Or perhaps we are going by when he was diagnosed again (which if you read it carefully I said 16 months into a 6 month life expectancy). In either case, I was sharing a personal story...I don't feel the need to explain myself.
Thanks
Funny you should ask that.
I made a comment about his IV and how much I hate needles and he is a better man than I am for it...and he said "and the blood work every 2 weeks is annoying as hell".
Full disclosure that he is French and my French is horrible but my wife is a pretty darn good translator. So I did not ask as many questions as I should have or could have because she gets annoyed after a while lol
BTW...September 22nd is his 17th month anniversary.
Greetings to you too! Hopefully its not as hot in Austria as it is here today! Hopefully the last hot day of the year lol
Had an amazing lunch today with the wife's family in Crosne. Met a Cousin who is being treated for Lung Cancer and is now 16 months into his "6 months to live" timeframe and was strong enough to help lay bricks for my in-law's walkway in their garden. Science sure has come a long way.
Thankful for such scientists as Dr. Thorpe and those of his ilk...who have spent a lifetime battling a disease for the betterment of mankind.
Thanks for the clarification. I know something small that is exciting...but I don't want to jeopardize the trial nor inject any biases...especially here lol And I can't find out details without contacting him in person.
I will leave it alone! Thank you!
Roger...thanks for the reply. Sometimes things are tempting lol
Good Friday Everyone.
A rumor that needs substantiating...does anyone know if there is a BAVI trial in the Bretange region in France here that began around May/June of last year? I think I might have some information and a source. Would it hurt to contact him for more info? Would they censor him if they found out he was giving out info?
Are there other Lung Cancer trials going on that anyone is aware of? Any thoughts or direction would be much helpful.
1.30 pre-market now.
A little Calico blurb on Wired.com.

Has anyone tried to contact IR and find out what they were thinking last Friday? lol I would be curious to know.
These are the days I wish I had some extra damn money laying around. Oh well. Hopefully this is the last dip we see!
Good luck to all!
Agreed about the Y/B data coming out very soon...as well as the Avid expansion opening.
BTW...I still agree with you about the June 1st look in. I have done 12 simulations based on Exwannabe, Golfho, CP, and Paladin's numbers and explanations. I averaged out all 12 simulations and still get a 7/10 MOS first look in in June with a Sept 2nd look in...a 7/12 MOS first look in July and second in October...and finally a 7/15 MOS first look in at the End of August with a second look in close to December.
But who knows...its all just freaking guesswork to pass the time until something catastrophically good OR bad happens. Still feel it will be the first.
I understand that...but go back and look at the historical volume for the last three months. Weird.
Does anyone else find it highly suspect that over the last few days AH has been 3,2,1,...and the day after 1...all the volume is gone?
I'm more interested in this one:

Maybe MD...maybe.

GILD may have recently met with Peregrine board second hand info but an honest reliable long which represents a large holding
The only way that King is out is if there is an agreement to sell PPHM to a big pharma. It might explain why IR has been silent for so long. And the end of the week could mean a Monday PR for it. But who knows at this point. Pretty much everything is conjecture.
Maybe MD was right about GILD.
I have tried like 20 scenarios with look in's happening in May of this year to January of next. So basically I have given up.
The only satisfaction I get from giving up my predictions is the thought of all those shorts eating it when Bavi gets halted and approved.
I must admit it puts a smile on my face thinking of their "oh crap" moment.
Well for one they have product to sell or are further along the development stage. It "ain't" rocket science. It always amazes me when people complain and moan about SP price for a biotech over the years when it takes years to come to fruition.
When (not if) Bavi is secured and marketed...we will be like GILD, BIIB, etc. And PPHM will more opportunities and funds to develop more and better drug systems for the future.
BTW...I didn't post the message for the time from inception of PPHM. I posted it in response to today's changes. I am not easily frustrated or confused by word vomit or by silly comparisons that are meant to make others seem ignorant.
You all realize its not just limited to PPHM right? Almost all the biotechs are down 2-6% today. Even the new darling EXEL is down today.
Agreed. Hence the enthusiasm at the CC.
So call me insane...but what if the 1st look in took place at the beginning of July...showed a statistical advantage that was given an early stoppage recommendation...and we were asked by a potential buyer or partner to hold off PR'ing it until negotiations were concluded as soon as possible? is that even remotely feasible? I know it's a huge leap...but something about this CC...the giddiness and excitement of the players...that has got me seriously intrigued.
Ahhh. Roger that. It makes more sense. Thanks for the info!
Anyone else intrigued by the volume for PPHMP?
Strange...institutional buys?
All I know is that I am going to stop watching the daily SP and just enjoy my Christmas surprise when I log in and see where we are at!
So a little info that I can finally help with. I am currently an expat living in Paris. Over the last few days Sanofi has changed its business model to help push its revenue higher. The rumor going around here is that they are looking for late phase 3 oncology drugs to partner with to help round our their oncology list...specifically immunity boosting platforms. Apparently they are late to the party and want to skip over the development phase to compete with BMY.
I will keep my ears open. Unfortunately I have to rely on my wife for the translations and she doesn't much care for IT and business conversations at parties lol
She's French. Enough said lol
Good evening from across the pond!
Does anyone else have a sneaking suspicion we are going to see some kind of PR on Monday before the CC?
Those who are worried about Greece...don't. It will be a non-issue. The EU won't let them go...even if they should. I prefer the german view of telling the Greeks to "go pound sand". But judging from the news over here in France...they will cave and capitulate to the Greeks. Sad but true.
Question on possible first look in. After many mathematical models and changes in assumption...I have decided to simplify it and go with something simple.
In order to get to the allotted amount of patients by the end of this year, we would have had to post an average of 24 patients a month. If we assume only 2 patients posted in January 2014, 4 in Feb, 8 in March, 12 in April, and finally the full 24 in May...this would put us at the possible number of 192 patients that need to event around October 2014. Does that sound remotely correct?
If so, and no first look in until July of 2015 so far...that would mean the average eventing would be roughly 5 months for control arm, and almost 12 months for Bavi.
Obviously these are just overall averages and things are obviously changing every month. And potentially some patients in the control arm would event at various times...as well as the Bavi arm...But an average has SOME merit...right?
Any thoughts would be welcome. Its too damn hot here in France right now and I need to stop thinking so much lol
Hope you are all having a Happy Independence Day back stateside! Remember you are free because of the brave.

Grrr lol
So I am not a pro by any means...just an old soldier and a newish IT professional. I don't profess to know anything when it comes to investing or even biotechs in general. lol So apply salt liberally to my opinion.
I invest in these kinds of biotechs solely because I believe in small companies with insanely intelligent men and women with more talent than I will ever realize...being more agile and flexible than a big BP. I actually worked on IT projects back in Kalamazoo for Pfizer and I am still amazed they can do anything remarkable with all the bureaucracy(and I used to work for the government) lol.
I also understand as anyone with common sense...that these things take time. So what its been 15 years. That common. Any idiot that tells you that you will make millions on a small biotech in a year is both a fool and a swindler. I love listening to people bemoan the lack of PPS over a small company fighting not only cancer...not only the big BP's...not only sabotage (even lightly incompetence beyond measure)...not to mention its own shareholder and bashers. DO you even understand how the War is won? It's won one damned inch at a time...never giving up. Taking away the enemy's will to fight...and then stand up like a boss when its done.
So I will hold and buy my shares as I can with my measly checks. I am only in 4,000 shares...but I increase every damn week. Just knowing that I am a part of history...where we can finally eliminate cancer in my lifetime...is damn good enough for me to wait and be patient. I have faith in the goodness of men and women in science...who just want to make a difference and save lives. That is where my money is going.
Good luck to you all.

...which means they have the information in their hands as we speak...hence another reason for their excitement in their PR's to push new trials. Just my humble analytical analysis.
According to my math...33% look in should have ended between May24 and Jun2. That being said the 50% lookin averages out to October13 through Nov.1.
So in all reality...the first look in has already taken place.
They were taken down yesterday evening, May 31st.
