Not true. Even before JRJR, Longaberger wasn’t paying vendors. They hoped JRJR was going to infuse some cash into the place. I know a few people that worked there in accounting.
Big basket is no more.
Was at Longaberger Homestead the other day. They are using an excel spreadsheet for retail sales. Lol. If that's not asking for trouble.

Go Pumper Go! Pump that stock back up to $20! I might even get in on this scam.
What are you "vaping"?
I live near the LB plant. All those people are afraid for their jobs. There is talk of making the baskets in China. That will alienate the last of the consultants. Then how will they make money? Stop trying to shill for that corrupt jerk JR.
Good news? Hardly. Not paying your property taxes after that jerk off Rochon said all the debt was paid, was a lie. The reality is that they haven't been investing in the upkeep on that building. So your point is moot. I have sources that say that there are TONS of issues with that building (HVAC, etc.) and repair costs are enormous. I think they are evacuating everyone so the handles don't fall on top of them! Since they took over, CVSL has done nothing to invest in TLC, and has just let it go down the crapper. I totally agree with the other guy that says JR just buys companies to sell them.
New article in Columbus dispatch today. Everyone moving out of the basket. And they owe $576k in back taxes. I thought JR paid all the debt? Guess not! They can't fit all those people at the run down manufacturing plant.
How does this acquisition align with the other companies? The PR statement says "direct to consumer". They don't appear to be a direct selling company.
My inside source at Longaberger says people are getting stock options in lieu of raises, so maybe that accounts for the volume. Since most people there haven't had a raise in about 10 years, maybe they are cashing out.
Yeah, what a joke. Last year they had the bee at a convention center, this year it's a high school. Longaberger ran all the businesses out of Dresden a decade ago, so there's not much to do in that ghost town anymore. I feel sorry for those consultants who have to stay in a hotel at least 30 min away from where the bee will be.
Sorry to hear that. The people I know that work at Longaberger say that Rochon JR. is pretty much a douchebag who doesn't know a thing about running a successful business. Most LB employees don't think they'll be around after this year.
No, I'm pretty sure 'ol Scotty pumper is responsible for "the bump". I guarantee the stock will be back in the crapper tomorrow.
Yeah. There's an open CEO position. I hear it doesn't pay much though.
So Cvsl told Tami that she would only have to take a 4 month salary cut, and then went back on their word? No way. I know Tami sounds pretty greedy, but the CVSL people sound like a bunch of douchebags. By the way, why would cvsl say she resigned then try to discredit her like this? I wouldn't hold your breath on Tami having to pay those delinquent taxes. That's cvsl's problem now.
I'm from the area, and know people that work there. There's no buzz about the changes. If anything, people are even more afraid of Longaberger going under since Tami "left". Also May was not "a blockbuster" as you state. I know accounting people there, and May was no better that any previous month.
Lol. #84 out of 100? I thought all the Longaberger debt was gone? I guess not paying your taxes isn't considered debt.
Ha! LOL!
My inside source told me Longaberger just got rid of half their IT staff. Not a good sign when they just put in a new Retail system a few months ago. They now have 5 IT people for the whole company. Back in 2000, there were 260. Not a good sign.
It really says something when the CFO and President want to get the hell out of that place!
Yes, they would...and maybe doing better than they are now. JR has made no financial contribution to LB. All he has done is facilitate the sale of money making assets like the golf course. LB (or any business) can't survive without cash to invest in things that keep the business operating (like maintenance, etc.). My friends that are still there tell me they only have one maintenance guy left for all their facilities (the basket and the manufacturing plant). Thats one guy for facilities that are 25 miles away from each other. With equipment that's been there since 2000, I think you need more than one guy. Anyway there are less than 260 people working (employed) at LB now...in 2000 it was 5000. And no, most everyone I know is miserable there and they say they would not be surprised if they came to work one day and the "gates were closed".
100% correct. Everyone I talk to at LB thinks CVSL "management" are a "bunch of crooks".
Because they don't have a clue or a solid business plan. I mean, come on. Buy a bunch of unrelated random companies and hope for the best? Now they don't even have the cash to buy the next one, let alone be on track for like four of them.
He can re architect it all he wants, but direct selling is dying. Just look at Avon. Would you rather click and buy something online, or drive to someone's house to buy it then wait weeks to get it?
I told you guys my inside sources were spot on about the LB president. They knew that guy wasn't going to last.
That's fine that JR has com in to do what he's doing, but you can't just pay off all the debt and say you're doing a good job. Business need investment in infrastructure, which according to my source, is not happening. They are running on IT systems that are 10 years old, with no immediate plans to upgrade because of "no money". These are the same systems that are running at their retail locations. Technology wise, hey are light years behind a company like Target...and are 1 big data breach away from going out of business.
Only that he in not as approachable as past presidents. No meetings have been held with LB employees to discuss the future plans of the company (which was standard in the past).
So many people I know that actually work at the big basket say the outlook is grim. No money being invested in the company, aging technology, and frustrated consultants that say the new ordering website does not work properly. Direct selling is a dying breed (just look at avon stock plummet), and a business model (cvsl) based on it won't last much longer in this "click and ship" world. I hope all you guys like filling JR's pockets with your hard earned cash.
I know a lot of people who work at Longaberger since I'm from the area. All I ever hear from those people is how bad it's getting there every day. Sales are way down, the manufacturing facility is in disrepair, only a skeleton crew is there to run the place due to so many layoffs, and the consultants constantly complain about the new web site and how bad it is (maybe that's why their CIO was recently let go). Maybe no one here cares about the company, but I think it's sad that so many good people that helped make that place great...don't have jobs anymore.
