Summary
The company reported strong preliminary Q3 numbers with revenues easily surpassing analyst consensus estimates.
A division of Goldman Sachs recently injected another $20 million in liquidity at a lowered interest rate to further grow the company's rental business.
Management has been trying to rebrand the company as an emerging "Energy-as-a-Service" provider with considerable exposure to the thriving hydrogen space.
Despite the recent rally, valuation remains at a tiny fraction of stationary fuel cell power plant providers like Bloom Energy and FuelCell Energy.
Expect the rally to have more legs as the company appears to be on the verge of becoming another "story stock" for the insatiable ESG crowd. Get long with a short-term price target of $20.
Note: I have covered Capstone Turbine (NASDAQ:CPST) previously, so investors should view this as an update to my earlier articles on the company.
Another drop in the Short Interest......wonder why?

Supervalue....lets get over six dollars soon. When the Institutional investors start nibbling and the analyst upgrade their opinions, the stock price will increase toward the eight dollars you predicted. I see this morning that the one analyst who had a price target of $3.50 raised his target price. The average is in the higher $5 area and the highest is $8. Hold and Buy are the rec's. let's do some D.D. I.I.
Supervalue.....Looks like you were spot on. $5.00 is looking near term. How the call plays out and how the market mavens play this is the question. Will forward guidance and the information released entice the "big boys" to enter positions? $5.00 is the min. threshold for considering a position. Either case, I am loaded for the long term. This is the transition year for Capstone. Next fiscal year will either bring $10 a share or a takeover merger or buyout. The takeover provisions come into play and D.J. will not let us go cheap because of the loss carry over numbers. JMHO

Spin-off of Siemens Energy approved by large majority of Siemens shareholders
As expected, a large majority of Siemens shareholders at today’s Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting voted to approve the spin-off of the company’s energy business to Siemens Energy AG. This step paves the way for the establishment of an independent company rigorously focused on the energy sector. In the future,
Go read the article. It is possible they would be interested in Capstone after the split. Just my humble opinion.

Capstone's price rise got rid of the naysayers. Four dollars is in sight. I think a merger, joint venture or buyout is in the works. Today is the day. Number ten that is. Capstone closes over $1.00 and the shorts lost their battle to destroy this company and cover at bankruptcy.
I wonder what "Hopester" thinks this morning? NASDAQ compliance notification "maybe" will put a floor of one dollar under this stock. What will the upcoming earnings release disclose? Will the BOD still enact the reverse split? Will the "truck test" with the Capstone turbine come to anything?
Are further upgrades pending? Is it time to load up? What is your opinion?
Didn't we have a one for twenty reverse split???
6,000 divided by 20 would equal 300 shares if my math is correct. How come you have 600 shares? I know how many shares I have.
Also another one for twenty would leave you with more than six. LOL
Thanks Wild-bill, So Capstone may again use the ATM starting some time in Sept. That is going to stall any advance. I'm looking and hoping for over $2.00 before they start raping the shareholders again. Be nice to see the financing program get a start and maybe one of those "big" orders come in. Thanks again.
Wild-bill, can you elaborate a little on the warrants?
I read your post yesterday and I found your comments on the warrants that can be exercised in Sept.interesting. Can you supply some information on how long they have to exercise them, and the beginning date along with how many there are? What do you think the chances, (they...the holders) bots and market makers will run this up by the strike date to exercise them? Why would not everyone buy at these cheap prices to get some nice trading profits in such a short period of time? Are you loading up? By the way, what happened to the Capt.? Thanks for your help. You are appreciated.
Go Figure..this order was pre-anounced at the last earnings release. It is only for a little less than a half million dollars and it creates this kind of vol. and action??? Is this a runup by those in control to soon short this down again from a higher price? What do you think? tia
Good call Wild-Bill, Bulkowski said take the gift and run.
I did. Now watch it drift downward. I expect those that were lucky to have bought above $1.06 will be taking their profits before the end of the week. Lack of vol. so far is interesting. I will be glad to hear your opinion on it and other things. TIA
LOL Interesting day so far. manipulators in a jamb? looks like the orchestrated walkdown ran into a little resistance this morning when they ran into too many buy orders to overcome as the walkdown stalled... Lets see if the ATM and shorting continues later and to the close today. I would not be surprised if some of the old pumpers return. Will we get the "W" double bottom this week? What if Capstone comes out with a nice lease contract news or a BPC order? LOL
Next earnings release is way out there around June 8th or so. Remember, results are not expected until 75 days or less from the end of the fourth quarter which also includes the end of the year results. We will be about 75% or more into the first quarter of next fiscal year when we get any meaningful news. With managements abandonment of the "Ask Management" link and them showing total disregard for shareholder questions, stockholders are left in the dark. You can bet the analysts have access to information when they call in. I bet they don't get a recording. I wonder how many shareholders are going to wise up and finally vote this board of directors and management team out this year. This may be the last chance to do so. It is apparent the stock price is held up and controlled today. If the shorts wanted, they could pile on and short this back down to test the lows which I still believe will happen in the next few months. I got cash available but when the time of the stock market capitulation comes, there will be other better buys than Capstone. 15,000 DOW will soon come. How far down into the 13,000 area will we end up? With oil being this cheap, Wrightspeed can just forget about selling their product. I don't see how they can survive. This pending recession isn't going to help. Without forthright honest disclosure by Capstone, I am reconsidering any additional accumulation. It is way past time for management change at Capstone. jmho
Good luck to you WildBill, I think you are a little early. With Anadarko cutting its capx 50% and "Cheapskate Oil" possibly filing chapter 11, I think that oil industry sales by Cappy are still going to be slow for a long time. I am looking for lower entry points for a flip. I may try to flip some blue chips for a hundred here and there. Best to you. I appreciate your input on this board. Wonder when the Capt. will be back trading and promoting?
Wildbill, I agree with your opinion about D.J. He can not acknowledge his shortcomings. I want to hear what he has to say about the ATM and how much dilution he has done and how much cash is on hand. I voted for the board's rejection last year and will do it again if we get another chance if there is another annual meeting. Remember the "pump jack" that was almost ready to go? He never updates his promises or projections ever. The guy, in my opinion, does not have the credentials to run this type of company. I think he is way over his head. Just my opinion based on the track record so far. Why didn't the shareholders get a chance to vote on the takeover or merger interest that he recently spoke about? The board does not have our best interest at hand in my opinion. I wish the analyst would start asking some real important questions instead of going easy every quarter. JMHO
Is this a dead board or what?
Anyway, it will be interesting to see how much the "shares outstanding" and "float" has changed since the reverse split. One thing Jamison has done is abandon the "Ask Management" section on the website. The last question ans. was on Aug 30th. He once said he would update every three months. With no investor relations personnel to contact, all contact with the owners of this company has been thwarted. I'm surprised nothing has leaked so far today with Wells Fargo and the market makers in the know concerning earnings results. We will see how this trades as the day goes on. I think another disappointment is coming, but forward guidance may save the day. A forty cent loss is my guess, and a test of the lows. Anyone out there got a guess??? tia
Institutional Holdings data is outdated and will not be updated fully until Feb. 15th. Most of the reporting dates are as of 9-30-2015. That is old data and the poster did not produce any verifiable information to show that institutions are still selling since the 09-30-2015 date. They may be but in the near term, new figures will start appearing showing the still old date (as of 12-31-2015) Just as short interest real time is hidden and disclosed two times a month, institutional holdings is updated 45 days after the close of the quarter. It gives the short sellers and institutional holders an advantage by their own stock market rules set up a long time ago. If the stock drops (which I believe it may) after the earnings report, I will be looking for a re-test of the lows which may be the opportunity to enter for a trade. Each to his own. Forward guidance, earnings and revenue revisions may move this stock again in the near term. Best to all.
Shook my magic eight ball twice and I think we will close unchanged. I took into consideration this is the final day of this short interest period and since it rose last time, I think the trend is a little higher (short interest)again. I think those that can know (the numbers) already made their plans for Monday and Tuesday. I think this will be shorted down again and we re-test the low area. JMHO and what do I know? nothing.....
Wild Bill, Why would Capstone hit the ATM at this point in time when earnings is only five more days away? If Capstone was to produce some "good news" such as meeting or beating expectations, revealing some important sales developments etc. etc, would it not be better to "hit the ATM" after the quarter results? What I am thinking is, will we retest the lows again because they are hitting the ATM prior to the earnings release. Your thoughts please. tia

wild Bill, Thanks for your thoughts. I think any real important news will be held until after the first of the year because it will make a larger impact than if if was released before the close of this quarter. JMHO All the players will be back from their holiday vacations and may possibly move the stock at that time if the news is favorable. On the other hand, a negative announcement like we received at the beginning of this quarter will again impact the stock again. I look for them meeting or beating the analyst expectations.
What will today's short report indicate?
Will today's 4:00 P.M. report show covering to close out some institutional short positions prior to the end of this calendar year? Will the market makers slow down on the naked shorting? Is tax loss selling about over? Will the beginning of the new year bring about the same ole, same old manipulation? Will D.J. pre-announce again? Is Capstone due for a nice bounce after the new year? maybe....Did Capstone ship and collect on all that product left on the shipping dock at the end of last quarter? what is left at the end of this quarter? Will Capstone meet or beat the average earnings projections by the analysts for once? stay tuned.
I'm thinking that post split they will be changed to reflect the R/S. Also think what happens if the 30 million dollar order that DJ talked about that is awaiting financing and how it will impact the earnings and analyst projections. I think that would be the largest order ever. It ain't over til the fat lady sings and she isn't even in the building yet. When this shakes out, someone is going to be trading and making some nice money. jmho
Revenue estimates and earnings projections have changed. Just looking at TDAmeritrade and the Yahoo site. Also I wonder who got canned, DJ said four members of his inner circle were dismissed. Richard Lewis, Jammie Brooks??? or who else may be the victims along with the other 29 members of the team? Analysts got about 30 million projected with about a one cent loss as I can see. Was that 30 million in revenue that brings about EBITDA? Eventually any real profit that Capstone makes will go to the bottom line due to their accumulated losses over the years. The key to this quarter is how Capstone comes in with the gross margins as it appears with the delayed shipments from last quarter, with continued FPP revenue and normal sales this quarter, may bring interesting results. The analysts estimates are better than I expected. JMHO
Interesting article. How did Moonman miss this?
"Say Goodbye to Solar Power Subsidies
The U.S. is following some European countries by cutting back on tax credits for wind and solar."
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-11-05/say-goodbye-to-solar-power-subsidies?cmpid=yhoo.headline
In 2016 the U.S. will learn if renewable energy can survive without government support. The most significant tax credit for solar power will expire at the end of 2016, and the biggest one for wind already has. These federal subsidies have provided wind and solar developers with as much as $24 billion from 2008 to 2014, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. That’s led to a 12-fold increase in installed capacity over the past decade, helping lower costs at least 10 percent each year.
Combined, wind and solar still generate less than 5 percent of electricity in the U.S. The subsidy cuts come as both industries face stiffer competition from ultracheap coal and natural gas.
In reducing government backing, the U.S. is following Europe’s example. After years of generous renewable subsidies, Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic have cut back recently. In January the U.K. plans to slash subsidies for rooftop solar panels by 87 percent.
Seems Jamison's comments reflected this when he talked about Germany and the other European countries now installing more Capstone products.
One more thing...You know Cowen and company will sell those Capstone new issue shares to the shorts via. a pre-arranged deal and negate any possibility of a short squeeze or upward pressure. (my opinion only) Capstone gets about eight million to replenish the losses the management squandered and we go on. How many times will they hit the "ATM" before the promised "break even" is a reality? Wells Fargo now has control of almost if not all the equity. What did this management and BOD do to the shareholders?
The board approved the one for twenty on Oct 1st. So look at the vol. since then and think maybe that was some shorts covering? how come we didn't know on that date like the institutions did? Well after the reverse split there will only be less than two million short shares. Will they cover and flip to the bright side if in about 6-8 months if we do in fact hit break even? Darren said the board was again to meet. Will they announce it then and set the date after a close? So now Darren only owns about 50,000 shares. LOL Maybe that is why they are now taking stock instead of bonus cash? lol If the institutions start getting back in, look for upside potential. Remember I said they will announce news after the split takes place. The new product is a start. What about the pump jack they were supposed to bring out? If this drops tomorrow, some will be buying and some will be covering. Start the action. LOL
One for twenty reverse split to be soon enacted.
The following is taken from the 10-Q.
The board of directors approved the reverse split on Oct. 1st. Read the report. I was not able to copy and paste it from the 10.Q
So with 335 million shares outstanding, that takes us to 16.75 million shares. Add in the ATM sales and we will be back to 20 million plus soon. Then the fun begins with the trading. Maybe options also???????
HI Wild Bill, what do you think the 4:00 P.M. short report will show this evening? 31,800,000 and only eight more trading days until the already factored in revenue deficient quarter results are released.
What is your estimate on the ratio for the pending reverse split? I was thinking one for twenty, but now considering institutions usually require about 40 million shares outstanding to maintain a position, a one for ten seems more plausible. A stock issuance by Capstone to raise funds would put that number in the ball park. Also what is your revenue estimate? Anyone else care to chime in? tia
