Well that sucks...Gov, you will be missed...your patience all these years will be rewarded..or validated.
Thank you Bill as usual..

Good Morning..
Along with today's announcement on the upcoming presentation at MHSRS and including a quote from Dr. David Kessler:
The Antiviral Program for Pandemics aims to develop safe and effective antivirals to combat Covid-19, and will help develop antivirals against other viruses with pandemic potential, according to NIAID. Widespread availability of highly effective oral antiviral pills that can be taken at home could save lives and prevent surges in hospitalizations, according to the institute.
Biden administration to invest $3 billion for Covid-19 antiviral medicines

(CNN)The Biden administration on Thursday announced it would invest more than $3 billion from the American Rescue Plan to accelerate the discovery, development and manufacturing of Covid-19 antiviral medicines -- ideally like a pill someone could easily take at home early in an illness.
The administration will invest more than $300 million for research and lab support, nearly $1 billion for preclinical and clinical evaluation and nearly $700 million for development and manufacturing through NIAI
"An easily administered oral antiviral drug would be an important part of our therapeutic arsenal that would complement the great success of our vaccine efforts. Our Administration is going to harness the power of American ingenuity to spur the creation and development of these drugs that can save lives both here in the United States and around the world," Dr. David Kessler, chief science officer for the Biden administration's Covid-19 response, said in a statement.
Great source!...I know that's my "go to" site when it comes to science...
On a more positive (reality) note...Great call Dr Bones!...keep them coming..
Should be an eventful month..

Rational, logical thinking/comment...what a concept..
We could use more of that around here..
My hope (or one of them) is that Brilacidin can soon be available in India as well as other "hotspots"...we are all fortunate to live here in this country..
Stay smart, stay safe..
GLTA
Tucker Carlson, (and Fox) MTG and others would be proud of such reports...it's sad that such thinking (beliefs) will keep all of us from reaching the goal of Herd Immunity while variants continue to evolve..
Come on Leo,
#Brilacidin
Do you mean when a "Physician" like Rand Paul asks about mask wearing after receiving the vaccines?
The following from the CDC:
It depends. For now, fully vaccinated people can gather indoors without physical distancing or wearing masks with:
Other people who are fully vaccinated
Unvaccinated people from one other household, unless any of those people or anyone they live with has an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19
Until more is known, fully vaccinated people should continue to wear masks and stay 6 feet apart from other people in other settings, like when they are in public or visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households.
It is probably a good thing the seat belt debate happened back in the late 60's and not today...it would never pass...
IMO it's a shame "mask wearing" as well as other mitigating practices had to become so political...we are all in this together and should have each other's back...
Brilacidin will be greatly needed in the coming months (years)..

I'm a dog person myself, so I say, open the box...

Sorry Jhawk...that wasn't really meant for you...it was a group post after reading all the others this morning...I appreciate your posts and thought I said as much in the first sentence..
Nice posts Bizz from you, Jhawk and others...sometimes hard to understand where (or why) all the resistance comes from in regards to how serious this is...no matter where you stand the fact is that daily cases, ICU occupancy and deaths are rising...this was predicted of course...the days and weeks following Thanksgiving will show another level no doubt...followed by Christmas Holidays and more cases ect...until mass vaccinations from the two (so far) vaccines are administered which won’t be until late Q1 into Q2 all we have control over are our own behaviour and mitigation efforts...(we all know what those are)...IMO one of the biggest misunderstandings is that many of us are asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic and spreading inadvertently to friends and family...there will be many years of Holidays ahead for all us...maybe the smart thing is to take this years off....hopefully Brilacidin is the answer many of us believe it is..all the best...Mark
Well, today we had 160,00 new cases and 1700 deaths..Vaccines (for all of us) are months away...Brilacidin and other therapies are sorely needed and fast...otherwise, all we have is our own behavior... and we all know what that entails..
Some still say it's all hype...not sure who gains from this "hype"...I am doing my part but that's all any of us can control...ourselves. The election is over so there is no reason to politicize this Pandemic any longer.
GLTA...hopefully news for IPIX soon..probably from Europe first...IMO
This may have already been discussed but yesterday I read up on the mutation that is going around Europe...replicates 10 times faster and more efficient as well as more infectious...but also with a new "spike" which makes it more vulnerable...called D614G..
Sounds right up Brilacidin's alley..
Well that's why there is a review board and peer reviews done plus the 2 month pause...let's see how it all plays out before we "trash" a potential vaccine...
Hyping?? really TD?....1 million new cases in last 6 days and will be the trend going forward...until "something" changes...we all should take responsibility (which includes our outgoing President) to try and get this under control before it's too late (for many, it already is)..
IMO of course, and sorry all for the rant...
Brilacidin and other therapeutics are quickly needed...vaccine will not help much until Q2 2021
I’m always touched by how many “investors” take time from their busy schedules to steer the rest of us in the right direction...I guess I’ll get out Monday...
Of course!...it's a new era...an "all inclusive " era..probably will be an annual event and move around...
Sounds good...I'll have to work on my Brooklyn accent...yes it has been along time...I still remember "fist pumping" when CTIX hit 2.00 bucks for the first time...(sigh)
#Blueskies
OK it's official HT...you're paying for the "open bar" at our "party" next year...

C'mon Bizz..."we're rounding the corner!"...haven't you heard?
At face value it would seem to be a “No Brainer” for them to try to partner or buy Brilacidin...or be left behind...the positive is that it’s already approved...as you said...we will see soon enough...B is better earlier in the disease and maybe even prove out as a preventative...Remdesivir is not...

That article is about 10 days late...Remdesivir was approved by the FDA even with its limitations...most of us would agree Brilacidin is a better option and in combo together looks good...might be the case where they (Gilead) need us more than we need them..I’m sure the FDA has their own thoughts...GLTA
#129 for Remdesivir (SI)...shortens hospital stay from 15 to 10 days...also expensive...approx $3000 for a 5 day course..
Go get em Shazz...we're all with you...
Agreed...
Excellent recap and synopsis from the tests conducted at GMU KMBJM...
I was wondering as to the average time between a "pre-print" and a "peer reviewed" article?...hopefully some urgency there as this Pandemic is showing no signs in slowing down anytime soon...A successful therapeutic (or combo) may very well be more important than a vaccine...both are needed of course..

A company out of Australia (Starpharma) is developing an inhaler and recently received 1 m in funding..also testing against other respiratory viruses...one targeted group would be Doctors, Nurses and other front line workers...also could be effective in conjunction with a vaccine...

WOW....Bizz, it's exhausting (I find)...Nov 4th (or soon after) can not come fast enough...how about from Dr Birx?...she was the "Task Force" darling early on..I suspect her voice will get louder this weekend...
Dr. Birx slams the lack of mask usage in North Dakota, where Covid-19 is soaring
Great news today from GMU...429 SI compared to Gilead's Remdesivir's 129...
I just sent John Carroll 2 messages on his Twitter account...
Thank you BF, I read most of John's articles and it would be excellent to receive a review and recent results on his site..
I will contact John as well...
I watched the video and was impressed by Allison...I found her intelligent, dedicated and ambitious...
I would like to see Leo hire her as Ms Silverstein's Assistant..Allison could grow with the company and help oversee the clinical trials.

Awesome news today and Brilacidin's potential and range of application is nothing short of amazing..
The area and usage I keep thinking about is as a preventative or prophylactic..developed as an inhaler or similar.
From your post: An inhaled form of Brilacidin will be studied soon as a preventative treatment for high risk individuals at the initiation of symptoms.
My question (thoughts) is that once symptoms are present, which might mean the virus is also present, it no longer is a prophylactic?...unless safety issues might prevent this, could a potential inhaler be used prior to symptoms, especially with "at risk" individuals..maybe even 2-3 times a week?
I realize that Brilacidin is not being developed as a "vaccine" but, again, I keep going back to it being a "preventative"...and "ease of application"..
Thanks Farrell for all you do here and for your expertise and scientific level-headed approach.

Brilacidin can not come fast enough...let's go FDA...

Articles from: LIVESCIENCE
Great back to back posts from the both of you...thanks guys..
Agreed..another week gives Leo time to put together some incredible news and plans going forward....as well as all of the relevant news agencies a chance to digest...
Good article Bizz and precisely why the concept or notion of "herd immunity" is a ludicrous idea..
It is also the reason a therapeutic (like Brilacidin) will be needed for many years to come...
CORONAVIRUS NEWS
Key Takeaways
Experts say that COVID-19 will likely become endemic, meaning it will circulate forever.
A vaccine likely won’t provide full or permanent immunity, but it will still be a good tool for gaining control of the pandemic and potentially lessening the severity of the symptoms that it causes.
We will need to continue our face mask-wearing, handwashing, and social distancing efforts until the pandemic is under control.
Pre-print article from RBL(s) should be out next couple weeks as well as announcement of clinical trials in US and European hospitals...
Stay safe friends..
Well BiZZ if I'm going to do an End Zone dance I will need some of Dane's and Kelts scotch...or I'll just take pictures..
