Security is very important: MoneyGram, which saw a $1.2 billion acquisition from Alibaba’s Ant Financial affiliate collapse following security concerns from the U.S. government, said it has agreed to pilot XRP, the cryptocurrency controlled by Ripple, within its payment flows using Ripple’s xRapid product.
if you want to perform your own transactions, you either run your own server or use someone elses.
WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO RUN YOUR OWN SERVER$$$
theres only 5 right now!
Alibaba runs a ripple vaildator... Im not going to do the dd for you to see the bigger picture here
Think Alibaba
Alibaba is running a ripple validator Folks see the bigger picture

*SMART CONTRACTS* Codius is being used by Ripple Labs for banking and enterprise integrations.
American Express and Santander are using Ripple network for B2B transactions
NOTHING ON FINRA ABOUT RS. On monday, Adrian heads to Canada to speak with Hedge Funds
xVIA, xCurrent, xRapid all run on Ripple. Security is huge demand here
AND CODIUS SMART CONTRACTS it runs on Ripple network
cuz they want the cheaps, if they start talking on here, everyone follows them over and BAM! the price spikes up even higher
They're here, they only start talking when they are selling
Codius is used by Ripple Labs for banking and enterprise integrations.
Smart Contracts
When two people transact, they could write the terms of their transactions into code, but neither of them might trust the other to run it.
Codius allows a third party to run it and attest to the integrity of the exact code it received.
CODIUS RUNS ON THE RIPPLE NETWORK!!!
you're forgeting about the smart contract system that runs on ripple too
Gonna be huge!!! Ripples SMART CONTRACT SYSTEM: CODIUS
https://codius.org/
You mean XRP? XRP is the token that trades on the Ripple network. XRP is just one piece of the Ripple network. Ripple offers far more than just XRP...... smart contracts
RIPPLE IS THE FUTURE FOR BANK TRANSACTIONS. ITS FASTER AND SAVES THE INSTITUTIONS MONEY. ITS A NO BRAINER REALLY
American Express has teamed up with Santander UK and Ripple to introduce blockchain-enabled cross-border business-to-business payments.
AmEx's FX International Payments (FXIP) business will route non-card payments through Ripple's real-time payments network.
The partnership will initially allow AmEx business customers to make instant and traceable payments to Santander bank accounts in the UK, although it is expected to eventually be extended to other partners and geographies.
The move will reduce the time and cost of settlement, simplifying connections with intermediaries and providing immediate end-to-end visibility into the transaction status and cost, says Ripple.
Greg Keeley, EVP, global corporate payments, AmEx, says: "Not only does this partnership with Ripple help decrease the time it takes for international transactions to be processed, it can make our transactions more effective for our customers."
Brad Garlinghouse, CEO, Ripple, adds: "Transfers that used to take days will be completed in real-time, allowing money to move as fast as business today. It is just the beginning, and we look forward to growing this partnership to help other American Express FXIP customers."
As announced in June 2016, Ripple added seven global banking institutions as partners to test out its distributed ledger technology. These partners included the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (NYSE:CM), which is better known as CIBC, Swiss-based UBS (NYSE:UBS), Spain's Banco Santander (NYSE:SAN), and Italy's Unicredit (NASDAQOTH:UNCFF).
