Hence determined by supply and demand!!!????? I think...... it's late. gg4
tzebedee, you crack me up, it's late and I'm still trying to understand your post??
tpg, I'll do my best. Simply put The "bid" price is the highest price a buyer is willing to pay for a stock. It is referred to as the "bid". In the bid-ask the "bid" price is the opposite of the "ask".
The "ask" price is the price the market is willing to sell a stock or option. Really determined by supply and demand. The more demand the more the price.
Now the "bid-ask" "spread" is essentially the difference between the highest price that a buyer is willing to pay for a stock and the lowest price that a seller is willing to take.
So in the end you want to buy at the "bid" price because it is lower. If you are going to pay the "ask" price you pretty much think this stock is going higher quickly and want to make sure your order goes through and you get it before you are "chasing" it up in price. Hope this helps. gg4
Lodas, sitting in the doctor's office so I'll have to make this quick. Do you really think they will allow this to go below a dollar again??? TIA gg4
Intuitive, yes to try to save some money is smart in some instances. At this point in time if you think it's a $15 stock in two years why wouldn't you cough up the money and buy?? We are all hoping it goes below a buck again, I just don't see them doing that because they know how many of us would really cough up some cash, sell our dogs or whatever we have to do to buy as much as we could. The ones that have been here for the whole journey know what these people are going to do with this . Make it into a huge conglomerate. These big players wouldn't be here for a couple of pennies. Good luck to you and everyone else we will all soon see what has been in the making for years. Again all in my opinion gg4
It is happy hour!
Hey Rock, has Lehman Brothers closed out yet? Have they been paid yet? Just sayin
AZ, I agree and thank you for everything you've done over the years. To think that this will go down lower again?? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just don't understand what people are thinking? Did A#@N go down when they acquired W%#le Fo^%s?? We, a small shell company are buying the third largest Mortgage servicer in the country!! Hopefully there is icing on this cake and our classes have some great returns but if not. WMIH will be enormous! Again all in my opinion. Nuff said.
gg4
Fence sitting is not for me. Either you're in or you're out. Yes a lot of us bought below a Buck but now at $1.29... Someday people will realize it was a steal of a lifetime, the buy of a lifetime. Again just my opinion.
I'm not waiting for the just in case it goes down. $1.29 to me was a great buy today. Just my opinion once again!
FUNNIEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!
Lodas, they can test me all they want! Haha I'm pulling the trigger again today.
Thank you for all your help Dmdmd2020!
Nothing like a Roth!
AGREE! LG has a good handle on this in my opinion. Life is good, woke up on the right side of the grass today hanging with my family. Good luck to you and everyone else.
Only one thing has a 99% chance of happening........MERGER. IMO!!
Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. To all the mothers out there thank you for having us men.
Thanks for your response Bob. I think all of us that own wmih would love for Diamond Guru to be correct in his assessment of this stock. But lately like I said the hairs on the back of my head are standing up, now my hands going into my pocket fingering my pistol.
Thanks for your response LG. It did just happen to NSM!!!
BBOB and LG and anyone else that wants to chime in. question. What is stopping the larger hedge funds in the near future from taking this private? As everyone knows that has been investing for a while it only takes 51% . Whether it be friendly, hostel or a tender offer? The hairs on my neck are standing up and when that happens I start looking around. TIA gg4
Lodas, just spitballing here but how do you feel about a few of the bigger hedge funds making a tender offer and taking WMIH private? Just trying to look at the bigger picture and possibilities. Thank you gg4
Nobody like Peter Lynch ever as far as I'm concerned. Reminds me of the early eighties when you could get 16% on a CD. Then in the 90s it was the Janus funds, great times back then. Any opinion on where you see WMIH going in the near future? Don't see you post much? TIA gg4
rattlewatch,AGREE. They buy because they think it will rise!!! Peter Lynch, my favorite throughout my whole investing life!!!!! Any thoughts on a few trying to take this private? Thank you for the link also. I see a few names that have upped their percentage recently that are also invested in WMIH! TIA. gg4
wowalters, 2 great posts right in a row. AZ has gone above and Beyond what most people have here for us. I'm holding, Lodas is correct, if this dips I'm just buying more not selling. Good luck to you
No AZ please don't stop updating.
Just wanted to take a second to thank everyone that has been doing great DD lately. Too many to list. But thanks again all of you it's important to read everything over and over for me to try to understand this highly confusing bankruptcy. Good luck to all and thanks again to all for your hard work and time.
goodietime, right now at $1.34 do you think it will be a $14 stock in a few years? That's a 10 bagger in 2 or 3 years. Most people only double their money every 7 to 10 years. Old-school the rule of 72. So the average Joe six-pack doubles their money maybe five times maybe 6 in their lifetime. Personally in my opinion I think once this company starts rolling, mergers and acquisitions, this company will be worth far more than $14 so right this point I am in all the way. JMO, I lean towards diamonds Theory that when this thing gets above $5 and big institutions start buying people will be running to buy the stock. As lodas says it's time to buy right now and thank him later. Again all in my humble opinion. gg4
I'll jump in. Because if money does come back to Escrow holders quite a few of them will put their money right back into WMIH. I think many of us already have those plans. In fact many are still buying. I know I am every month.
Not sure about the shares but I remember they only had 17 billion dollars in assets while still in business. Big difference. If I remember correctly they came out of chapter 11 with nine hundred million dollars worth of property. Big difference. They did not have over a hundred hedge funds that owned markers. Big difference. This is not even close to what Kmart was this is a behemoth. Big difference, not even close.
I was waiting for "DIAMOND" to chime in on that one!
Zeke, I remember that too and would not be surprised. There has never been a bankruptcy like this before and never will be again. Banking laws were changed. Nothing would surprise me after all this time. Trying to compare this bankruptcy with any other is unreasonable. I can't wait to see what happens. Glta gg4
BBOB,YES NOW WHAT? Way too many shares to be sitting on the sidelines! They are there for a reason. Thank you gg4
BBANBOB, since there are 3.5 billion shares available and not all of them will be distributed in the near future what will happen with the rest? IPO???? S4V? Way too many shares left to be just gifted away?? Just wondering? If and I mean if it is legal S4V does seem to be the most logical. JMO and thoughts.
Nice find, once again Royal!!
FINALLY a sane post today!!!! BY.
No such instructions from TD Ameritrade either. Spoke with corporate actions divisions... Nothing.
Why are you always so defensive. And demeaning people. You may meet them someday.
If you don't think what happened during mediation has anything to do with us right now you've got your head buried in the sand.
Nope. Just haven't seen them yet. Try to keep up. This bankruptcy is not over.
I believe you are missing the point. There are things that we do not know and will never know that benefit us in my opinion.
