I mean who's not kidding themselves thinking that for this ticker!).
Your concern is mine as well. I don't think Nasrat and management will leave that kind of exposure for long once things get moving. I see them paying to take care of that issue quickly. I'm confident this will happen based on his previous actions / history.
Take a look at GWPH. Companies follow momentum and emotion. Safeguard yourself by using the fundamentals and never assume the success of the company will ever match the success of the charts (or vice versa). Firms will drive this up very quickly. I've seen it happen. OWCP being a recent example.
Just wanted to say a many thanks Couch for your posting. I lurk on here a lot and it's great to see people that actually give a crap about a ticker. I don't understand the whiners. It's a penny stock. Expect major upswings and downswings!
I have yet to make a profit here but am seriously excited if SequestOx gets approved. I've seen your posts also on SeekingAlpha. Good stuff.
Personal opinion is we see dollars if it's approved. My confidence is very high because:
1) The FDA gave ELTP guidelines (so there is a path should they choose to follow - which they have).
2) The market is there and such a product is critically needed.
3) Opioid painkillers are not replaceable in certain circumstances relative to cannabis or other painkillers (friend in pharmacy school).
This is what I'm thinking too. I don't see Mark Kay taking the money he'd win and developing the products further or buying back shares. He's expressed wanting to sell and going to the golf course for some time (i.e. retire).
