Thanks, Hope, for the updates. Not all of us are where we can hear the conference call.
Lawsuits on Page 4
Basically it says the group of lawyers managed to group all the wanna be's in to a group (Class) and CVSI filed a suit to dismiss. The courts have not gone any further than that at this point. Waiting to see if our suit throws theirs out or not. It did not mention any dates when this might happen.
Then there are two other individuals who are doing the same thing on their own, the first one is on hold waiting to see how the original class works out.. the second one is in negotiations to see if they want to wait and see how the original class works out or not.
If the original class is thrown out (I dont see how it cannot be?!?!) then the rest of them will fall off the table as well.
Another record setting quarter for revenue .. profit of 0.03 per share for a 0.09 on the year. Pretty nice!
I am looking forward to the time when the profits increase, but for a young gun company on the OTC this is better than 99% of the other tickers out there. I will take this all day long. I see no reason why the company cannot keep this pace up for a few years, and this is without NASDAQ or a big box store deal.
Here it is..
The Press Release for Year End
I don't see how setting a new record for revenue in one quarter is either flat or disappointing.. but hey that's just me.
The 'Money Flow' indicator on my trading software spiked with this pop too. Its at almost $2 million now, have not seen it that high in a little while.. hope it continue to climb.
Oh, and the 10 DMA just crossed over the 50 DMA again! Yes!
People must be anticipating a good report!
Good Morning Peeps..
It's getting exciting around here. You can almost feel it in the air, earnings are expected to be pretty good and I am hoping the price reacts accordingly. I will be happy if the price settles in at $5.75 - $6.00 once earnings is announced. Hopefully that's in the low side. Just being realistic.
This is one of those stocks that you will be happy to have held on to 5 or 10 years down the road but if you are wanting an overnight sensation you may be disappointed. TLRY ran to $300 from its initial offering of what $12 I think it was.. but that doesn't happen every day and it's back to $70 now. That is still pretty nice and CVSI can get there too but I would prefer a slow and steady climb, something the price can sustain. Remember, the faster they climb the harder they fall.
Earlier this morning Genos asked me what I thought the stock was going to do today and I said I expected more selling. It feels pretty good to be wrong, as the stock has started moving upwards nicely.
Maybe this is the start of the pre-earnings runup? Lots of stocks do it.. about a week or so BEFORE earnings they make their move and then go back to normal when earnings are announced. 'Buy the rumor and sell the news' type thing.
Good Morning Peeps..
Nice find, Cosa, its great to see an article about CVSI that is not a hit piece for a change.
My favorite part is this:
CVSI is not only profitable; they are highly profitable. Gross profit margins are over 70 percent, and net income is over 20 cents on every dollar of sales. When the company finally gets around to reporting final 2018 numbers, earnings are likely to be at least $0.12 per share.
Thats a lofty prediction for profits in my opinion, but if we come anywhere near close to that, I think it will bring some much needed attention to CVSI and turn the price of this stock around and upward. Lets hope these guys were right.
That was interesting. Lucky for us, those companies do not really even compare to CVSI. The reasons they were denied to not apply to CVSI. I am betting that NASDAQ wants to make sure 110% that everything is above board, and legal.
Welcome back.
I do fear that when the end of year report is announced, despite the record revenues and posting a profit, I fear that the stock price will not run up all that much. We are in a down slide for sure as the support I was counting on has broken. That, and the excellent report for Q4 just isn't going to be a surprise to anyone.
It will bounce sometime no doubt.. we will have our day no doubt, I just don't know when. I don't want to get caught chasing when it does take off. so I continue to hold.
My basic outline on selling stocks like CVSI:
Some people set up specific target prices for stocks on both the upside and downside. Once the stock gets within 10% of his high or low targets, they re-evaluate if they should sell, hold steady or buy more.
If the fundamentals for the company are still solid like CVSI fundamentals are, you should sit tight. Stocks won't necessarily begin to fall if the news is still good. But be prepared to sell if the original reason you liked a stock is no longer valid. Admit your mistake and move on.
Six reasons to sell your stock, in order of importance:
1. If you're losing sleep over how your cash is invested.
2. You need the money.
3. The original reason you bought the stock no longer holds true.
4. There are better places for your money.
5. Selling could help you reduce taxes.
6. You need to re-balance your portfolio.
Ask yourself each of those questions on why you own CVSI. Here are my answers..
Rule 1 is easy for me. But some of you on this forum seem to be victims to this rule as told by your posts about the IR department, PRs, and more.
While I do plan on buying a new car soon, rule number 2 does not apply to me yet.
Rule number 3 is in full play for me, it still holds true so I am still holding and suspect I will for a while.
Rules 4, 5 and maybe 6 just don't apply to me so I think I will hold.
Good Morning Peeps..
OK, I will throw my guesses in for this..
Revenue : 16,200,000
Stores : 2310
Well the current trend appears to be breaking down. If it does for real, I guess it was bound to happen. It lasted about 3 months..
All is not lost. I am a long term investor and this is probably just another wave in the price fluctuation. With earnings coming out next week I am surprised the price is dong this, but hey.. thats what stocks do. They go up and down.
I guessed at the bottom, and seems I guessed wrong. No biggie as I am not selling anywhere near this price level. Selling now is for the weak of hand, and those that panic. I already learned those lessons.
Im not much of a betting man, but I do like to guess. And I am guessing that these 4.60's we are seeing today are going to be the lows so if you are wanting to buy in around the lows of the current trend, this might not be a bad place to do so. Just my humble opinion of course, invest at your own risk.
Good Morning Peeps..
Ap, thats a great snip from the analyst. The part I like best is this one:
Good Morning Peeps..
Who knows what the day has in store for us, but the Bids and Asks look nice before the bell. A nice little gap up at open.
I expect an exciting week with the stock price as earnings is just around the corner. Seems like this stock gets a little pop up right before the numbers are released. Maybe today is the day it starts.
Nice analogy.
Good Morning Peeps..
I see our old friend from the short sighted Citron days is back. I was hoping he had moved on..
He said :
well said. +1
Something else I would like to add is the 50 DMA reversed and is now in an upward trend as of yesterday. That makes all three, the 10 DMA, the 50 DMA and the 200 DMA lines in an upwards trend. Good indicators of a rising stock price.
Good Morning Peeps..
Hello Hippd .. you are new here it seems. Welcome. You are right when you draw your descending line on the top of the recent charts, that line IS going down. But in my opinion thats only part of the overall picture.
General Grievous is also right with the upward line on the bottom of the trend. If you combine what both of you are saying it forms a classic pennant. He is, as you are, entitled to his opinion and allowed to express it.
I personally believe we are in an upward trend, or the bottom line that GG is drawing would be going down, the same direction as the one you draw but its not. Hence the classic pennant formation.
When mrboom said we were trading at 0.40 cents a year ago, that is completely relevant as we are trading way above that now. An example of a long term trend upwards.
I have no problem with anyone expressing their opinion here even if they are different from mine but when you call someone out, you had better be ready and expect responses from those that disagree. No one here 'knows everything' and never said they did.
Good Morning Peeps..
Just a couple of quick observations on the charts for you this morning. The 10 DMA has reversed directions and is climbing again. This is a very good short term sign. The 50 DMA is still dropping but only barely, and I expect a reversal here too as the closing price has consistently closed above this line. Chartwise, things are looking up. Literally.
The next two weeks are going to be exciting. The Pennant pattern that has formed will complete, the convergence of the 10 and 50 DMA with the current trend line as well as the closing prices .. throw in the year end financials for good measure and there should be some fireworks.
