What were the details of the settlement? No wrong doing?
We will not know details until next week - if PWC settled and did not admit any wrong doing not so much - then Edwards just took the cash and ran.
PWC/Edwards Settled
Glad Navy did not take the bet.....
Anyone with Pacer? just saw this on CoBF --
"PWC/Edwards settled...Judge Moreno entered the Order attached to this post this afternoon denying as moot all pending motions in Edwards v. PwC. In accordance with yesterday's Notice, the case has indeed been settled and the settlement papers should be filed next week."
"MAY", not "SHALL": Purchaser may by written notice to Conservator
We have to be getting to the top of the pile.....holy cow, this has been going on since April - exhausting.
Guy on CNBC interviewing Senator from Mass regarding Wells said "Excuse our skepticism but you guys were screaming and yelling at the Fannie CEO in 2003 - did nothing about them being too big - and then [they caused] the 2008 crisis" DICK.
The Fox Money piece posted by Sammy is a HUGE step forward in getting coverage in mainstream press - it is a big deal.
Clarified here yesterday - forgot who. 150 is the rule, however motions, requests, submissions extend the deadline. 150 is in a perfect world, hear the case and rule with no other questions or inputs. They said it better but you get the drift.
Most never questioned on this or any other blog or discussion forum....Probably because they are a rant of issues that have nothing to do with the legal questions at hand. You seem to be quite knowledgeable in many areas - just think today you are trying get a rise out of people. At his point, do not think any of us have much patience left for Carney babble.
Everyone is getting sassy given this extremely painful delay. Everyone has their own opinions but think having Cooper, Hume and Steele fighting on our side is pretty comforting.
She is not ruling on the future of housing, she is ruling on the government overstepping it's authority - and do not think overstepping governments are her thing. Just gives me some confidence that we will get a fair shake.
Sounds like a woman that Obama would not like to have reading a bunch of dirty deals that have his signature all over them...remember Judge Brown liked the "salt the earth so they never grow back" comments.
"I feel compelled to rise on this issue to express, in the strongest terms, my opposition to the nomination of Janice Rogers Brown to the DC Circuit," Obama said.
"Justice Brown has shown she is not simply a judge with very strong political views, she is a political activist who happens to be a judge," he ranted. "The only thing that seems to be consistent about her overarching judicial philosophy in an unyielding belief in an unfettered free market."
Obama fumed that the judge viewed "the New Deal, which helped save our country and get it back on its feet after the Great Depression, was a triumph of our very own "Socialist revolution." She has equated altruism with communism. She equates even the most modest efforts to level life's playing field with somehow inhibiting our liberty."
When Judge Brown was appointed, Obama wrote an official opinion on why she is a horrible selection - it was not very nice - as a matter of fact, it was kind of nasty. I will try to hunt it down again.
Remember when Obama wrote that official letter on how much Judge Brown sucked, remember?
The Pagliara ruling gave me no stress what so ever. The Gov illegal actions have already been made known - we just have to process through the courts. They will not be able to move forward with their housing plans until this mess is resolved - if we have to wait, so will they - I got time.
Would be a nice day for a Sweeney slap....
Many appeal rulings take much longer than 150 days. I do not know where we came up with that 150 number but it appears to be incorrect.
This cleared it up - a bit - for me. Hamish response to court ruling yesterday - he is great. http://www.valuewalk.com/2016/08/fannie-mae-federal-circuit-in-piszel-guides-d-c-circuit-on-takings/
Think it is anticipation for tomorrow's "possible" ruling...odds increase with every passing Tuesday and Friday! Time will tell - obviously we hope somebody knows something!
The "we are not a Delaware Corp" is a ridiculous claim - other implications are huge - but it could slow the process down a bit. These court cases are just like a horse race - "We have Steele riding Delaware in the lead with Perry Appeal in second and Sweeney making a break on the outside....wait a minute, Delaware is loosing steam and Perry Appeal is closing in on the lead...."
You are a good man, just hope you are wrong and we both get rich! In reality, when this ends the void left in my life would probably lead me to blow all the cash on blow and hookers.
Remember when TH posted that this will be over by the election - and we thought that was so long away and were angry. Now that is becoming a dream. Don't get me wrong, a Perry victory would be huge - but only appeal on a motion to dismiss huge.
I still think there is a chance that Obama will not walk away from this, with a pile of skeletons in the closet, without taking any credit for restructure or Watt's accomplishments (the man he forced in)and will do the right thing....but this 4 year obsession has probably warped my brain.
There are posts on Twitter that looks like JW is interested and receiving info from our crew.
The Perry Appeal - the cornerstone of the Gov's arguments in most cases.
More justice delayed....kind of hoping for a surprise, off hours release, kind of the only way I can get passed the fact that the next 2 days are hopeless. Always the chance Sweeney does something but she moves slower than Sleet after the Delaware BBQ Festival.
Agreed on all points. I do think these are all big kill rulings so hoping there is more going on behind the scenes that we see. Also, maybe there is a delay waiting for Lambert ruling - but - really no effect on Delaware - or - Accounting cases so the Delaware delay is most frustrating.
Agreed. The rulings effects everything FnF - common manipulation and people just getting discouraged with this massive delay in justice....and a bit of panic.
Took a while to lift the stay, OK. But why take so long to set next action dates?????? Just crazy.
I think he is just watching the RNC and getting his panties in a bunch.
This is painful. Other than the last Perry due date today it is completely dead - WTF with no Delaware dates? Everything in a holding pattern, really hope Obama has a "claim glory for reform" plan because other than Delaware, we have nothing really going on for a short term kill. We are in this for years and still working on motions to dismiss.
So Sweeney apparently has released 8 more docs 700 pages today. It's on pacer so should be made public shortly
Also, the fact that it does not require any discovery really would delay justice. It is a Delaware law issue - you have to let Delaware decide. The gov knows what is going on - and if they want this mess over take the hit in Delaware where no discovery dirt can cause more damage. Hillary is taking some hits - I would get this over with before the election.
Myron T. Steele (DE Bar No. 00000002) That says it all, he is a bad ass - #2!
Delaware can really nail this shut in a few months - if not consolidated.
Great move by Judge Steele! - drops some charges so the Delaware case is completely unlike any other case considered for consolidation.
IU has some new docs on the Fanniefreddiesecrets new thing - here is one: http://fanniefreddiesecrets.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/FHFA00012792_Redacted.pdf
