I haven't lost patience. Actually. I'm learning to be more patient as I think growth will probably be slower and more challenging as an installation company as compared to an installation company plus proprietary cell technology.
Bottom line. We are all looking at the same data and there are different ways to interpret that data. Stating things as facts does not make them facts. I question people that cling to dogma much more than I do the doubter. There are some (not everyone) on this board who think using all caps and denigrating countervailing opinions makes their opinions more correct. It does not. Others use this board as I do --to contribute their opinions and take in multiple perspectives.
In my perspective there has been essentially no concrete news about cell in a very long time which leads me to believe there is a big problem. I sure hope I'm wrong.
Time will certainly be the final arbiter on this matter nothing else.
It should be apparent to everyone at this point that there is a good chance that there is no cell. JN has been transitioning this company to function exclusively as a solar installation company for quite some time now. The most likely explanation for the radio silence on the cell is not his grandiose plan to drop earth shattering news after uplisting it's that he's trying to save the company despite the fact that it was about the cell from its inception. My personal belief is that there are major patent issues here that have not been divulged to shareholders. That would also explain his failure to identify a manufacturing partner. For everyone's sake I hope I am wrong and will gladly endure the "I told u so's" from the board if I am. But in my opinion the writing has been on the wall for quite some time that the cell is a phantom. On the upside. Solar business is booming and this company could still do great things even without a cell.
Sorry that's ridiculous. My local gym uses the same referral program. Maybe they should release a PR? Commitment to growth is a given and should not require a PR. The more nonsense fluff this company releases the more it appears that real and substantive news in particular regarding the cell is not coming any time soon. I've been here a long time and want this thing to grow as much as anyone but these PRs look desperate and are unsettling.
So you are speculating that we are manufacturing the panels without yet having finalized with a manufacturing partner? --a fact that JN has made clear from recent PR. Seems unlikely to me. Hope I'm wrong and you are right however.
If sunworks is installing sunpower cells they are supposed to be more efficient than standard cells. Maybe that's what the testimonial is referring to?
Yes I'm also blind apparently. Can you supply the math? Also if this is true any thoughts on why this wouldn't be marketed other than a consumer testimonial in the sunworks webpage? Ps. I hope ur right!
Thanks for helpful response. much appreciated.
I would ask this question. JN and board members are able to exercise stock options between 5-17 cents. So if we uplist via RS and the PPS goes to let's say 3 dollars. Even if all of us lose money doesn't that suggest that JN and insiders make money anyway leaving us in the dust?
I agree. I cannot count how many times There have been posts on this board arguing against a reverse split (and some who have emphatically stated that it wouldn't happen). Now we have one. What has changed? In the absence of major news this could make prospective investors even more skittish. I assume there is a plan in place to maximize growth but this makes me nervous.
Don't think so. Was short and vague. He said we are meeting with a company with an office in hawaii and are interested in that market. That's it. Seemed pretty innocuous to me.
Interesting... I emailed JN a few days ago about expanding to hawaii ( I live here). And he indicated that he was meeting with a company with offices in hawaii and was inclined to open markets here.
Like that line of thought. Makes sense
agree if anyone who can decode this would be much appreciated:)
In Hawaii usually up... Hawaiin electric with rolling blackouts tonight because several generation units went down. We could use some more solar out here for sure!
Solar3D to Complete the Acquisition of Another Profitable Solar Systems Provider
Company executing an aggressive growth-by-acquisition strategy to build the next solar industry powerhouse
Santa Barbara, CA – January 13, 2015 – Solar3D, Inc. (OTC: SLTD), a leading solar power company, commented today on its progress regarding the acquisition of MD Energy (MDE), a Southern California solar systems provider known for its reputation of providing elite customer service. The company plans to complete the acquisition in February.
Led by CEO Danny Mitchell, MDE has excelled in large part due to its attention to detail, round-the-clock availability, and overall execution in solar implementation. This emphasis on customer satisfaction results not only in positive reviews, but a referral network that continues to grow and generate additional revenue.
MDE continues to win customer praise. A recent customer reported, “We received quotes from Renova and Solar City for the purchase of a solar system and both were $30,000 above the MD Energy quote. All the quotes were for the same number of solar panels, but the other companies also wanted to upgrade our electrical panel. However, MD Energy was able to use our existing equipment, which saved us an additional $5,000. Renova supplies a specific solar panel as the reason their costs are so high. In reality, the MDE solar panels have the same production rating as Renova panels. According to a Solar City representative, the solar panels they use are ones they buy in bulk whenever there is a huge markdown from a manufacturer. We are extremely pleased with our system, the way it looks and the workmanship of MD Energy.”
“We are thrilled with the dedication to detail provided by the MD Energy team in terms of both product craftsmanship and customer service,” said Jim Nelson, CEO of Solar3D. “As we progress towards completing the acquisition of the MDE, which we believe will finalize in February, we continue to discover countless positive indicators during our due diligence process. The online reviews posted by MD Energy customers, and overall respect from those within the solar industry, makes this purchase another prime example of why we believe that the growth-by-acquisition strategy of smart, successful companies will only enhance the Solar3D brand.”
Solar3D seeks to continue identifying solar companies that meet its strict criteria for acquisition, such as possessing a strong management team, commitment to customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. This expansion model is largely supported by widespread belief that the solar industry, especially in California, will carry the explosive growth experienced in 2014 into 2015. In fact, a recent whitepaper published by analytics firm IHS, presents data indicating a 25% increase in global demand for solar PV in 2015. The same whitepaper also states “California in 2015 will become global leader in solar power penetration.” Solar3D seeks to capitalize on this demand by further establishing its ‘Solar 2.0’ model of offering commercial and residential solar solutions that benefit the customer first with an emphasis on cost-efficiency and flexibility.
About Solar3D, Inc.
Solar3D is a leading provider of solar power solutions and the developer of a proprietary high efficiency solar cell. The company’s SUNworks division focuses on the design, installation and management of solar power systems for commercial, agricultural and residential customers. SUNworks is one of the fastest growing solar systems providers in California and has delivered hundreds of 2.5 kilowatt to 1-megawatt commercial systems and has the capability of providing systems as large as 25 megawatts. Solar3D’s technology division is developing a patent-pending 3-dimensional solar cell technology to maximize the conversion of sunlight into electricity. The Solar3D Cell collects sunlight from a wide angle and lets light bounce around in 3-dimensional microstructures on the solar cell surface. The Company’s mission is to further the widespread adoption of solar power by deploying affordable, state-of-the-art systems and developing breakthrough new solar technologies.
Sound like you'll have a fleet of yachts!
I op
Demonstrating what has driven PPS up until this point and what distinguishes SLTD from other solar companies in the long run are separate issues.
When and if SLTD comes to market with a commercialized high efficiency cell that hopefully will be cheaper than other conventional cells then this company moves into a completely different realm and I suspect the PPS will skyrocket. The PPS has not been heavily influenced by the cell up until now because I believe investors are much more attracted to hard outcomes like revenue instead of speculative technologies.
If we go on the assumption that a RS is not going to happen (at least in isolation) and that uplisting is planned for the near future then I fail to see how acquisitions alone could drive up the PPS enough to meet the requirements for NASDAQ.
I may be totally wrong about this but it seems like the catalyst that will hopefully brings this thing out of the high teens will be concrete information about cell and it's commercialization. In the mean time, I would love to see the results of recent pilot studies regarding their latest prototype.
In the end, as others have pointed out, we are very lucky to have the opportunity to invest in a company with hard revenues and the promise of a game-changing technology. I am relatively new to investing in penny stocks but this combination seems to be like something of a unicorn in the OTC universe.
No question that the company could do well on acquisitions alone. On the other hand, it will be a beast if the cell pans out. I agree that it is important to be patient (and of course we don't really have a choice!). But my sense is that there are a lot of competitors who working toward similar goals and being first to market is going to be an important factor in SLTD's success.
Agree
All good!
This is a forum which should be about the exchange of ideas --Not monoliths who all share the same opinion. Labeling people who respectfully hold alternate opinions as "whiners" is petty. There is enough room on this board for a variety of perspectives. I want this company to grow as much as anyone else and have been invested for a long time.
I also happen to think that a proprietary technology that could revolutionize this rapidly expanding solar market is hardly and after-thought.
I have been a follower of this board for a long time and am struck by the vitriol levied upon those who offer opinions that may differ from those of the so-called "longs". Believe me there are plenty of "longs" in this who place a premium on the development and commercialization of the cell. The central question is how central the cell will be to the growth of SLTD. I personally hope it is an important part of the long term plan and a key contributor to the companies long term success.
That being said. If this emerges as a company with growth chiefly tied solar installation I'm all for it but I suspect the PPS rise will be much slower. So be it... solar empires are not built in a day. Hopefully one way or another SLTD will end up near the top.
I respect these varying opinions but I personally find it extremely concerning that there is no mention of the cell progress in this PR. in my opinion the ability to retain current investors and attract new ones has a lot to do with the successful development and commercialization of the cell. I only hope that he is unable to say much because of ongoing negotiations with manufacturing partners. But I am beginning to feel queasy.
Agree 1200%
I see 4 trades 2500 each two at 1602 and 2 at 16:10 last one 0.202
Haha fair enough!
Basically JN has asked us to keep the faith. I very much believe in this sector but hope my faith has not been misplaced. Unless substantial news does not come in the near future doubt will begin to overcome optimism an faith.
bravo!!!
Usually just a consumer of all the great information posted the board. For which I'm very thankful. Just curious about anyone's thoughts about a board member buying shares ostensibly based on insider information. Wouldn't this potentially impact the timing of any kind of announcement from JN? ie if an insider purchases > 600,000 shares just prior to an announcement wouldn't this be frowned upon by SEC? Makes me wonder whether there might be sometime before we hear something to avoid the appearance of impropriety. But then again I don't know the all the regulations regarding a purchase such as this so wanted to put it out there.
