Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau will delay legalizing marijuana until October 17 to give the provinces time to adapt to the new legislation, he announced Wednesday. The Senate voted to fully legalize recreational marijuana earlier this week, approving a revised bill to pave the way for a legal cannabis market. The country is the first in the G7 to legalize the drug’s recreational use. Estimates from Canada’s bureau of statistics show that Canadians spent about $4.5 billion on cannabis in 2015."
